Worse is the commentary keeps cutting out and coming back after 3 seconds of silence.

And it is doing this to three other people I know (not just me apparently.) Sort it out SaintsPlayer !?!?!?

I actually liked Will Cope and the many Saints legends he had as a partner. Sorry, but dear old Dave Merrington is definetly not a radio commentator, and it is becoming quite annoying having to listen to him drone on and on in that thick accent he has. Sometimes you need to be entertained at the same time, and "Flash" Gordon, Mark Denis and Jimmy Case were always entertaining to listen to if nothing else.

Has Dave Merrington moved from the BBC?

No he hasnt!!!

This is the issue - Player has live commentary from each team - the Saints live commentary would have come from Saints Radio/Radio Hampshire when it existed and commentated on matches. Other teams in the league have an in-house commentary system like this streamed on the player.

As Saints currently don't in-house it is the Radio Solent 96.1 stream that is broadcast with Dave Merrington.

This you are not able to normally get online as radio stations can broadcast live commentary on FM or DAB in their area but not online - the clubs have the right to online commentary and are just using Solent as they don't have the facility.

I love our Dave - even if he does just say the same thing over and over again!
