Was a big mistake by the FA to move the right saway from the BBC. When will people learn the BBC is just the best and that we are lucky to have it rather than just moaning about it.

I don't think the BBC have had the rights to England away games for ages have they? They've been on Sky for years. BBC used to get the highlights, but those are on ITV now so no big change there.

Remember with those systems St Landrew gave a link to, that they aren't DVD players.

That's why they don't take the payment straight away.

They only overtook you because we pushed them over the line. They were awful and there was a real risk of us winning by an o.g. or some other fluke. In the second half our defence stopped tackling them and they still couldn't score. Matt Taylor threw himself on the ball rolling it around between his arms whilst looking at the ref but he just wouldn't blow. In the end Linvoy had to turn his back on Horsfield so he could score. You could have beaten them 25-0 and we'd still have gone down. You 'letting' West Brom win relegated Crystal Palace, not us.

 

Following on, can you buy just the unit without speakers then? Ive searched but cant find anything.

There are a couple on Richer Sounds, but I think they were about £250 when I looked earlier. If you don't want so many speakers, there are some decent 2.1 systems about nowadays.

In general I agree with you, but we hardly won any home games last season and were getting about 5k more fans per match.

I fear that once fans stop going, it's hard to get them to come back.

Percentage attendance figures mean precisely naff all.

 

Just to illustrate this fact to the mathematically retarded, Barcelona's is 57.9%.

I'm pretty sure that Barcelona fiddle their attendance figures somehow. I went to a game there a couple of years ago and it was pretty much full, but the official attendance was about 30k below capacity.

Why are you so obsessed with Flybe going bust? As several of us told you last week, they only announced big profits recently.

One thing I would dispute regarding David Luker's numbers, is the assumption that revenue only consists of the ticket price. Is he seriously saying that getting more people at matches does not lead to increased food, drink, and megastore sales? I'm sure they must have done the research, and I guess the sums didn't add up, but he's portraying things in too simplistic a manner.
