  1. No winter break please. If the little darlings want to play less football, I'd like to see something like this.

Scrap the league cup (winning it doesn't make you the best knock out team in England so why bother?) Start the FA Cup earlier in the season, with more prem and championship teams in early rounds. No replays.

Scrap the Europa league (winning it doesn't make you the best team in Europe so why bother?). Spread the Champions League out and have the knock out stages after the domestic season. Like it's own world cup. All teams still in go to the host country and play games every 3/4 days.

    Reduce amount of international friendlies.

Wildcard, I'd like to see a World, league Vs league style tournament every other summer. Prem XI Vs La liga XI, Bundesliga XI Vs Serie A XI for example. That would raise more TV money that some ****ty friendly tourno in Asia.

  2. How do people not want Boufal in the team? The only player who looked like creating last night. Exciting every time he's on the ball. Even his miscontrols take us in to better positions than anyone else can manage. Tadic is awful. Cautious, pedestrian and boring.

  3. 23 goals and 13 assists in 2 Premier League seasons before this one. Yeah Deeney is well ****. Would've taken him here above Carillo. He's a bully. Strong, quick, good in the air, and takes pens. And would probably stick around if we went down, and get the goals to get us back up. Happy with Carillo for now, but I can't understand the idea that Deeney wouldn't have been a good signing.

  4. If we don't change the manager, we will be relegated. There is absolutely no reason to think Pellegrino has the skill set to turn this around. Maybe Silva won't keep us up. But I refuse to believe that there isn't a manager somewhere in the league/country/world that could get us the 4/5 wins needed to save us. In fact, I believe there are probably several such managers. I can't understand why we wouldn't at least role the dice on someone like Silva. Worst thing that happens is we continue not getting any points and still get relegated. At the very least we should offer him a deal with a get out clause if we go down, and a bonus if we stay up. Beggars belief that some fans wouldn't want that.

  5. Is that true? Pardew has actually had a fair amount of success as a manager, and his teams seem to go through patches of form, good and bad alike. All West Brom need is one purple patch... I think his biggest problem is that he has inherited a side built by Tony Pulis, I'm not sure those players are good enough to start playing a different way. Carvalhal took Sheffield Wednesday to the play offs twice in three seasons. And he's won 1 match out of 1 so far. Don't know much about him but seems a bit premature to write him off as worse than Clement. I think both will struggle to stay up, but can still see them finishing above us.

All we need is one purple patch. My point isn't that they are bad managers, just that their results haven't improved under new leadership. Whereas WHU, Palace, Leicester and Everton all have.

  6. Hmm this could be an issue for us..the last thing we need is Stoke getting their act together.

O Neil would keep them up I have no doubt, they haven't got bad players and he'd organise them.

We also have them as one of our three winnable home games left so an organised Stoke coming to town, even if they are only here for a draw, is two points we can't afford to drop.

This is it. The line "there are at least 3 teams worse than us" only rings true if sides like Stoke don't improve. They will. Of course they will. They'll finish above us unless we get rid of Pell I have no doubt. We are lucky that Swansea and Wba seem to have gone from bad to worse with their managerial changes. Sadly that still leaves 1 place staring us in the face. I'd be extatic with O Neil, and happy with Rowett. God knows what it will take for us to pull the trigger though. Early march, Kelvin as caretaker till the end of the season probably.

  7. Pretty much, it shouldn't really be a surprise that we're strugging to score goals when those are our creative force. Boufal and Hoj should play every week for me, let them build up some understanding and form. Midfield 3 of Hoj, Lemina with Romeu sitting deepest. Boufal playing off of Gabbiadni and.....our new signing...(whoever that may be). Push Cedric and Bertrand forward to create the width, get Hoj and Lemina to cover full back when they push forward as they're the most mobile. We kinda played that way against Everton at home and it worked, but then we changed it again.

Although one positive, we haven't had many blanks recently.......it's just the other end that is screwed now.

Seen this talk of a mystery signing twice now. Where's it from? Itk on here?

  8. The panel were pretty damming on soccer Saturday today. All stated that some of the squad do not appear to care and they gave up after 25 mins at Liverpool. Charlie Nicholas said that the club were going nowhere under current regime. Also lots of talk re our formation and le tiss said it was pretty obvious it wasn’t working. Apparently the 7th most expensive squad out of the top six big teams to. That’s worrying.

7th out of 6 feels about our level ATM.

  9. Boufal has shown 4 flashes of brilliance to me in the last year. Cracking goals Vs Boro and Sunderland, an incredible skillful run Vs Arsenal in the League Cup and a great run Vs Barnet (?) In a pre season friendly. 4 flashes of quality. No it's not a lot. But he's only played 1200 minutes of football in the EPL. Too early to right him off. No one is suggesting he's DEFINITELY the answer to our creative/scoring woes, but continuing with Redmond and Tadic is even less likely to fix it. They're picked no matter what **** they serve us up. So why can't we try Boufal for a few games? What's the worst that could happen? We can't score less goals. And from what I've seen of him he puts more effort in tracking back than Tadic.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

  10. This is the team we should be playing. Maybe the 'black box' can conjure up another forward to play with Gabbiadini 1fd1ecce74f588e9f38af8f7da1d0029.jpg

With a target man in place of Long, we would finally look like a team with some real physicality. Set pieces might even become worth having again. New guy, Vvd, Hoot, Yoshida and Romeu. Still not convinced by tadic though. Would like to see Boufal given a run but otherwise that team looks strong.

  11. Woman absolutely have the right to play any sport they wish. But the reason I rarely watch any of it, is because I want to watch the pinnacle of sporting talent. Same reason that I wouldn't want to sit and watch a League 2 match on a Tuesday night or something. (obviously it's different when you support the team). If true equality is what people want, we should try mixing genders in sports. How many woman would make the England football or cricket teams? How many would make the cut at the Open? How would Williams get on Vs Federer? I haven't seen too much recently about wanting equal pay but if true that would be an insult to men's sport imo.
