Striker per chance? Any possible names?
-
I don’t think we’re interested given his attitude in the last quarter of last season and there are better options out there.
-
Added interest in seeing how Ralph sets up the team - go 3 CB’s and Vardy & co will have a field day. Go 4231 with Aribo and Mara supporting Che with a high press and we’ve got a chance of at least a point or even a win. Let the youngsters express themselves on the pitch and it’ll do wonders. Keep Bednarek on the bench. So, either 2-0 or 1-2.
-
Since seeing a little more of Aribo and Mara I’ve modified my wish list from 2 strikers to a striker and a attacking midfielder. Get those and I think my prediction of 12th is achievable with or without Ralph, which is good because I don’t think he’s going anywhere just yet.
-
I think Iheanacho would be an excellent signing for us…him, Mara and Aribo linking up would be a mouth-watering prospect.
-
Mmm, yes and not from the sun…can’t stand the heat, get out the kitchen. Good advice for Bednarek.
-
It’s as clear as day that 352 or 5221 or whatever Ralph is trying is not suited to our players as it invites pressure on a shaky defence. Keep BJK and Salisu as two CB’s, give them the chance to bond, put Lavia and possibly Romeu in front of them as protection but place the emphasis on quick play out from the back to midfield and our forwards to put pressure on the oppo teams defence most of whom are as shaky as our lot anyway. Continue with the high press, but do it together and allow the fullbacks to assume their defensive positions. Easy this football thing is it not?!? 😂😉

On the face of it a good result given we looked poop for most of the game until Ralph decided to listen to good advice. Lavia and BJK were really good and deserved of starts every match. Bazunu showed why he is our new no.1. Found it very interesting to see Bednarek get withdrawn and sitting on the bench with his head in his hands. I wonder what’s going on there - it seemed a very strange thing to do…a nod to his unhappy position with Ralph perhaps?
-
Ralph still needs a reaming for allowing us to get to 0-2 down. We have the players now…just needs some balls to play the right formation and select the right team!
-
That was never a yellow - was miles away from the Leeds player who bought the foul.
-
Just so poor - no invention - no idea whatsoever. It’s time to go Ralph. No other option. You’ve got five subs and and you’re waiting for the other team manager to effect the game before doing something positive yourself.
-
What does that say about us when they’re looking the better team?
-
Leeds looking as on top and the home side. I don’t think we’ve had one shot on target which is f-big criminal at home. But Ketchup looks really good as does Lavia again. We desperately need more in attack, so hopefully Ralph has a plan to use Aribo and another attacking player taking off Bednarek.
-
Bamford looks crocked…good. It won’t help us mind…we look like the away side.
-
With a pressing Leeds team? Yeah right…let’s see how it plays out. Hoping for the win obviously.
-
Disappointing to see a back 5 at home to Leeds and Bednarek (Ralph’s toy) still being picked. If this goes tits up (which I think it quite easily could) I’m expecting it to get ugly and a renewed call for Ralph’s head. Leeds are a pressing team which means we could have trouble playing out from the back - see chances quite limited for our goal machine Che.
-
Let’s hope so, but likely to be a loan.
-
Vardy. Just to set Leicester fans into a spiral! Probably the type of striker we would look at, even if his legs are going. 🤣
-
Mmm, can’t remember with those two but just remembered Osvaldo…didn’t his contract get terminated?
-
Is it worth the trip Trousers? We’re going to Hawaii big island in December.
-
Guess it depends how good the Manager and coaches are in pulling together a disparate set of players. If they had so many on loan and performed well enough to get promoted, then there’s every chance the Manager will be very well versed in how to get the most from his new players. Whether it’s enough remains to be seen, but I think they could do well.
-
Yes and remember the last time we ended up with a big bloated squad of ‘also ran fillers’? Didn’t work out so well for us as I recall. What is interesting is that I seem to recall Ralph saying when he came in that he didn’t like large squads, so what’s changed? Trouble is you can only sell players to clubs that want them or release them from contract and I don’t think we’ve ever done that to a senior player have we?
-
Agree. At the last home game vs Liverpool there was a Pool supporter with his missus two rows in front of us giving it large most of the game. A few of us complained to a Steward who just had a “quiet word” and let them stay in their seats.
-
I don’t disagree there are specific instances where certain players can be seen to give less than 100%. My problem is tarring the entire team with the comment “the players didn’t give 100%”…it’s a gross over-simplification of multi-faceted problem and importantly doesn’t recognise that there are some players who do give 100%, but it’s not enough at EPL level which is not their fault. Giving a player abuse in that situation is hardly going to inspire him (or her) to try harder!
