To be honest we already have Adam Snowllana sticking them away...
-
We only started even trying to sing it slowly again as a result of Spurs doing it so much better than us a couple of years ago. There was no "slow" version at all for years prior to that. Ultra-lame.

The current team would get murdered but eventually win on penalties after a 6-6 aggregate draw in which Pele was to blame for all the goals which all came from dead ball situations.

Why Markus Liebherr should buy Portsmouth Football Club

Evidently. -
Your point appears to be that there aren't any better strikers out there than Rickie Lambert. There are plenty of CCC attackers who could do well - though about it seems like about half of them have already played for us. To have a chance of improving on him we'll have to pay decent wages, but that's precisely what we've done so far ? There are players at a higher level who CDAJFU and wouldn't cost the earth too. I'd sign Kevin Phillips, personally. Cue bile.

Rubbish wind up. Point 1 : No one is allowed to own two football clubs. Point 2 : Rubbish wind up (see point 1). -
It would be interesting to see if AFC actually deigned to play them...
-
Oh yeah, forgot that. Well, that explains not signing him now, nor pre-negotiating.
-
He's been erratic, but he's been very good at times (not on Saturday though, he was utter guff then). People seem to think he's limited, but I've seen him beat people, cross consistently and score a very decent goal at Bristol Rovers so he certainly has potential and is nearer the right standard than Thomson at the moment. I'd actually go so far as to say we should sign him permanently if we could get him for £400k or less, and see if McLaggon is good enough to unseat him.

For the Aliadiere Conspiracy theorists, here's his still-active link on the Boro website : http://www.mfc.premiumtv.co.uk/articles/jeremie-aliadiere-middlesbrough_70610_21769 It also notes that he had a 4 year deal in 2011, which would have been on Prem wages, and he had signed from Arsenal as a striker, so they'd probably be pretty decent wages compared to what he'd get from whoever he might sign for now, which makes him agreeing to the cancellation of the last 18 months of his contract pretty unlikely.

Signing players who aren't better than what we already have is what got us relegated from the Premier League, and not improving (rather than just adding to) the squad also did for us in the Championship, come to think of it. You don't improve to your squad by buying inferior players to take up supporting roles, you improve to your squad by buying players you think will be better than the starters you have and creating competition for places with players who have already proven they are good enough to a particular point. It creates a bigger margin of error in which the player might be useful - sign a good player who turns out to be crap and he might still be useful coming off the bench. Sign an average player who turns out to be crap and he's of no use at all. Pericard was certainly the latter when he was last here, and 6 goals at Carlisle doesn't smack of him being any better now. We'll be signing Lucien Mettomo next... there are hundreds of better options available.

That wouldn't leave too many clubs... Here's 2009 Premier League profit and loss (Hull is for 2008) http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jun/03/english-premier-league-debt and we ALL know there's no money to be made in the CCC.

Its easy to link people, you go to "my account" and "add friends" or something like that, type their ST number and surname in, then it will appear on the dropdown next to the ticket purchase when you go to the page with the "BUY" button on it. If you reserve the tickets in the system before adding the friend you'll have to cancel the transaction and start again once you've added them - it may also cache them not being on the list, so probably best to log right out and back in again. Also, if you log in at midnight you inevitably get crap seats in row A (though we tend to make it unreserved seating anyway!). And yes, you can choose stadium pickup. About the only thing I can't do is book my own ST seat for cup games online, which isn't relevant to away games, but if anyone knows how to do that... EDIT : It's "My Account" > "Add/Show friends" for adding other people; and to answer my own question the ST seats are under Show Cup Games/ Renewals on that same screen (but they weren't for the Luton match)... I should work in IT. Oh wait, I do.

I would be inclined to think that another reason for the rearrangement is that we want the 16th Feb free in case we have to play a 5th Round replay, or to rearrange a League game. At the moment we only have Tues 2nd Feb and Tues 16th Feb free before March, and there's already Swindon to rearrange from Jan 23rd. If we draw in the FA Cup against Ipswich the free 2nd Feb date will be used for the replay, and should we get past them into 5th Round we will have to reschedule Hartlepool from Feb 13, and also have Wycombe booked on the 23rd Feb which is when a 5th round replay would usually happen. If we beat MK over 2 legs we'll also have to rearrange Oldham at home (scehduled for the weekend of the JPT Final), which we could slot in on March 2nd if we move the 2nd leg forwards, but if the 2nd leg was on the original date it would be too short notice to do that. Probably worth someone starting a thread on our fixture congestion ruining our season now...

"Dirty Leeds" is a hangover from Tim Lovejoy on Soccer AM reviving the phrase back in the early 2000s, which is enough reason alone to stop using it.
-
I want us to sign one that can pass through the defence to find a striker who scores. Schneiderlin in 2008 was the kind of player you want, until we turned him into Owen Hargreaves lite for some reason. Oscar Gobern is already that kind of late surging runner, but the brief cameos he's getting aren't going to improve him much.
-
I think Jaidi has been by far his most successful signing so far, the guy dominates and has mostly only been let down by his partner going walkabout.
-
We've been poor since the second half against Tranmere, including the Exeter win (but not the Leeds game, which we lost nevertheless). We've barely created anything for about a month, and seem to have forgotten how to pass the ball on the ground. Humping it into the box from Lloyd James didn't work last season and hasn't worked this season either, and we desperately need someone with the ability to pass the ball through the opposition's back line, to mix up our attacking options. Lambert's assist for Waigo was one of few decent through balls this season (along with James to Waigo), and we've created good chances from most of them, but we don't do it often enough. At the moment it's either whack it at Lambert or hope Lallana can dribble through and cut it across - Colchester scored two goals against us playing short passing football in the final third that we're not capable of at the moment, even though we did it a lot in October.

As a participant in said away dressing room side, I can confirm that the away dressing rooms at SMS are about on a par with the away dressing rooms at Bournemouth, and both are still a damn sight better than any parks changing rooms I've ever been in.
-
I doubt it, the Premiership ceased to exist in 2007.
-
I have a very nice video of us "Adam Lallana-la-la-la-la-laaaah"-ing at Hartlepool too... Despite once having a username based on a Coldplay song, I also don't think Viva La Vida is well enough known to catch on, it was a pretty cack song.
-
This is (and as you'll have seen, was) correct, and should we make it to the 5th Round we'll be number 1 in that because our tie was first out in the 4th Round draw. It's worked like that for at least 20 years - there was an article in either the 1986 or 1988 FA Cup Final programme explaining the process. The first round draw is alphabetical by team name, second round is based on 1st round draw order, third round is alphabetical and then from then on it's based on the order all the way through because no further teams are added. This is another one of those things I'd assume all football fans would know but apparently hardly anyone does.

No-one who went to Fratton in 2005 is going to have Amarillo anywhere near St Mary's.
-
You have no chance of getting that going, and the Reuben Agboola tune that's been used at some away games is easier and better anyway (as is La Cucaracha, for that matter). There are a couple of Papa Waigo songs better than Annoying Offside Song, Generic Dexter Blackstock/Saganowski Tune #1, or Generic Winter Wonderland Tune #2, but no-one ever sings them either.
