Wonder which league FC Pompey will be allowed to join? I can't believe for a second that any of the professional leagues would admit them, the closest comparible example is AFC Wimbledon had to start in tier nine. IMO they will need to start in one of the following leagues: Conference National (Blue Square Premier) - tier 5 Conference South (Blue Square South) - tier 6 Southern League Premier (Zamaretto Premier) - tier 7 Southern League South & West (Zamaretto Div 1 S&W) - tier 8 Wessex League (Sydenhams Football League [Wessex]) - tier 9 Depending upon the league FC Skates enter, I imagine Saints fans might boost the attendance of some of the following local derbies: Conference National: Salisbury Conference South: Eastleigh Southern League Premier: Bashley Southern League South & West: AFC Totton Wessex League: Totton & Eling; Blackfield & Langley; Newport (IOW); Romsey; Winchester; Lymington; Brockenhurst; New Milton; Cowes

Nice idea, but 'public sector' & 'overtime'?

Just basic reports stating what we already know... 'HMRC now scrutinising' etc: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7258975/Portsmouths-finances-scrutinised-by-Inland-Revenue-officials.html http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/10/02/17/manual_190410.html&TEAMHD=premiership

Sunday/Monday the same '48 hour' Storrie Tueday/Wednesday media silence (either too busy with new investor, or too busy with the tippex and shredder) Guess the best thing you've missed is the al Fahim arrest warrant stuff...
-
Looks like some of you're lot have started looting already http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Teenagers-with-cement-mixer-and.6078574.jp

Wonder if Storrie is busy trying to help Vantis remove the name 'al-Fahim' from the 'Wealthy investor' section of the SOA?
-
Also, Fahim news has made it to ESPN now: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=742879&sec=england&cc=5739

Skates level in English football, attendances when they go down?
Joensuu replied to NickG's topic in The Lounge
Ha, not a lot. Basically, the higher up the graph, the better supported your team is relative to league position. So the blue blip in 1980 was caused by the Skates dropping right down the leagues (to 72nd position), but somehow increasing attendance up to 15,850. Obviously they were promoted that season (from old 4th Divsion to old 3rd), but once they got back up their attendance dropped away completely (in 1982 they had climbed to 57th in the league, but were down to 8,544 fans... ). Were they giving tickets away in 1980 or something? From 1986-2001 our line is skewed by the capacity of the Dell. We would have averaged higher attendance if we had more seats. From 2002 onwards St Mary's made a hugh difference, and as you can see despite falling through the leagues, our attendance ratio has increased. Interesting, that even in the Skate's glory days in the 40's we were pretty close to their attendance (releative to our league position). All in all it doesn't mean much... as being relegated (but keeping the same attendence) sees the line go higher! Right enough, I'm going crazy here... .:smt100 -

This is one of the unanswered questions. Essentiallly it will be down to the Judge/Registrar on the 1st March. Considering they have been granted a stay of execution for exactly that reason, I doubt they would get away with using the same excuse twice (without proof (aka 'money') of course. A copy of the papers is given to HMRC, who have 48 hours to read them an prepare a reaction to them. This needs to be submited to the court on the 19th Feb. I don't know whether anyone from HMCS (court service) will read through the papers. Does the registrar enter the court room comletely unprepared, or is she allowed to review any admissable evidence prior to the date? I very much doubt this. The EPL simply don't have the cash; they would need to go cap in hand to Rupert Murdock. Even if the EPL had the money just sitting about in an account, and were willing to waive 6 months interest on it (say £165K @ 3%), why would they risk giving it to Pompey? If Pompey were to survive in the Premiership, the relegated teams would sue the EPL for breaking the rules. Even if the EPL did bend the rules and advance some Sky money, it wouldn't convince a judge that they are solvent; and also hasn't Chainrai already secured his loan against it? Wonder if he'd pocket it and let the club fend for itself. Without a new investor (23 hours and counting), I can't see any outcome except for them being wound up.
-
Indeed, under 23 hours to go...
-
So is Avram (he's even let down his hair):
-
If there were no doubt, AFC Wimbledon wouldn't have seen fit to release a statement. Note, the emphasised text, they know that legally they are not the same entity, all they can fall back on is that they 'believe' that they are.
-
The only outcome of that would be liquidation on the 1st March.
-
Are you suggesting clubs can buy heritage from one another? Perhaps you should put a bid in for Royal Excelsior Mouscron's 1996 Belgian Second Division cup while your at it? In your wacky world of buying history, I wonder if we could put in a few bids for your old trophies and melt them down ourselves?
-
Considering that their only hope of survival is if a new investor comes alone, I think it's safe to assume that if we haven't heard of a new investor by Friday, that they are destined for liquidation.
