I ****ing hate Giroud.
-
Think we'll win this.
Please god you are right. This team and club needs a ****ing dose of positivity.
-
Without trying to be overly negative of a youth player, I don't understand why anyone would want Sims in the team for such an important part of the season. Looks so uncertain on the ball and other than one shot against Stoke his conviction looks even worse than our other attackers.
Not looked lacking in confidence to me. Almost scored against Burnley too but for a superb save by Pope.

Clearly clearly clearly he was Pellegrino’s man, he said himself when he signed he loved playing for him when they were together in Argentina, he even praised Pellegrino at every opportunity- https://www.google.co.uk/amp/readsouthampton.com/2018/03/09/carrillo-pellegrino-master/%3famp=1
Just take a step back for a minute to consider how much of a f*ck up January was:
We sold most expensive defender in the world to Liverpool
We didn’t sack Pellegrino
We used some of the money to well over spend on Pellegrino’s mate
A month later and we sack Pellegrino
Unbelievable Jeff.
Add to that list we failed to get in another CB (or even try to) leaving ourselves woefully exposed full stop and even more woefully exposed should our best remaining centre back get injured. Which he did. Then again HTF were we supposed to be wary of such a scenario, it's not like it happened twelve months previously or anything. Oh.....
For good measure add the abject failure to get some painfully, desperately needed attacking pace in the team. If we failed to get Promes which of course we did, where was the fecking back up plan. Where were all the black box options? I wonder if it offered up that Kenedy fella who went to Newcastle.
Carry on up the boardroom.

Perhaps Bertrand could fill in there. Although I didn't think he cared much today
Yes. He did it alright under Koeman. I'd be more confident in a back 5 the same as today but with Bertrand moved inside as part of a 3 and Mcqueen in at LB and no Stephens at all.
-
So Stephens is the new scapegoat.... Got to be one I suppose, it's the forum mob way...
It's not a case of scapegoating. It is just obvious that he isn't a competent centre back at this level. I still think he could make it as a midfielder. (Also I'm not sure that we have any competent centre backs at this level).
-
Unfair to criticise Stephens for the red IMHO, anyone would have reacted to having their shirt ripped off their back and it was hardly violent conduct, he only pushed him away !
Mcguire did the same thing yesterday after being pulled back by Gayle and only got a yellow. MOTD pundits were praising the ref for common sense in not sending him off.

Think i ve seen enough today to think that we will be OK.
I saw enough passion fight and attacking football to suggest we will start winning games very soon.
Agree but the nub of the problem is we've left it too ****ing long. FAR too ****ing long. We haven't got time to wait to "start winning games very soon" we need to win them NOW. Anyone with a 5th of a brain and zero footballing knowledge could've seen that Pellegrino wasn't up to it months ago. Yet instead of making the painfully obvious change we decide to give him January and the opportunity to buy the most pointless anti-footballer I have ever seen in Carillo like it was the only thing missing in his masterplan and it would all come good.

Taking yoshi off was a mistake that cost us. Should have been Stephens.
He's a young lad who needs games to develop. But yoshi is the better player and we can't afford to train Stephens this run in.
Fortunately he has been sent off. I honestly expect our defence to improve immeasurably.
Thought the same when he came off, can only conclude he was knackered due to lack of game time. If we want to go 3 at the back now stick Bertrand in there, he's done it before successfully and put McQueen in at LB.
-
If we deserved a point we'd have got one.
What a load of ****** that is tbf.
-
It's just too easy to score against us. 1 in 3 crosses results in a goal.
-
YESSSS!!!!!!! YES ****ING YES!!!! Come the **** on!!!!
-
We are creating chances, so definitely an improvement on last week's shambles
Much better in general but still far too weak at the back. IF we had a few winnable home fixtures instead of just one today's display would give hope we could stay up. Board should hang their heads in shame for taking so long to act.
-
I was one of the few who were brave enough to warn everyone that he is a massive malodorous bellend.
Yes, and now you are being proven correct in your assertions.
-
I think we will go all out next half and win this.
Your status as a visionary genius under the microscope now then.
-
JWP an absolute passenger so far.
Yoshida pathetic for their 2nd goal. Stand up, let the ball hit you and its not a goal.
They are gettable in defence but will score 4 against us so its irrelevant.
Yes, that was pathetic defending.
-
No Carrillo either
Wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) never to see him in a Saints squad again. What a joke of a signing.
-
This was a golden chance. I suppose all that is left is 'hope' and a large slice of luck. The phrase I coined a few years ago was 'sleepwalking to relegation'. Recently adopted by many, it is a good description of our downward trend.
Many neutrals find it odd that a team 8th last season could rapidly fall, but we know our 8th position gave a false impression in a very close and crowded mid table and really only masked problems that were building up for some time.
If only we'd had someone warning us this was happening. Then again, I expect he would have been ignored or, even worse, lambasted.
-
Who mentioned the great escape? Not me. I’m agreeing it’ll be a miracle if we stay up due to the fight in the players...
Exactly. Would be a great escape/miraculous escape in the context of how utterly **** and lacking in any kind of team spirit we are. Statistically it wouldn’t even be that much of an escape let alone a great one. Anyway, we ain’t escaping.

Very sad indeed. Always came across as such an amiable, friendly man. RIP fella.
-
Everyone really just assumes poor form will carry on forever.
Couldn't be more of a typical Arsenal fck up. They're doing ok, just won a banana skin game, have focus on Europa league, long journey to Moscow. It would be perfect Arsenal to throw in a loss to a Saints side who've barely turned up for half a season.
Should have beaten them at home even under Pellegrino. No reason we can't put on a performance here.
We haven't won away to Arsenal in the league since 1987. Just sayin'.

Hitting anyone regardless man or woman is disgusting
Also, why was she clapping the side?
1. Agreed.
2. Don't know.

What kind of a w@nker would do that. He must be ****ing hard as well hitting a woman "with all his might" and she's tweeting about it hours later.

Are the only options either go back up or do a Sunderland because the likelihood would be somewhere in between. I'd hazard a guess that we'd be like Ipswich and bumble around mid table.
I think it's likely to be a bit like last time to be honest. Bumble for a couple of seasons then plunge. Hopefully they'll be another Marcus waiting in the wings. FFS I cannot believe it's come to this so quickly after some great years.
