It is supposed to have been spruced up recently so I expect it's not quite like this now (i hope).
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P39UKEfFIzE&feature=related]YouTube - Why islam prohibits eating Pork? with proofs from the Bible and medical science.
  5. Christians shouldn't eat pork either according to Leviticus.
  6. Thanks, and what are characteristic of swine and humans that makes disease being spread between the two worse than between human and other meats? I am actually researching the volcanic eruption on Santorini, but the discussion has digressed when we got onto the subject of noah/mount ararat and gods creation of swine to eat the excrement created.
  7. I am currently debating swine on an islamic forum and am in need of some medical advice on the subject. Why is pork particularly dangerous to eat for humans when it's off and what makes pork different to other meats in this respect?
  8. The Ash cloud was "an act of god" and therefore you'd have to have pyschic powers to have forseen this, but it is a good example of the risk you take when organising your own package. As it goes I will always organise my own packages where sheduled flights are available in stable economic times so you were unlucky in this respect and Monarch are one of my favourite airlines - there's something reassuring about flying with an airline with royal conotations.
  9. Don't get me started on this rip off tax.
  10. But will the new owner(s) be willing to allow Cortese to bite his nose to spite his face, or to be more precise damage the clubs revenue stream to spite his face? We do not yet know whether the new owner(s) will want to be completely hands off - they are not approaching retirement, so I feel that Cortese is not in the same position of authority as he was last week.
  11. That is not an entirely fair comment although I agree that organising your own package 'can be' more cost effective, but not in all instances. In many cases it's more cost effective using a tour operator especially where there is not a low budget scheduled air service. Your comment also fails to take account of the added risk of organising your own trip in these uncertain times. The main components of any holiday are the flight and the hotel - 1) choosing a carrier isn't straightforward in these uncertain times as you have to weigh the risk of the carrier folding against the price they are asking with the more cost effective carrier to a given destination possibly being the carier most at risk. That said Ryanair are one of the safest airlines to book with so there are no rules which apply as a definite. 2a) choosing a safe agent with whom to book your hotel room is also not safe as you are most involving three agents in this process - the handler (usually an internet company with questionable contactability and no reputation as such), the facilitator (the company that block book the rooms), and the hotel itself. If any one of these components fail you're in trouble. 2b) Alternatively you can book directly with the hotel but again there is a risk and you will have no representation should things go wrong and the cost of direct booking is generally more expensive than using a company that block books rooms. In short during uncertain times it is wise to pay a little bit more and use a large tour operator.
  12. The fact is that it is a measure that can be applied in assessing the overall health of the club, just like the US unemployment figures are a measure that can be applied in assessing the overall health of your country.
  13. On the subject of the club photographs does anyone else think they are amateurish? I think the apperture is too high in most of them, what do you think?
  14. Cortese strikes me as the type that is never wrong, so it would not surprise me if this situation drags on for some time yet. This has become a big issue (I don't think Cortese was very clued up as to how this would inevitably pan out) and he's now in a position where if he backs down he'll lose face. It would not surprise me if Cortese left the club to avoid being seen u-turning.

Like i said my hotel isn't where the riff raff go.
  16. As far as AP is concerned it's likely to be 3 points or a P45.

Side, pronounced See day. 5 star spa hotel, unthemed, no riff raff.
  18. Not a "must win" game, but a "could do with winning" game. The worrying thing is that I don't think Pardew has the ability to regroup once things go wrong - that's why he's never long in a job.
  19. Cortese wanted him out last season (in my opinion) and should have sacked him then. Last season was all about rebuilding and this season we should have been firing on all cylinders from the off. We have gone backwards and don't look like we'll threaten the play-offs let alone automatic promotion. Unless results improve instantly a change needs to be made or we'll have wasted this season.
  20. It has to be Alan Shearer. He will go down in history as one of the best centre forwards ever.
  21. Guly has only got one ball.
  22. I thinks there's a lot of untruths in the report. If this player was good enough for Serie A he wouldn't be playing for us. I hope he is good for us though, but I can't get Augustin Delgado out of my head.

Long may it continue as where i'm going in Turkey isn't far from the border with Syria.
  24. The problem with a lot of Corteses decisions are that they are not thought through. The £3 ticket tax for example was just a profiteering exercise to rip off fans that want to order tickets over the phone. However much in the same way that ban on photographers was a profiteering exercise, both **** people off and both can cost the club money. In the case of the photographer ban the result will mean that firms who pay to advertise will receive less exposure so they won't be getting as much for their money - this is a negative against using the club, in the case of the ticket tax it's an extra cost which bumps up the cost of watching the club which coupled with poor results (as we have seen) will make me and others think twice before going to a game.
