He’ll be going, because he wants to leave.
If it wasn’t about money, he’d sign the new contract that’s been on the table for months.
Ah, I didn’t know that about the contract.

Saints aren’t selling Dibling to Everton. He was one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League last season and can see the club only wanting him to go to a premium team to shine a positive light back on the academy. A big six or a European giant should be his destination if he is going.

I really like the look of this guy. A great bit of business on a free transfer, too.

Trump joining Chelsea’s trophy presentation is up there with the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. He just refused to leave. Haha.

Brum will walk the league, IMO. They’re on the same ascendancy as we were in 2011 and Ipswich more recently. Leicester will be up there, too.

Welcome, Paul.
If we struggle out of the starting blocks, it’s proof we’re Still Trollope.

You are forgetting that we are in the Championship, players can be utter gash in the Prem and still do a good job in this league, Russel Martin got promoted with mostly the same players.
The squad definitely needs freshening up but I think there is plenty for Still to work with.
Yeah but these players are the second worst team ever to play in the Premier League, and looked second rate against teams in lower divisions. It will be hard to shake off.

No. Someone possibly wanting something does not mean the owners of that thing have put it up for sale.
Sounds like you’re naive, mate.

So does this confirm we’re up for sale, then?

Strong first interview from him i thought. He's calm and unassuming, but you can see how his self confidence and belief has grown across his numerous interviews so far. I do think that dealing with our dressing room (morale / exits / turnover) and the pressures of immediate promotion will be a significant challenge for him (and to me, this is where the risk lies), but his general man malmanagement and tactical nous seem to be his strong points. Over to him and Spors now for what needs to be a very strong summer - but so far, Spors has made solid moves and hit any targets i could have set (i.e., sort out the recruitment team after SR/ RA previously gutted it, and made a solid managerial appointment - all in good order before the summer). It seems like we're in safe hands post Solak getting more involved / shaking the tree.
I’m hoping we will have a massive clear out. Regardless of who we bring in under Still, it’s imperative we shift a few players who we know are not up to standard and never will be.

If you’d have told me we’d be finishing the season three places below Spurs, I’d have bitten your hand off.

I must admit the lack of updates re Still has me worried. He will have plenty of suitors.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Cleverly.

Just get it done, Saints.

But that’s the problem isn’t it???
He most likely would get Leicester promoted but he is not capable of winning in the Premier League. Leicester would likely do what you guys did & stick with him to long & complete the chain & get relegated again. Leicester and Southampton both need to hire a manager that can get them promoted and also keep them in the premier.
I wish Martin well. We would’ve done a lot better under him in the Premier League if we recruited quality. Granted, Fernandes and Ramsdale have been top drawer but we really needed a full-scale revamp. Too much faith was put on those who helped get us promoted but clearly are not Premier League standard.

It’s interesting how Solak‘s ousting emerged just a few weeks after the claims we were up for sale.
