FFS! The goalie spills it and our players have all turned their backs! Nobody following in? Really? Schoolboys, are we???
-
I'd have started all 4 (instead of Davis, Long, Romeu & JWP - even though JWP has played ok-ish), but we only have 3 subs so someone will be disappointed. Probably Gabbi.
-
Time for a dressing room mutiny. Ignore the manager, get a player in charge (Bertrand?), make changes and come out firing!
-
Optimism returning... I hope so, too!
-
It's like watching a clueless, directionless U.10 team. Players up front either running away from the ball or standing in a nice line that's easy to block & defend against. Nobody to pass to, as a result. No ideas. No risks. No creativity. No goals. Ah, but 1 yellow card now.
-
I know. And we're not even playing to Long's strengths - drawing out the defence and playing low through balls for him to run onto. Just terrible. At least Hoj is trying - really unlucky there.
-
More half-decent build up play, then an awful final ball in. We're so easy to defend against: predictable, and not even incisive when it gets to the important bits.
-
Great ball in JWP. Their defender matches it. Corner... ...nahp! Rubbish, back to McCarthy!
-
Penalty BHA.. ...dammit!

So, what would be the best scoreline for us tomorrow? Any defeat or draw isn't good enough, so what kind of win would settle us or give us confidence? 1-0... too edgy, never convincing 2-1... edgy on a 'Watford' scale 2-0... nervous until the final whistle 3-1... Bit more confident, but they scored so defence isn't right 3-0... 'proper' win, clean sheet - this does it for me (or is it a false dawn...?) 4-1 or better... hopes raised too much? Everton, anyone?
-
Thank you. We did look good, dominated to all intents and purposes. But all those missed opportunities to seal it, then Watford getting a couple of late chances, I was nervous watching the highlights knowing we'd won! You see, I think we're actually a pretty decent side, but we seem to have a real problem converting goalscoring chances. Hoj off the post, Long several 'couldn't quite reach', Cedric a couple close, Tadic could've scored before Stephens poked it in. Maybe Carrillo will make a difference, especially if played alongside Gabbi. Here's hoping.

Especially after their late equaliser last time (however controversial it was).

The idea is to comment on the game, the players, the club... You've only commented on the forum comments. I know I'm commenting on your comment about the comments, but I often do comment about the game and so on, so I'm curious as to when you might also comment on the game/players/club etc. Do commence!

In London. Having reached the edge of Berlin.
-
Hurrah! A 1-0 win!! Still playing same old dodgy tactics though, it seems. Well done, the players!
-
Who's gonna give him the ball? Tadic & Boufal both off.
-
Being out of favour did Hojbjerg a world of good - look how he's played this season. Maybe Redmond will do similarly?

Current players who remind you of former players

I'm 5'6", played 3 seasons goal in Sat/Sun local Yeovil league Div 4 (ok, 15 years ago when I was still taller standing up than lying down). Mind you, I have sharp elbows and a loud voice (I'm a teacher) and a defence that did as they were f***ing told, so everyone just got the f*** out the way! The 18 yard box was MY area, not the piffling 6 yard tin can. Proud to be lowest goals conceded in the league 2000/01 season... ... and I came for more crosses than FF!! -
Obafemi is on. Go on, son, impact time!
-
Uh-oh, we seem to be sitting back. Here we go...
-
Good change. Trusting Lemina's fitness. Hoj worked hard as usual. Need some spark going forward - come on, Boufal.
-
We'll get a red card today, before Dembele gets a yellow - that will happen near the end of the game once it doesn't matter.
-
Even comm saying Dembele is 'untouchable' - at least that's how I heard it.
-
That'll be it. Surprised JWP wasn't carded for leaving his foot in earlier - even though he was being rugby tackled at the time. Dembele will have his fouls reset at half time so nothing in the 1st half will count towards a potential card. All Saints fouls will be carried over.
