  1. BTW thanks to whoever posted the following link about our pursuit of Ramirez, just got around to reading it. Nice to hear an outsider's positive response. http://www.byfarthegreatestteam.com/posts/southampton-will-stand-tall-with-ramirez-running-the-show/
  2. It was a joke, but one I felt contained an essential truth. People not finding your jokes funny is not an indication that you don't have a sense of humour, more that you don't share one. I agree with your last line, causes more problems than anything else. Although there are a fair few on here who seem to just come on for an argument. Safer than going down the local for one I suppose.
  3. Head in the sand reasoning tho mate. They also reported Buttner as done deal and look what happened there. All of this press speculation can be used to give us an idea how likely something is but it's hardly something to stake your life on.
  4. Sorry, is this tongue in cheek? Apologies for not having a dossier about you available to hand so I can judge this comment on past form, I'm busy having an argument apparently.
  5. Well done C+ (lost marks for punctuation)
  6. I don't have any problem with you, or you having your own view. I believe that your assertion that the problems with transfers lie with Saints, overlooks many other possibilities. I don't have a problem with you or anyone else specifically on here. I have a problem with people getting uppity when they think I'm having a dig at them when there's nothing in a post to make them think such a thing. My comment was based on people swinging between sheer bliss in believing this was a done deal to utter depression over thinking it's now off. It's just plain stupid. I love all this cloak and daggers stuff and the rumours, I wouldn't be on here so much recently if I didn't. But while I agree that there are those outside the club that know a bit about what's going on, only those involved in a transfer know all the details (and tbh even then probably not 100%). On those grounds why take these press and ITK snippets as gospel. If he signs we'll soon know about it. Finally if you're offended by my sense of humour, apologies. I still stand by what I said though, not a healthy place to be for those with Bipolar disorder.
  7. Right, for those of you who seem to have misunderstood my little jibe, lack a sense of humour or suffer paranoid delusions, this was what I was trying to get across with my Bipolar comment. Thought it was pretty obvious, but there you go, perils of a web forum.
  8. Love you too. Care to elaborate or that monosyllabic sentence all you are capable of by way of explanation?
  9. This is absolutely the most laughable post in ages. Think I'm having a pop at you do you? Hit a nerve? My comment wasn't aimed at you or anyone specific and I believe if you read back through my posts on this thread I don't really have an opinion other than it's pointless getting worked up over speculation, either positive or negative. And therein lies the reason I used Bipolar disorder to make a point. Some people on here get so over excited the moment a bit of possible ITK info is posted or something is written in the press. They take it as gospel whether it's positive or negative and we get overblown reactions as a result. If it's negative then some people, including you, jump to the conclusion that there's something rotten in the club or that NC's an idiot. Sod the fact that there are many parties involved in transfer negotiations and that the problem could lie elsewhere. Yeah it's always our transfers that go tits up. That ignores all the successful ones we've made. No other clubs ever have this problem. ******, I'm sure if someone looked into it there'd be plenty of examples of similar things happening elsewhere it's just that we dont take notice as we're Saints fans. Some people on here are so up and down it's unbelievable! And I don't take depression lightly, my father has suffered from it for years and for the last 20 or so years so have I. Don't see me wallowing about in my own misery on here though do you? Oh and no it ain't the anti-depressants. Been there, done that. If the doc offers you any my advice would be to steer clear.
  10. Personally I think those who suffer from Bipolar disorder should steer well clear of internet football forums… In fact probably best to steer clear of football altogether!
  11. Sorry that was meant to be tongue in cheek.
  12. So, what story do I believe? Happy chappies celebrating a done deal with non alcoholic beverages, or scheming evil club president trying to start a bidding war?
  13. Don't you love these scoops? Nothing to see here, move along.
  14. Lambo has got to start looking at how Fellaini tore into them tonight. They'll be taking us even more seriously after dropping points in their first match tho.
  15. So you're loitering on this forum at 10:12pm for what reason?
  16. Lol. Surely though that was just a bad Photoshop job wasn't it? I mean, the scarf's obviously not even from the same photo!
  17. Sorry my bad, maybe arsey would have been a better adjective.
  18. Sorry Minty, I think on the whole you seem quite good at inserting some calming words and realism into some of the arguments on here, but this time you may have got it wrong. Read very much to me like he was having a pop at MLG when there were more voices than just his involved in the discussion, mine included. I know it's a pain when threads go off topic but no need for people to get aggressive when pointing it out.
  19. Not so sure about the last bit, I think the ball was curling back in and may have reached Zabaleta or whoever it was coming in at the back post. Also, looking at the highlights again this morning I think that due to the angle he was coming in at, Fox may have been worried about scoring an own goal and so tried to clear it but just wasn't in a position to do so.
  20. Gotta be 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1 for me. I like our fluidity going forward and don't think 4-4-2 enables us to do this as much. I also think at least one of the CM's needs to sit a lot more and offer the back four more protection. Thought yesterday seemed more 4-5-1 than 4-3-3. I know the two are supposed to be interchangeable depending on whether a team is attacking or defending but I don't think five men strung out in a straight line is the best way to defend though midfield and left Guly isolated at times. When we did attack we seemed not to switch to 4-3-3 but went to a rather unorthodox and scary 4-0-6! Having said all that, there will always be a time when 4-4-2 has its uses.
  21. Unfortunately for much of yesterday's match the 'hole' seemed to be situated in CM.
  22. I'm not worried, it looks like a great signing but I wouldn't lose sleep if we failed with it. All the whispers seem promising but I for one won't believe it's definite until it's announced by the club and Bologna and Penarol. As I said before Buttner was reported in the press as a done deal and it wasn't. The way football is these days I wouldn't put it past a player like Ramirez making the wages we have offered public to let his other suitors know what he'll be happy with should they fancy coming back in with another offer. Some managers and chairmen can be so knee jerk with their signings. That's why I was gutted Liverpool started the season so badly. I am half expecting a late bid from them. Suarez obviously wants his mate there.
  23. I Kind of agree but also think we need more strength in depth. Those who go on about Fonte obviously haven't been watching Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool the last couple of seasons. They all have at least one CB capable of dropping a bollock every couple of matches. Lescott, Ferdinand, Vidic, Smalling, Evans, Terry, Luiz, and Skrtel all make plenty of mistakes, the latter had a shocker this weekend.
