SJ is almost certainly hearing about this stuff from the same source i did i'd imagine.
A consortium you say? But who would be interested in leading a consortium of a club by the sea
A Portuguese chap?

The fans had decided that they didnt like him. Thats fine, its all choice and opinion. Still doesnt get over the fact that he did very well
Weren't there rumours about the players also not being too keen, at least compared to Koeman? Maybe I've misremembered.

The various claims on owlstalk:
“My god will everyone chill
Danny is not going anywhere
An enquiry was made about the fee needed to talk to him
Southampton said NO
They are now trying to get him to do a Bruce and he is refusing to do so
He took training I am told and was asked by players what's going on
He told them he is committed to seeing the season out”
They claim that we’re going with Hjulmand, based on a “Well placed source who works in Media relations for Southampton”

I wonder if Rohls previous stint here will stop that before it even gets going. Whilst it was different owners, management and only a few players left it'll surely be on record somewhere.
What will the record say?

Carlos Vicens. Think there’s still a chance it happens but your info might be more recent than mine.
Not the first time he has changed his mind!
“On 6 May 2022, Eredivisie team Heraclesannounced that Vicens would take charge of its first team from 1 July 2022, after having signed a two-year contract.[8] However, in June, a few days after Heracles were relegated for the first time in 17 years,[9] Vicens mutually parted ways with the Dutch club, choosing to stay on at Manchester City instead.[10]”

This is something previously alluded to, but nothing further. Care to elaborate?
Seconded! I’ve always wondered what happened there.

Listened to the interview, and yes it's an interview, but doesn't seem the knobber that he's made out to be.
Based entirely off that interview I have really high hopes for him. I think he’s going to smash this league actually.

What was the reason for his delayed start with us when he joined?

Piroe seems an absolute no brainer to me. Proven goalscorer at this level and probably worth overpaying for
Agreed! But aren’t Che and Arma proven goalscorers at this level too?

Would be brilliant as we need a striker that can ACTUALLY score goals - but I'm not going to get too excited just yet as about six clubs (if not more) are interested in him. When was the last time someone chose Saints over a raft of other clubs? (Pre-Manning, I won't accept him as an answer!) We can only hope the Martin link is a strong one. He won't come cheap though.
When Jack Cork chose us as a newly promoted side to the Championship I believed we would go up. My memory is that we weren’t favorites for automatic promotion and he was also approached by clubs expected to do better than us, but it was so long ago I could be talking nonsense.

Did we ever find out what 'Romeo done" meant - or is that one for the kidz?
I always took it to be Romeo Dunn, he of So Solid Crew fame. Not so much one for the kids and a pretty obscure bit of rhyming slang even for those who remember the group.
Maybe I’m wrong though!

Seen this said a lot the past few months.
However...
"The first meeting was held at Anderton's Hotel in London on 23 March 1888 on the eve of the FA Cup Final. The Football League was formally created and named in Manchester at a further meeting on 17 April at the Royal Hotel. The name "Association Football Union" was proposed by McGregor but this was felt too close to "Rugby Football Union". Instead, "The Football League" was proposed by Major William Sudell, representing Preston, and quickly agreed upon."

we could hire poch and people would moan as he snaked us for spurs.
you quite literally cannot hire anyone without someone moaning, like me going on to moan about anyone who moans about marschs use of the word “soccer” despite it being a term used to describe football in britain for many years, causing a multiplier effect of moaning and inevitable relegation.
Agreed!
I always thought we invented the term soccer (association football) to distinguish it from rugger (rugby football). Quite why we then got annoyed at the rest of the world adopting it I’ve never understood.-

Absolutely, a number of small improvements may just make a big difference.
I'll hold my hands up and concede that there was contempt prior to investigation on my part. He's got me on side, and hopefully the players too.
Same here!

This. I’m sure he’s a nice enough chap, but he’s a marketing guy, he’s got zero experience of running a football club and neither has Steele. Whilst that’s not the be all and end all you can tell they’re corporate types out of touch with the fan base and don’t really get us or football fans in general. I can’t think of many specialised industries where youd get people in very senior positions with no industry experience. Yes I get at that level is about strategy and leadership not knowing Kevin and Sue from Shirley are pissed off because they can’t get an extra large twix in the kiosks but they seem to think we are an Arsenal or Chelsea with corporate and day trippers lining up to come along but we aren’t. The easiest customer to get is the one you already have but they seem oblivious to this and instead intent on doing as much as possible to annoy the existing fan base.
Bang on.

As others have said, it was originally reported that we beat Chelsea to his signature.
Something has clearly changed- either they’ve offered a significantly better package to him than they did before or something has happened here that has made him want to get out early.
Unusual.

As others have said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a crest design that I preferred to the one we have. One of the few updated crests I think are decent is Norwich and even that has only minor changes.
The silhouette is gash though, it’s not a particularly good shape to remove all detail from.

What exactly has Semmens done for so many to rate him?

I can’t seem to add the image, but if you go here
https://www.imgonline.com.ua/eng/make-negativeg.php
and choose the option to convert negative red and green
You get a red shirt with white lettering.
What was posted to Twitter is a bit like that away strip we had years ago (cartoon launch and Bertrand wearing it for the launch photos maybe) that was sort of teal and black stripes that were just the negative colours of our red and white home strip. Same principle.
figured it out

The badge and logos are back to front and there is a green tint/filter over everything in the image including the back to front club badge. I think we can be pretty confident it is this season's kit!
