Don't think Sanches is all that. Sort of signing rivals will wet themselves and meltdown over for 2 weeks but by the end of November nobody will care. Just a classic case of a big club gambling on someone and it not working out. In the meantime his reputation has aoared and its seen as a coup for smaller clubs to get him. Eventually players find their level and a fine example of this is Shaqiri. Came with all the excitement and hype (including myself) but looking back on it there's a reason other big clubs saw his stint at Bayern and decided against it. He's gone to Stoke and found his level. Same could be happening here. If Sanches is sooo good and available why aren't Liverpool or someone else all over him. There's no way its just a gift from Ancelotti to Clement as if it was it woupd have happened ages ago. Much more likely Sanches has said, give it until the end and if it's still the only option and I'm not in the first team then fine. We do this too by the way with Lemina, Hoijberg etc. Get these players that haven't made it at top clubs. The trick is to sign them permanently and back your club to improve them so you reel in the benefits (good performances and money if it works out)...not on loan so he has no ties to them at the end of it and can drop off performance wise if he doesn't fancy it.

Evidently he was one of the few players who created a proper chance for us Saturday. By passing forward and by getting us in behind the defence.
-
Not sure if they sell PC that they'll be laughing. They've said quite a lot that they wouldn't sell him and I've yet to hear the "unlese we get a stupid bid" or "he makes it impossible for him to stay" caveat from them that we used.
-
He isn't going to refuse to play. If he's still here September 1st, he'll be back in training asap. He has a reputation to hold up and sitting on his arse hoping to leave isn't going to keep top clubs interested in him.

People moaning about body language ffs! Redmond and Bertrand are both moody as **** at the best of times, constantly arguing with each other on the pitch as well but best mates of it. Calm down and stop overreacting. We're desperately short of a powerful direct wide attacking player (Mane?) or a dominant striker who would be capable of bringing our attacking midfielders into the game more (Pelle?). It's no coincidence our best passage of play (especially away) come when Long is on and he starts winning headers and holding the ball up a bit. It's just a shame he's awful technically and it's a shame that our best technical striker isn't capable of being a target man. We either need another striker or a wide attacking player who is capable of getting the ball and dragging us up the pitch and when we get up there is willing to do something different and have a shot. We're so short of ideas when we get the ball up top and end up just passing it around and letting their defence settle. We have one attacking idea which is the overlapping full backs. Soares final ball is awful and Bertrand has probably got the hump is our best attacking threat.

I have an account which the subscription expired yeah. What's the code?
-
Ok I've signed up to PIA VPN. So is the wisest and most reliable thing to subscribe to sportsmania for a week? I don't really get the code thing, do we have to wait until 11 to sign up. Or is there reliable sites elsewhere when using a VPN? Cheers

What's a good VPN app then?

It's not showing anywhere in the world as far as I can see so very unlikely there will be a stream.
-
Yes because all have been seemingly picked up by TV stations elsewhere and then someone has uploaded it to create a stream (People get how streams work right?). For whatever reason our friendly hasn't been picked up and Saints aren't allowed to stream it themselves. It's a bit **** there is no radio commentary though agreed.
-
Saturday 3pm football isn't allowed to be streamed in this country. It makes perfect sense to be fair and ever since I've known it has always been this way.

Well if VVD is severely mental and has his heart only set on Liverpool, then I can see Saints thinking "Have your little tantrum, come back in Pre Season, realise it's a World Cup year and play well for us next season and we'll do business with them next year on our terms at a similar price". Everyone's happy then. We get him for one more year, he gets his dream move, they get their reputation kept and CB next year.
-
Anyway replacing VVD (I'm of the belief we keep him personally) will need to be physically dominant to partner Stephens/Yoshida/Bednarek. Ake/Gibson, I'm not entirely sure are that.
-
Not that he's credible particular but Tancreid Palmemememwhat ever his name is thinks he's close to Villarreal move.
-
Carlos Carvalhal and Slaviša Jokanović are names to discuss.

I really hope this is the case. We shouldn't be bending over backwards to players if we don't have to and we should be backing a manager who has clearly been left a little short this season. We've got some good potential players in our team and we need to give them time to mature, we'll see better next season and the manager we chose last year to guide that maturity doesn't become the wrong man because of a mid table finish and a cup final defeat. Lets back him. The summer is going to be painful on this board though.

Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official
Fabrice29 replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
Isgrove was kept on the basis of needing him for squad requirements for European football (A side effect people who demand home grown players quotas should be aware of) and will be let go this summer. As we don't have European football next season I'd be surprised to see these kind of contracts being offered so easily and would also point out we have a big squad right now built for European football which may need trimming. -
PEH the only midfielder willing to take the ball in brave positions yesterday though. I think decision making will come with experience. Him and Boufal for example you cant knock their ability or their bravery on the ball but their decision making needs work and will get better. It's easy to forget how young they are.
-
Remember when people thought our lack of goals was down to the midfield not being good enough? Long and Rodriguez's movement is awful ffs
-
We've got to be careful here a little. He's been fantastic and I'm excited as anybody but everyone in this country got just as excited by the likes of Jelavic at one stage.
-
To be fair Burnley's team was more full strength than Lincoln's today proving that you can put a good side out and still get beat.
-
Nobody has said he's starting yet tbf and if it gets to match day and the people working with him everday think he's A) Better than Stephens B) Fit enough to play then I'm happy he's playing. Couple of further things to think about as well 1) Stephens may have played the last 4? games, but other than that he's hardly been active in competitive football. 2) When it comes down to it, on the day, I want the guy who is going to nullify Zlatan and United. I want the guy who has played at the highest level, I want the guy who has experience of being in and working with one of the best defences in world football. I think if Stephens plays and we win then great. If Stephens plays and we lose, we'll be thinking what if in regards to having this guy on the bench. I dont want to be thinking what if after the game. If the staff think he's capable of playing and is the right man to start then he should play.

Done..and now you're not impressed?
