  1. Deppo, it would be nice to occassionally discuss a thread.
  2. Stop going all PC on me. The study is about the brains left wingers and right wingers. Now you can talk about the different traits, but ultimately it boils down to intelligence. It was right wingers that built not only Briatin, but the whole Western civilisation, into the prosperous civilisation we see today. You can waffle and bleat all you like, but you cannot get away from this fact.
  3. This video perfectly illustrates the brainpower of the average leftie.
  4. So much for discussing the topic sensibly SuperdooperMikey.
  5. It's a fact Mikey. "Right-wing brains 'different'" is the title of the article, and forget all the politically correct rubbish, the fact is that right-wingers have built the Western World into the prosperous civilisation that we are. Left-Wingers may well be more caring in their own eyes (they have very lofty views of themselves) but without the right-wing wealth creation that we've benefitted from that caring would be very hard to put into meaningful practice.
  6. The article focuses on the brain and quite clearly left wingers are not as intelligent as right wingers. Left wingers weren't the force behind the Industrial revolution and left wingers didn't build an Empire that the sun never set on. Our prosperity today is built on these foundations and it's right wingers we have to thank for it.

This is why I like Vodafone (my largest holding) and ITV. In the case of the former I love it how leftie types hate the company because they are shrewd in paying less tax than they might, and in the case of ITV Adam Crozier is running the show and he took a Socialist dinosaur of a company (Royal Mail) and turned it around and didn't give a **** about Union types. He took their bleatings in his stride and did what he knew was best. Willy Walsh is another CEO that I admire.
  8. I think left wingers are very thick and very jealous. "They'd rather the rich were poorer and the poor were poorer so long as the gap is smaller". These are the immortal words of Margaret Thatcher and they are bang on the money. Personally I believe that the best way of raising living standards for the poor is through enterprise, and to create enterprise you need to allow the rich to preserve their wealth so they can invest in small businesses.

Exactly. That's the point I was making which Verbal didn't get. If you look at the Desire chart it's up and down like a yo yo. Buy on bad news and sell before the next update as the SP rises in anticipation. Of course you'd miss out when/if they do strike black gold. It may drop a bit tomorrow, but looking at the balance of todays trades i'd say the current SP 42.5p is a good entry point. Catching a falling knife is always dodgy, so maybe give it a few hours tomorrow and see whether it's bottomed out.

If you'd read my post properly you'd have understood what I was saying.

I've got Desire on my watch list (but can't buy in through an ISA). It's taken another hammering today after another poor operations update, but i'd really love to buy some. All you've got to do is buy after a poor update and sell just before an update. Bahamas Petroleum slid today to a great buy price imo and they are one i'd also love to buy in, but again it won't let me through an ISA.

Mine was down 0.6%. Arian Silver up again today. I wish i'd not sold so soon. ^ 67% since I tipped it.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if it was The Sun
  15. You cannot compare a firing squad with shooting a fox. A fox isn't stood against a wall, it's a moving target and therefore I think it's less humane to shoot a fox because there's a chance it will be maimed and it will die slowly. With hunting it either lives or it dies. That is natures way.
  16. I enjoy fly fishing and carp fishing. When fishing for carp I only use barbless hooks, an unhooking mat to proect them (if necessary) and never put them in a keep net, when I fish for trout I use barbed hooked flies because I don't return them and a tap on the head with a priest and they're dead instantly. Playing the fish is good sport and it's fun and it's nice to spend a day at one with nature (with a few beers). Do you object to this?
  17. That rules out desireable tenants then.
  18. I'd have imagined a private estate agent/letting agency would be the way to go. If it was me i'd follow the crowd and use whoever has the most business because that would suggest they are trusted.
  19. With the ammount of people living in England now there's few places it could survive in the wild now. Yet another price we've had to pay for our open door immigration policy.

I've change my tune about gold/silver. With India emerging (and they love their ott jewelry) I can see the spot price not declining as the global economy picks up. It will stop rising soon though I think as investors pull out of gold.

No. I'm in a consolidating mood and am liking the looking of (and have bought into) Vodafone. I think they're quite nicely price atm (with potential for a moderate rise and a good divi) and they're a safe bet. Equally i'm increasing my holding in MKS.
  22. A few more pics including the golden eagle that the hunt take out with them to comply with the law. Unfortunately sometimes the hounds make the kill, but because they have the eagle the intent was clearly to use it.
  23. Battery farming doesn't have a pleasure element to it so that makes it OK. Oh and there's no jealous social prejudices to satisfy.
