The test will be when things start going bad. It's all very well releasing a rant like that when things are going well, but it will be a different kettle of fish when things aren't going as well. And how will fans react to the "It's my ball and I will do what the f*ck I like with it" statements which will be released if we are struggling outside the play-offs? And for the record, I still strongly believe that as of 5pm last Saturday, Cortese had the intention of sacking Pardew. And for whatever reason, one of the main ones being the public and media reaction to the speculation, he backtracked and has decided to stick with Pardew for now. People may rubbish that... but any decent businessman will not make such an unpopular decision days before Season Tickets go on sale... I would be surprised if Pardew is given any more than 10 games to get us into an Auto-Promotion spot.

Yeah I edited that, I meant EU students who pay the same fee and non-eu who pay what is supposed to be the 'full' fee.
-
Some Facts. Student drop-outs cost the taxpayer £200m a year. £14.3billion is taken from taxpayers every year and given to students and Universities.
-
Wrong. English Students pay a fee. EU Foreign Students pay the same fee. Foreign Students pay a higher fee. Neither fees comes even close to the true cost of their further education, which is approximately £4,000 per student per year MORE which is funded by the taxpayer.

c*nts the lot of them. Now my taxes not only go towards English students going to Uni doing pointless courses... not people from all over the world can come and do pointless courses at my expense. Student terrorist tax-dodging scum.

Police wary of trouble for Bournemouth game
StuRomseySaint replied to warsash saint's topic in The Saints
Will be harder work for the OB when we go down to Bournemouth than it is when we go to Fr@tton... they are just stating the obvious, no news there. I bet you one thing though, I bet we won't be playing them away in August or at the end of the season. I thinkt he away game will probably be on Boxing Day... from a policing perspective, that would be perfect for them, especially if they want to make it a 'bubble' game. -
Shut up.

Where do you want the pre-season tour to be?

Don't say things like that, Mr Cortese will just release a statement saying it's none of your business as Southampton is his baby. -

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! -
Keegan drives a Black Audi. I saw him a couple of days ago driving to visit his daughter. Innit.

There is no conspiracy! Pardew is our manager, which is good news. The point I was making is that it is pretty clear to anyone with half a brain that Cortese and Pardew have a 'strained' relationship, you can even make that out from reading the statement... with only a very slight and indirect compliment to Alan Pardew. Oh, and Pardew wasn't there between 8:30 and 1pm yesterday and nobody was in the boardroom... maybe they had the meeting at the training ground? Or maybe Alan's house? Or somewhere else? Who cares now?
-
Nobody says it is a conspiracy, nobody said it's because of this board that he didn't get sacked etc. Some people, including myself feel that he may have had his hand forced into keeping Pardew... when there is 100% backing from fans and the more influential ex-Saints making comments in the press and media, you don't go and sack him a couple of days before season tickets go on sale. That is a FACT Whether or not that is the reason, who knows. I am just glad that for whatever reason, we are going to have continuity and Pardew is staying.
-
Yes. I was thinking about a slightly more humane way of covering them in foam so they don't make a noise.

I am a social smoker, I only smoke when I have a pint. Now I am not too fussed if we are not allowed a smoking area outside, I will just continue to smoke in the concourses. I just thought it would be a good idea.
-
- Allow smoking area at half time for Home fans.

That's what I mean, Keegan, Benali, Matty and Mac all stuck up for Pardew. Which makes Cortese's job of sacking Pardew alot harder, as the interviews they gave the Echo summed up the public feeling about Pardew and backed Cortese into a corner because of fans reactions to speculation... in the same ( although opposite!? ) situation with Hoddle not coming here under Lowe. It seems to me that Cortese had his hand dealt for him by the fans and ex-Saints, and it wasn't necessarily the deal he wanted. Having said that, I am happy we still have Pardew here.
-
I would say one thing though, it would not surprise me, especially taking his digs at Mac, Le Tiss, Benali and Keegans comments, if he had the intention of sacking Pardew but the ex-Saints made it a no-go and PR nightmare for Cortese to sack him , what with Season Tickets just about to be announced.
-
Decent statement... he is not going to gain friends by having a pop at Le Tiss though. Still - SORT THE F*CKING SEASON TICKETS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

£1.3m Gross based on £40 a ticket... then remember the 'booking fee' which was not a Wembley thing, add on another 25,000 x £3 Expenses... Stewards and minimal policing. I forgot about the expenses but I reckon it will be somewhere between 700k and £1m in Net profit prize money for us. Regardless, it's more non-budgeted money would pay Rickie Lamberts wages, for example.
-
JPT Final we recieved 45% of total gate reciepts. well over £1m You're right, everyone keeps harping on about throwing loads of money at it... that's not true, it wouldn't surprise me if after wages and fees, we are still turning a profit.

Because I spend all my money on beer and holidays in the summer. What part of that don't you understand?
-
Because... 1) People paying on installments will end up paying right up to/past Xmas for them. 2) People who are paying up front have more money in March/April than they will have in the summer... preffering to spend their money on beer and holidays.
