lordswoodsaints Posted 5 May, 2009 Share Posted 5 May, 2009 Do you think that this option will continue if we have a club to support of course? I have bought my tickets the last few years using this method and I would imagine that a fair few other season ticket holders do,so if the club (for whatever reason) is unable to provide this option then they might struggle to shift a shed load. Huffton Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 Hope so, otherwise I won't be able to afford one. I don't see why not because the payments were handled by a finance company, meaning the club still got the money up front.
Saint Nobby Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 If they make season tickets really cheap they will sell loads. I think £200 for adults (£100 concessions up to the first game and then put them up to the average for the division. Surely that way the stadium will be over half full. It may cost the new owners in the first season but I'm sure it will get the fans back. Yesterday I found this on http://www.hotdeals.com ... For the third consecutive season Wigan Athletic have maintained the lowest possible prices, in an effort to ensure that Season Tickets remain affordable for all. Adult prices start at the remarkable price of £250 - just £13.16 per match, and every seat in the Stadium remains under £300 (excluding hospitality tickets). Under 16s Season Tickets are again available from £140 - £7.37 per match, while Under 11s pay the equivalent of an incredible £4 per game. Premiership football for £250 a season, surely £200 for Division 1 is realistic. As Flybe are still our sponsor I'd also consider keeping the same shirts for another year as a gesture to all the fans who supported the club by buying it last season. Stock for this year could be priced at a slightly cheaper price than last year - say £35 for an adult. I appreciate this represents a drastic reduction in income but the increased take up should help and it would be a fantastic gesture from the new owners to wipe away the public relations disasters of recent years. Flame away!
Michelle Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 Apply for Barclaycard Football credit card - season tickets go interest free on them for as long as you need - as long as you make your minimum payments and don't put anything else on there. I've been doing it for years.

I've been doing it for years. Yep I took that lead off of here and have used it for the last 4 years 0% interest for the year to pay it off. As Michelle says as long as you make the payment you are fine - I missed one once by accident and then got charged interest every month on the balance. Nineteen Canteen Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 Apply for Barclaycard Football credit card - season tickets go interest free on them for as long as you need - as long as you make your minimum payments and don't put anything else on there. I've been doing it for years. Sounds a good idea. In the past I have used the club's 0% scheme as I have bought 2 or 3 dependent on personal circumstances and so I have done so on interest free on the basis the money is better of earning interest in my account and theirs. Now that situation has been reversed with low interest rates so I don't have a problem paying up front especially as it will help the club get on its feet at least until next season. I expect in the past the finance company took a cut for offering the facility and probably more than the cut credit card companies charge them for facilitating sales through them. So pay up front if you can for this season at least or follow Michelle's suggestion whilst heeding the warning of others.
Smirking_Saint Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 TBF, currently paying 26 odd quid in the CCC was a bit rediculous. You can watch Liverpool for £
Nineteen Canteen Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 TBF, currently paying 26 odd quid in the CCC was a bit rediculous. You can watch Liverpool for £32 Half the average supporters weekly benefit up there so in real terms the most expensive ticket you can buy. Anyway buy a season ticket and you would have paid about £16 a game and guaranteed your seat for the Man U training match.

TBF though slagging off those 'plastics' that went to the utd training match are slagging those that probably spent alot of money in that match, getting that extra 15k i believe greatly benefited. I can't afford a season ticket, i go to as many as i can afford to go to. Only second season i have not bought one as i have recently purchased a house. Huffton Posted 7 May, 2009 Share Posted 7 May, 2009 And anyway, Barclays can uite frankly go and f**k themselves sideways if they think they are getting any business from me.
Michelle Posted 7 May, 2009 Share Posted 7 May, 2009 Barclays are no longer accepting applications for Barclaycard Football Credit Card Really? Since when? Wonder how long it'll be before they want to change our T&C's so the 0% offer is discontinued.
