Crab Lungs Posted 9 October, 2011 Share Posted 9 October, 2011 Are you sending the file? If so, use the "attachment" feature when you're writing a message (the paperclip icon). I'm pretty sure you can't upload files to share on your profile though.
um pahars Posted 9 October, 2011 Author Share Posted 9 October, 2011 I've got a fixture list and want to post it on our Club Facebook page and just trying to work out the best way to do it. I've not used Facebook before and just want to put it up there as a resource for people to look up if required through the season. It's quite short so don't mind retyping it up there if necessary and posting up there, just not sure where it would go (as it looks to me that things don't stay topical!!!!). Any ideas??? and thanks for the response. STEVE
timebomb Posted 9 October, 2011 Share Posted 9 October, 2011 Facebook only accept images and videos. Try copying the data on the spreadsheet and pasting it in something like Paint. Then save it as a JPEG and you can upload it to Facebook.
Crab Lungs Posted 9 October, 2011 Share Posted 9 October, 2011 The best thing I would suggest is to transfer (cut 'n' paste) the data from a spreadsheet put it in the 'note' section if it's a personal profile. However, I'm assuming it's a group/page so it might be possible to 'create a doc', put the data in there, then send a message to all members to let them know that the fixture list is there. Additionally, you could probably create the doc with an external link to the excel file on somewhere like dropbox and they could download it from there. If it's a group page, I think the 'create a doc' page is on the right-hand side of the group page, second option down. Now, let's get back to rowing with eachother. um pahars Posted 10 October, 2011 Author Share Posted 10 October, 2011 Here's the webpage, haven't got a clue if it's a personal page or a group page. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.104616896315459.9093.100003014481280&type=3#!/profile.php?id=100003014481280 BTW I don't do rowing, just like a good barney every now and then (plus I'm sure we'd get on in reali life away from the jousting on the interweb - as long as you don't wear that fcccking beany hat thing I saw in a photo). Crab Lungs Posted 13 October, 2011 Share Posted 13 October, 2011 Ah right, it's a personal page - i.e. for a person, therefore the interactions are completely different. Therefore, I'd recommend you create a group page (so members of the club can join/interact etc) and it'll be a helluva lot easier to communicate with everyone, create events etc. I can create it if you want, then hand over the control to you? (The funny thing is, we probably would get on - in fact, I've previous with internet jousting then actually socialising with the people I'd been 'debating' with!) As for the beany, it's a necessity atm - until I've sorted my MPB out

To be honest it's not supposed to be a place for interaction (i.e. asking whose playing on Saturday and then people replying), it's just supposed to be a place where we could put some old photos before they were lost and then add any others as people take them. Then also use it put fixtures up and publicise the 3 or 4 social events we run each year. Any thoughts????
