I am only 30. :-) I will probably attend the march in Luton in July, probably not the Bradford one, depending on where Saints are playing on that day. Anyone else is welcome to join me. :-) x
-
Oh yeah. Woops. But I don't have 1000 friends. I have around 130 and every single person on my Facebook is either family or I have their phone number on my phone... that is the criteria for being on my facebook.
-
I haven't deleted you yet. :-) Here's a few more... - People who can't make a decision. - People who choose to ignore rather than answer awkward questions.
-
On another note, anyone who is considering Solar PV or Solar Thermal , PM me and I will be happy to quote you ( and maybe chuck in some discount ;-) ) , not only that, but you get to meet me and have me as your project manager. Commercial or Residential. :-)

Fair enough, Solar PV will kick off big time though, mainly due to the feed-in-tariff meaning people will get a 25 year guaranteed payments for producing their own electricity. Because of the payback it is a very 'green' investment with a very decent return... ( on a £12,000 install you can expect around £18,000 in payments over 25 years as well as a 50% reduction on your electric bill for that time )... and the rise in value of your property. Solar Thermal is becoming popular and affordable... city councils are starting to include them in new builds, but as I said, anyone who is seriously thinking about Thermal should wait until January... when they will qualify for the feed-in-tariff ( which I am not sure is in the public domain yet, but it's happening, woops )

I work within the Renewable Energy Industry, specifically Solar Power and it is going to be a massive market with the Feed in Tariffs etc... the market is slowly picking up and Solar PV and Solar Thermal will be the big players. Wind Turbines don't work on residential properties, infact they are pretty useless on anything other than an offshore windfarm. The payback time on a decent sized Solar PV is less than 10 years and the total return over 25 years is more than double. It is not a bad investment. You only need to look at Germany who are world leaders since the introduction of their feed-in tariff and have 8.5gw of Solar PV on residential properties. Solar Thermal is a cheap way of renewable energy and this will kick-off next year when a Feed-in-tariff is introduced... so if you are thinking of getting it, wait till next year or you won't get the feed-in-tariff.

- Blokes in skinny jeans. - Blokes with them stupid earings that make a hole in your lobe. - Anyone from P*rtsmouth
-
- Facebook friend collectors. - People whose Facebook status says " xxxxx is so upset " and when you ask them whats up they don't tell you.

Yes, f*cking disgusting, infact I would go as far as to say it should count as indecent exposure and at the very least there should be a law against it, with £80 for any offenders. More annoying things... - People that go into a pub and buy a coffee. - People that go into a pub and use their laptop. - People who shout 'on the pitch' for 45 minutes then boo people who go on the pitch.
-
Soon. StuRomseySaint is going to be retired at the end of today.
-
- People that drive at 70mph in the fast lane, regardless of there not being any traffic in the other 2 lanes. - People who tap their brakes on the motorway instead of leaving a reasonable distance between them and the car in front and controlling their speed using the accelerator. - People who have a box of tissues on the parcel shelf. - People who eat with their mouth open. - People who talk with food in their mouth. - People who chant 'on the pitch' then when people go on the pitch, chant 'w@nkers' at them. - Big Brother on again soon, knowing that I f*cking hate it but will end up watching it, such is the sh!tness of television.

Hello :-) The other team is Hartlepool -
I'm a member of EDL Southampton Division. I bet that shocked you.

Which includes MASSIVE regeneration of East London, which is so badly needed and also includes a significant rise in funding to our sports federations, which all bodes well for the future. And don't look at it as £10bn lost as the majority of this will be recovered in revenue from the games, and the most of the rest moving forward from the legacy and venues etc of the games. Yes we might be £1bn down at the end of it or so... well we won't, the London Council Tax payer will. I don't understand why so many people who don't live in London are so bothered about the cost... although I have no doubt that NorwaySaint will pitch in with his 2 pence in a minute.
-
They are indeed... I would like to thank Marcus for it. Cortese I am sure is getting paid very nicely by Liebherr. I also ( shock horror ) don't subscribe to Cortese's claim that it was him that saved Southampton FC and approached Liebherr... but a convenient credit to take to ensure you get completely blind loyalty from the fanbase. Personally I think word got back to Liebherr when his family company were in town to sell 2 new cranes for the docks... or some other simple reason like that. But hey, footy is a game of opinions.
-
Without Liebherr, Cortese wouldn't have a pot to pish in actually. Err... Liebherr is the one with the money. On another note, I don't believe for one minute that Liebherr would pull the plug if Cortese decided he wasn't interested anymore... which is what Cortese would like us to believe. And why would he want us to believe that? Take a look through this thread... by making you believe that 'Southampton is his baby' and if he decides to give the baby up then so does Liebherr... you lot have a completely blind faith in him. For the record... I am not saying sack the board... simply airing what I believe to be true, so when something does go wrong I can say " I told you so " :-)

You've picked the one and only venue where it 'might' be questions as to why it is needed, although the current national velodrome is in Manchester, and there isn't a decent one in London. Great Britain are world leaders in track cycling so for that reason only they deserve world class facilities as a reward for their success. And, as the majority of the bill is picked up by the Londoners... it's not really any of our business. :-) No venue in London is going to end up derelict and unwanted... there is a use for anything in that city... I remember people saying the same about the Millenium Dome... which is now the premier indoor concert venue in Britain.
-
And one more thing aintforever... and a very important point... The general British taxpayer is going to pay hardly anything for the games. The London council tax payer and national lottery are the main sources of income to pay for the games... so I am not sure why you are so worried when you live in Fareham? I think you might need to do some more research into the games to come up with an informed opinion maybe? The Olympic Games is the greatest event on earth... I for one cannot wait to see it come to England for what will probably be the only time in my lifetime.
-
Err... we are the best nation in the world at track cycling, so why shouldn't there be a decent facility to support it? Oh.... because it's not football.... Well done on picking one venue though.... even though it is remaining as the national Velodrome after.
-
Errrr Maybe you need to take a look round the 2012 website, because then you would know that nearly all of the venues are already in existance... such as.... Wimbledon Earls Court o2 Arena Wembley Stadium Royal Artillery Barracks Eton Dorney ExCel Arena and other venues were being built regardless of a succesful bid. And every single venue has a use after the Olympics.
-
Well I for one cannot wait till the Olympics. I will be saving most of my holidays in 2012 to get to as many Olympic events as possible.
