Sincerest condolences Daren; very sorry for your loss

Archers. Generally front row as we didn't have season tickets then so used to go down the ticket office on the morning tickets went on sale to get our favourite spot.
Loved it in there, easily the best times I've had supporting Saints. Original and funny songs, plus some top banter with the away fans. Makes all the difference when you're looking right at them from 20 yards away.

You appear to be the only person who would love it as much as me...
No, I'd love it, just love it too!

Went there about ten years ago - we took the high-speed ferry from P*mpey to Cherbourg (don't know if that still runs?) but Brittany Ferries to Caen would be fine - I would take the Thursday overnight boat and get into Caen about 6am Friday if you really want to maximise your stay. Echo the other posts that the Bayeux Tapestry is worth a visit. It's a nice part of the world and the locals are friendly if you at least make an attempt to parlez a bit of Franglais with them.

When you have supposedly the best team in L1, the most expensive team in L1, you have last years top marksman and player of the season in L1, owned by a wealthy owner with no debt, managed by an ex premiership manager, and no -10 to blame or hinder, isn't it natural to expect this team to set off like a f*cking steam train?
I dont care if teams are gonna come down here and plug the defence, I don't care if we always start slow, I don't care if AP and NC are waiting to the last minute to make purchases and don't want sellers taking the p*ss because we are wealthy. I don't want to hear any more excuses, we have had f*cking years of hearing excuses.
I just want this team to live up to its potential for once and to start as it means to go on and give us a team to be proud of. Not much to ask is it!

A man I never met personally, yet it feels like a death in the family.
Sums it up for me; still shocked and feeling very down today.
R.I.P. Markus mein Freund - danke schön für alles.

Anything as long as its lasting, tasteful and supported by his family IMHO... not for me to determine what is 'fitting'.
But as a suggestion, I think he would have liked the idea of something that has a legacy for the club and community... eg The Liebherr Academy so similar.
No problem with anything be it Stadium, statue or stand, but it needs to be lasting - we should never forget, what he did for us.
Well said Frank

Where have you got to go? I usually Park at Richmond, £13 for the day, although a colleague on mine drives into Hammersmith where it's a quid an hour he says. Traffic can be sh*t on the way out though if after 4ish.
Park in the Kings Mall multi-storey in Hammersmith - there are always spaces and from memory it's only about £8 for the whole day - then tube in. Oyster card is cheaper if you're just doing the one tube journey; travelcard better if you're going to be on and off the tube all day.

I think it will live forever!

Smirker, to get this back on topic. Hedge End you say eh? I can cofirm that he was on his way to that new BestBuy store on the retali park. My mate works there and told me that he had gone over to pre-order the latest gizmo from Apple, aimed at their younger customers. It's since been recalled and taken off of the shelves after Apple realised that a product called 'I-Touch Kids' was perhaps not the best idea they have ever come up with.
Idiots, I know but meh.
Well, I thought it was funny!

But if he doesnt find anything in the administration investigation he is hardly going to stich himself up by finding something he missed in the liquidation investigation. How do HMRC pick the bones then? Wont AA just sweep anything he missed under the carpet declaring there is nothing to see? How does HMRC or anyone else for that matter challenge what he doesn't find?
A question I would very much like the answer to!!

We had high expectations, but with that team we should have been comfortably in the hunt for automatic promotion and winning the League. Burley massively underperformed.

Only as much as HMRC adjusted the value of their claim
Or as much as Pompey inflated the size of their debt in just a few months?
-
"We will now carefully consider our position following the chairman's decision to reduce the amount of our claim for voting purposes."
So basically they rigged the vote then?

Many thanks for all the hard work - I like it on the whole, especially the new banner, and it seems to run quicker for me at least but as others have said I'd much prefer a proper worksafe scheme (Archive mode is crap!) - other than that good work and thanks again.
P.S. - can we have the old
smiley back please?!
this one is rubbish!

Nope.. they're still thinking about adding to the wage bill:

Speaking of our own - Post 18!
Or is it young Johnny himself?!

There was a Lancaster & Crooks on Bitterne Park Triangle, I think it is a bathroom shop now.
There was one in Tyrell & Greens back in the '70's. As a young lad it fascinated the hell out of me.
.
What about 'Wavy Line' these were probably the forerunners of the convenience store. There was one on the corner of Dimond & Manor Farm Roads, it was run by Mr & Mrs Emm. They used to have a penny sweet tray kept beneath the counter and you could take an old tanner (there's one for the old folks) in and get 2.5p worth of sweets, Usually 5 Black Jacks. \\:D/
Slightly off-topic as regards Southampton but there was a Wavy Line just round the corner when I was a kid in Petersfield; happy days!

Great idea Stu, I'd be interested.

Something we don't do which i think we should do is when the oppositions keeper comes to his goal (and it's in front of us) - this being either at the start of the game or after h/t (pretty obvious this bit but some on here are not the brightest) we all clap him like the good family club that we are. They dont always respond, butoften they do and clap back - whereupon you call him a ******. Great childish fun for all the family.Funny, I can remember this happening a lot more in the Archers back in the Dell days but you're right - never seems to happen these days

I'm shocked and appalled at all those voting for increased capacity ahead of the original Ted Bates statue.

Barcelona is lovely for an Autumn/Winter weekend break - beautiful city and loads to do. Wrap up warm though as after about mid-Nov it's colder than you expect!
