Running low on players, and complaining about having a threadbare squad? Why not loan out one of your first team regulars? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swindon_town/9057673.stm EDIT: Too slow

I imagine they couldn't wriggle out of Kanu's verbal agreement re the one year extension. Probably gave him the 3 year contract, but reduced his weekly wage.
-
I've played the 360 version, and was equally unimpressed. Would be interested in trying the PS3 version with Move, however - might overcome some of the controller issues. Just a shame I'm not going to fork out stupid money to get it!
-
Though it looks like the Rocha and Kanu deals have got the go ahead today.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/O39Brien-goes-out-on-loan.6522180.jp So despite moaning about a threadbare squad, and lacking cover for positions, they send their third choice 'keeper out on loan? Words fail me... Or are they getting ready to announce David James returning on a £35k pw emergency loan deal?
-
"push the boat out a little" I love the way he's so blasé about it!
-
And doesn't that mean the embargo lasts until then too?
-
Yes, the "mid-week" announcement doesn't really leave much time before the weekend.
-
They keep on going on about Naughton, The News in particular. I'm pretty sure he was named in Spurs' 25 man squad, which, to me, rules out a loan move...
-
OK, Adkins is now 4/7 favourite with SkyBet. From 4-1 to 4/7 in a couple of hours. Interesting. Sky haven't announced that he's been approached, have they?
-
Seems a bit of money has gone onto Nigel Adkins of late (SkyBet). Don't recall his odds being that low.

Official site says that kitson signed a 3-year deal, and Lawrence signed a 4-year one. So Pompey must be paying all wages, although I would imagine Stoke compensated them for taking a drop in wages. You would think they are close to the £10kpw limit, though.
-
A brilliant moment on SSN this evening re the Wilson deal. When the reporter outside the Britannia stadium announced that Kitson and Lawrence were leaving, there was a big cheer from the crowd of Stoke fans around him. Then he revealed that the transfer hadn't gone through as smoothly as was hoped, because Lawrence and Kitson didn't want to go to Portsmouth.

I think today could be more entertaining than waiting for the appeal decision. So that's Pack gone, with Wilson, Nugent, and Smith all on their way out. And no replacements? With only an hour and a half to go? Tick-tock...
-
Brilliant quote from Handy Andy re Wilson: "Quite frankly, we have no need to sell him at the moment" I can think of a few million reasons... And possibly the fact that "As it stands, the Blues still need another £4m to meet their £12m target from summer player sales. This money is earmarked for working capital to keep the club running while it still awaits an owner to be put into place".

From: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/12/balram-chainrai-portsmouth-owner I can see it now: "Well we had to sign matey on £20k pw, FL, because you forced us to do it".
-
Did I miss this? They've been granted special dispensation to sign another three players? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Vanden-Borre-set-for-Pompey.6465702.jp

I had a case conference in London today, across the road from the Royal Courts of Justice. Came out just before 5, and checked my phone for the result. Walked passed the courts whilst finding out HMRC had lost, and 5 o'clock struck. The bells around the courts started ringing out the Pompey chimes. Says it all really

Not sure if it's the same with appeals, but with prosecutions you usually get the choice to open or close your case. There are limited circumstances where you can do both. The defence usually has the last word.
-
Doesn't sound good!
-
That site looks like it was knocked up by a 12 year old. And a Yahoo email address?
-
Although it goes against all logic and reason, I wouldn't be surprised if they won the appeal tomorrow. Although that's probably just the pessimist in me talking.
-
It's making Lampitt look like a muppet.

"Hey, we've just wiped out over £100 million in debt, and here's our reasonably high profile new manager!". The announcement so soon after the CVA was announced just highlights the fact that the CVA was just a formality - seems to me that it was getting approved no matter what happened on Thursday.
-
Anyone else find this absolutaly disgusting? From: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Hart-rejected-CVA-proposals.6370300.jp Perhaps, Mr Andronikou, they weren't happy with being shafted by your pathetic CVA?
