I never pretended to like Koeman but he was a far better manager than Puel . I would try 3 CB's to try and shore up the defence and try to use a midfield which is able to retain the ball . Playing Prowse and Davis means Romeu is our sole defensive midfielder. This invites more pressure on our defence . Thanks for the constant insults Always SFC . Ah yes , anyone with a different opinion is clueless . No thread is complete without an Always insult . The amount of excuses people protect Puel with is incredible . According to some the manager is not responsible for the squad he picks , the formation he chooses , the tactics he employs , the motivation of his players etc . Its bizarre . I am genuinely stunned you think Puel is anywhere near as good as Koeman . I didn't rate Koeman when he admitted he didn't know why we were losing so many games . I agree with you . He is severely limited but surely with that being obvious to everyone , Puel should try to replicate the conditions in which he has been known to thrive ( ok thrive may be an exaggeration ) . Long needs help but Puel rarely seems to change anything . He doesn't seem to adjust the team to suit the opposition. Many fans seem to want Puel to buy the squad he wants but they may be forgetting that we rarely buy without selling first . The excuses made for Puel are incredible. We all knew Long was only effective in certain ways . Puel has never tried to use a formation that suits Long but its still Long thats blamed . Just out of interest , is anything Puels fault ? Yes we have had injuries but even when we didn't have serious issues we were poor . Who was responsible for the change to a formation that didn't suit us ? Who was responsible for rotating like crazy but sticking with Redmond played out of position ? Very few players have improved under Puels ' coaching ' . Gabbi may have scored but we we poor elsewhere . Without Gabbi we are poor again . Where is the improvement from Puel ?
