Installment plans cost the club NOTHING
StuRomseySaint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
It's £25 actually when you include the booking tax. I am not saying that he has to use them, I am pretty sure it's a competitive market and Premium Credit offer the same terms... I am simply highlighting that cost can't be the issue... as there doesn't have to be any cost to the club. Anyway, I am off for a nice Carlos Ice Cream and a walk in the forest with a very pretty lady. Have yourself a wonderful evening. xxx -

You know what mate, fair enough, I can't be arsed to explain anymore why it is not a credit agreement in the sense of taking a loan etc. There are 2 main companies that deal with Season Ticket Finance, Zebra and Premium Credit, neither of which credit search an individual when setting up the installment plan, which suggests it is 'no-risk', not only that, but there are 2 companies so the club didn't look very hard did they? You said you worked in retail finance? As in store cards? As in credit? Anyway, I can't be arsed to go through it all again, all the information is on here. The very fact that P*rtsmouth negotiated the finance package whilst being in administration clearly shows that the credit standing of a football club has nothing to do with it. Would you not agree? Besides that Cardiff City, Rotherham, Darlington etc... all have agreements. -

Once again... http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/pdf/finance_6_month.pdf I am pretty damn sure if P*rtsmouth can get one with Zebra, we can...! I asked the bloke and it is not a credit facility, therefore previous history is irrelevent, and as I said, the agreement is between the individual and Zebra Finance. -

Rather than ask me to go and do research... I think I have done more than enough. All of the badges are hyperlinked. Why not take a look at P*mpeys payment plan application. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/pdf/finance_6_month.pdf Blows the whole " they didn't want us because of our finances " argument out doesnt it? -

Helllllllo!!!!!????? As I have stated a zillion and one times, but people seem to be forgetting. 1) It is not a credit agreement, so being blacklisted is irrelevent. 2) The agreement is between the consumer and Zebra Finance so the clubs financial affairs have nothing to do with it!!! FFS They are even running P*rtsmouths payment plan scheme so that blows that rumour right out of the water!!! And just to put this one to bed... I have spoke to a manager at Zebra finance direct and his words.... " We would be happy to support and work with Southampton FC to implement an installment plan should the club approach us " I am forwarding the contact on to the club... there really is no reason not to have a payment plan apart from getting more money out of us. -
Dear Mr Cortese and Mr Liebherr May I congratulate you on a very sound and wise investment, one of which I am sure you will see an impressive return on. Please can you try your best not to fleece fans in your quest to maximise your income whilst on the road to the holy grail which is the Premiership. Congratulations once again on your investment. SRS

Are you thinking about taking a loan out? If not then I am not sure what your point is? I will say it yet again... because it still doesn't register in some peoples heads. I will put it in bold this time in the hope that people read it and understand. Zebra Finance do not offer credit for season tickets, they simply administrate the collection of premiums for which they recieve a commission, generally in the way of interest. They may well deal in loans, but that's irrelevent as this is not the service they are offering SFC Well done for finding a complaint against them on google by someone who defaulted on their loan. I think I will use the biggest football club in the world, Manchester United, or Man City, or Tottenham or the countless other clubs as testimony to their ability to carry out premium collection on season tickets. -

And another point about being blacklisted being irrelevent. The agreement is between Zebra Finance and Job Bloggs Saints Fan, not Zebra Finance and Southampton FC, so the club being blacklisted is even more irrelevent. -

One more time... Zebra Finance is not a credit company, therefore being blacklisted is completely irrelevent. Let's move away from the payment plan for one minute. Why the lack of half season tickets? It's nothing to do with credit, or payment plans or administration or anything else. I think it is fair to say the reason is based on the following... Cortese knows that for the second half of the season, if we are top and cruising to a championship, we will be getting large gates and the people who would have normally buy the season tickets, will spend their money on a match by match basis if that facility is withdrawn. It's another way of hitting fans in the pocket. If anyone can give me another reason why they might have been withdrawn I will happily listen to it... -

Because once again, as I once again have stated a zillion times. Zebra is not a credit finance company, they are not lending anyone any money, they are administrating premium collections in advance. Nobody, not the consumer or the football club need to be credit checked. -

1) Can you please read back through the thread... or maybe even just the OP, I have explained it on several occasions how Zebra take their fees, and it is not through the football club. 2) Do you really need explaining that? -

StuRomseySaint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
I was aware for most seasons that we couldn't pay the early bird price but had to pay the standard renewal so the fees were hidden in this way. Anyway, regardless of the past, there is an option available NOW for the club to give us the installment plan at no cost to themselves. The club have stated the costs have prevented them from offering the plan... and I have found them one for FREE! This will put that excuse to the test. -

It is attitudes like that, that will let the club take the p!ss. Yes thankyou Cortese and Liebherr for 'saving' our club... or more to the point, seeing an investment opportunity that ( wait for it ) was made attractive simply because of the infrastructure Lowe and his cronies set up ( I don't like Lowe, but if it wasn't for SMS and Staplewood Marcus would not have touched us... Lowe was responsible for both ) When do we stop our blind loyalty towards Cortese? Yeah nice one for buying Saints... and I am sure they will get a return on their investment, which is why they are here, not as saviours... you are naive if you think otherwise. If you let them take the p!ss now, P*rtsmouths Premiership prices will look like a snip compared to ours when we get there. -

You have the luxury of using your birds credit card. It's boring for you because you have the season ticket in your pocket. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people who don't have that luxury and have been bullied out of having something that they have for years..... a season ticket. If it bores you then don't come on the thread... it's pretty obvious what the subject is about. -

StuRomseySaint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
There was last season to get punters in, so they would have lost about £50 approx on the season ticket I estimate There have been extra charges by way of interest or no early bird renewal installment plans previously. Having said this, I haven't heard back from Premium Credit Ltd about their charges so I can't confirm what they would propose to charge. -

No, they are a gamble based on the fickleness of football fans and the arrogance that we will walk this league next year. Regardless of the business reasons for things, it doesn't mean we don't have a right as consumers to stand up against the money-grabbing. -

Well generally speaking less than half of people would qualify for a favourable credit card such as 0% ( the better the deal, the higher the credit rating you need to have ) I was quoted a figure of about 30-40% by a friend who works within Risk Management for HSBC... I thought I would use 50% to be generous. :-) The demographic of the people that are on payment plans will be much further down the adverse credit rating line than average. The people that do not have £400 spare in their banks generally won't have a sufficient credit rating to allow them to obtain a 0% credit card. It doesn't apply to a 'large majority of Saints fans' , for reasons stated about, it applies to a 'large majority of Saints fans who rely on the payment plans' -

What??? Football Clubs are a customer facing business... every bit of PR they do, every player they buy, every decision they make is in the public domain and the customer decides whether to buy into it. A MASSIVE part of running a football club and making it successfull is doing what the fans want, more happy fans = more season tickets, more merchandise, more matchday tickets and in summary........ More Revenue! -

With respect trousers, this thread is not about flexing your financial muscle and billy big balls is it? I have given reason on a number of occasions why credit cards are not an option for a large majority of Saints fans. -

StuRomseySaint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
They don't get their money from anywhere. They collect premiums in advance, take their interest and pay the club the rest. They administer the payment plan, that is all. This is why there is no credit checks, because the customer is not paying for goods in advance. -

Do you applaud the charges then? Did you send a letter of thanks to Mr Cortese, saying how grateful you were for the 15% increase in your season ticket and the booking fee charges which he implemented? How retarded. -
Installment plans cost the club NOTHING
StuRomseySaint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
There is NO cost... I know this because I have looked into it and spoken to the very people, I know exactly the role that Zebra Finance play and they adminstrate the premium collection and take their payment in interest. They are not a credit company, they administer the credit control and premium collection and take their fee in the form of interest. Zebra can offer plans to the club that offer zero percent adminstration or costs to the club. This is not idle speculation, this is a FACT.
