My favourite thing about this thread is that no-one mentioned so far has even met the extremely broad criteria that JackanorySFC has given. There are not THAT many CCC players currently being linked to Prem teams, and even if there were, we could probably pare them down from "knowing Fonte". But my God this thread makes some people look incapable of reading. To re-re-visit the original message (with amendment to Fonte typo), the clues in bold and the conclusions in red: Can we try and at least suggest players who meet these criteria ?

The Grove in Huddersfield was SHEEEEOITE. Lovely if you want wanncky obscure Ales and borderline racist cartoons on the wall, but bloody rubbish for pre-match football watching on tv or being anywhere near the ground. Same goes for everywhere (including the Victoria in Northampton which at least had a telly and the two places in Hartlepool) except The Saddlers at Walsall, and even that was lacking in live footy (but Skates were winning so that was a blessing). Good exploding pork pies though.

I thought Mellis might have developed with a few more games - he had an enthusiasm early on that was promising but also led to a few too many slightly overhit passes. He also turned his man nicely (albeit the same way every time), had some vision none of our other players had and made a few cutting runs with and without the ball to get through defences, but didn't look composed in finishing at all which made them a little pointless. Not a patch on Jack Cork for Saints, certainly, but a more attacking player who will benefit from regular games to get to know what his teammates will do, which I don't think really happened at Saints.

I see there are rumour Sunderland may be flogging Kenwyne Jones (possibly to Birmingham) for around £12m. I just Googled, and it seems some Sunderland fans think we might have a sell-on clause - the transfer went through quickly when he refused to play, but can anyone here confirm if there's a sell-on and if so, what percentage/fee we'd get? One other thing I saw today, after Billy Davies' Derby kicking Gareth Bale and Kenwyne out of the Play-Off semi second leg, he has now announced he'd like to sign Bale for Forest, having tried to sign Kenwyne for Derby for a pittance when he went to Sunderland. What an odious little git Billy Davies continues to be...

Useful additional info, but the fact he left at all was a pretty good indicator that he wouldn't be returning. Nice that we gave him his League debut, not so nice it was away to Swindon...
