Playstation 3 Red flashing light

Mates PS3, switches on then 5seconds later the light goes from green to red and flashes.....

 

Took it apart, cleaned it out and then did a fan test, fan worked fine (which is what google pointed us to) Also tried changing the HDD but again no good.

 

Any ideas?
