I think it's fair to say there will be tensions throughout the length of the parliament, but what I believe will hold it together is the fact that if the coalition collapses it will adversely affect the Liberals at the polls. So long as the electoral comission sort out the constituencies so that they no longer unfairly favour Labour it's my belief that any collapse will result in a Conservative majority government.
-
I don't doubt there is disquiet, but the Budget will go through.
-
I don't disagree with you, but the fact remains that the crisis, the deficit and the mountain of debt happened on Labours watch. The Libservatives have been elected to deal with it and just like in 1979 i'm confident that David Cameron will rise to the challenge and emulate Margaret Thatcher as one of greatest PM's this country has ever had.
-
So you're admitting it was Labours fault. I respect your honesty.

OK, i think the thing I use is the Nortons one.

Oh and i've just noticed the spot price for Gold has hit another all time high today. If only Brown hadn't sold our gold reserves (against the advice of the experts) then perhaps the cuts wouldn't have needed to be quite so deep....

Life isn't fair, but I believe the Conservatives will make the right decisions. I agree that in an ideal world the bankers and fat cats would be hit hard, but as Alistair Darling rightly argued you cannot implement unilateral action because all that will happen is that the banks and other sectors will move abroad. Britain needs to start to working again and it's the private sector that will get us out of this mess.
-
10 or 20 years ago this would have been a story.
-
It was your Labour lot that failed to regulated the banks. 13 years and they failed. How you've got the gaul to lecture on the deficit is beyond me. It was your party that put us in this mess.
-
Which government presided over the creation of the deficit?

The price hikes, sneaky add-ons, total indifference to us "customers", spat with the Echo, and the rather strange hold up in building the new training ground are a clear sign of what's to come. It's great having a team that looks to have turned the corner, but the price we are having to pay for that will, i fear, see the club become more of a luxury treat than a way of life.

£113 and rising lol. In a seasons time the shirt/boots would never achieve such an amount.
-
Agreed. Combine the booking tax with let's say 1/20 of let's say £20 and essentially you're potentially paying a £4 premium on top of the ticket price. If memberships are £30 then under the same equation you're looking at £4.50 extra per ticket. For fans that intend to make 10 games the cost is even higher. This whole Ryanair business model is not an ethical business model and i'm surprised at Markus Liebherr for allowing his name to be associated with such practices.

That's what astounds me about this happy clappy place. The whole "who cares if Cortese shafts us" attitude is quite bemusing. But I do know that given time the likes of Dulldays will change their tune as has always been.
-
I hope David Cameron is Thatcher Mark II because that is exactly what this country needs right now. Aside from a few rabid left wingers (most of who seem to reside on this forum ) the general public are not stupid and they realise that Britain is broke, Britain needs fixing, and the Conservatives are the party that delivers on the economy. David Cameron and his team have been upfront and honest which is a breath of fresh air after 13 awful years under Labour and I think people appreciate this.
-
I blame Mrs Terry.
-
The public sector needs shaking up and where possible privatising. Surely you can see this?
-
Ultimately everything boils down to supply and demand. Once demand exceeds supply the I predict the WUM's on here will change their tune when it's £50 a game.

Did you see the clip of Henry on the bench looking totally disinterested in the full knowledge he wasn't part of the plans. Leaving him on the bench was joke and clearly the manager is a joke. As to your statement if the England team did that i'd be fuming, but there are clearly frictions in our camp too with Capello losing the squad.
-
To be fair the French manager seems to be a ****.

As it goes I think members of the armed forces should receive preferential treatments in many areas - including football tickets. I'm not having a go at Dulldays and I did make a point of stateing he probably misses more games than he'd like due to his job. That all said it doesn't alter the fact that memberships are a con and are not necessary. All they are is another charge that the club can make for nothing other than an elevation in the pecking order for tickets. Oh and the 10% discount on pizzas etc..
-
I'll get a membership, but only because i'll need one for just in case we reach Wembley etc. Without one people like you would get a ticket first depsite the fact I will have attended more games.
-
I think the way Cortese has treated some fans over season tickets is arrogant and uncompassionate, but my real beef with him is the booking fee. The current system of not having memberships is fine because most of us have a customer number. The reality is that with memberships the only difference will be that people like Delldays (who hardly go - and clearly his job means he can't go regularly) have a pass to jump the queue. Essentially all memberships are is reward card that rewards the ability to pay for one, not the loyalty of attendance.
-
It's not like memberships are a new thing to us. They've always been a rip off scam. It's like paying extra at Alton Towers to jump the queue to get on the big dipper before others. Of course the club will market them as a discount card and will tie in with some local businesses, e.g 10% off a pizza wen you spend £50 or more at pizza hut, but essentially all they are is another way of squeezing more money out of fans for nothing. The £3 booking tax is the same.
