However, Holmes comments are lauded with "wow, look what he's saying, isn't life at SFC so great" and gospel, whereas a different view from Puncheon was greeted with "the blokes a tosser" Surely they both have the same inside info, so why is one view, ironically the one everyone wants to believe greeted with slaps on the backs and the other, the one not so popular greeted with howls of derision?

Probably for the same reason that fans swear blind that 50-50 tackle was definitely a penalty, the opposition's goal was miles offside or that their local rivals are all inbred.

Fans are biased towards their own team so will tend to listen to something which supports that bias rather than denies it. Whether you agree with them or not, you must surely see that.
