  1. Chris Ashton was banned for ten weeks following an eye gouging incident by the RFU, there's no way the FA could possibly ignore what happened to Costa (even if he is a horrible sh!t) that kind of thing is just nasty

I have to say I did find a certain satisfaction to watching Spurs lose their title challenge by giving away a two goal lead. I watched the clip of Pochettino when the second Chelsea goal went in and I laughed and laughed

  2. After the game, I heard from a source at the club that Pelle simply didn't turn up traing. No message, not answering his phone and couldn't be contacted, despite being selected to start today.

    That's arrivaderci then..

    You're a bit of a c*ckwomble really, aren't you.

  3. Brilliant performance today, my son was buzzing for hours afterwards.

So that's two matches he's attended and 7 goals from Saints..... Think I'll be having to take him some more!

JRod definitely needs a full pre season - he's not properly fit and it's showing. Not surprising given the length of his recovery from a potentially career ending injury. Still good to see him get on the pitch.

Clasie gave lots of huff and puff but putting Romeu on really changed our midfield for the better

I thought Davis was very good - put himself about constantly

Shane was immense as was Mané. City's defence just couldn't handle them all game.

Forster worked very well when he needed to but City didn't really trouble our goal much

    Wanyama was really solid

A few of the players seemed to be having problems with slipping over in different areas of the pitch

But the best part for me was that we operated as a team today. (Except for the two times the team just went to sleep and let City score)

  4. Yep, Ramirez had plenty of chances and he isn't good enough for the PL. he's doing really well in the championship which is great for him but he's not going to come back to Saints and suddenly set the world alight.

  5. I assume CB Fry has never placed an accumulator bet.......

Clearly fails to understand the difference between impossible and possible - as Munster said, it was unlikely that it would happen due to the amount of other results required to fall in the skates favour. But possible is just that - possible, however unlikely.

After all you hear every once in a while about punters winning bets with daft odds:

So while it is fair to argue that, until yesterday, automatic promotion was unlikely it was not impossible. It is now so we can all sit back, relax and hope that whoever they play is better across the two matches (likely to be Argyle but possible that it might be someone else)

  6. Apparently they own the property and land behind the away stand. This apparently means they can force people out of their homes, flatten the houses and make room for a ground expansion or new stadium.

I'm told this by ones of the bestest who is absolutely certain it's not a Portsmyth.

I'm sure a quick search on Land Registry will quickly clear this one up.

I'm sure the community will absolutely love the community owned football club doing that.

  7. Tbh if they want to get anywhere the trust are doomed to a minority stake, if any, no matter what happens. No one is going to come along and throw money at that lot without some form of stake in return.

They are doomed tbh - they need (dream for) big money investment which won't happen without the trust losing further share. Until that happens they have to live on season ticket money, merchandise, match day revenue and whatever they get off the Football League Which just isn't going to be enough given the money required for fatpipes. They won't get much in player sales given that a good proportion of the squad is on loan and their academy won't be churning out the next Gareth Bale anytime soon.

Given the comments about their accounts I think it's safe now to say that they've bet everything on promotion this season and everything that comes after is on a wing and a prayer. This thread is never going to die

  8. As for the skates they'd have to pull off a pretty spectacular fail to not get to the playoffs now. Still wouldn't be surprised if they did manage this though.

I reckon they will still see a fall in season tickets even if they get promotion - there's only so much dross a fan can take, even a skate who's been putting up with it for years
