Out of contract: 1. AMN, 2. Eli, 3. Theo, 4. Cabellero 5. JWP, 6. Orsic and 7. Salisu are gone. 8. McCarthy, 9. Diallo, 10. Adams, and 11. DCC look highly likely to depart, although not certain. 12. Stephens, 13. KWP, 14. ABK and 15. Lavia - it would not surprise anyone if they left. The likes of AArmstrong, SArmstrong, Djenepo, Perraud, Tella, Bednarek and Onuachu could stay or go. It would take serious bids for Sulemana and Alcaraz to go...which might not happen as they perhaps have not done enough. Maybe sent out on loan again...Nlundulu, Simeu, Vokins, Chauke, Simeu and Small

That's a lot of players to depart, but we do have a huge squad, so that could happen, especially if you count some of the young pros.

He's invested £400m? I missed that. Can you share a link to that story?

The club has little value in the Championship. He, more than any other person wants/needs a return to the Premiership and will be doing everything to achieve that. He doesn't make money by stripping the club of its assets, however, the budget will be significantly smaller and we need to cut our cloth accordingly. If we can sell/offload the underperforming senior players and retain the younger (cheaper) talent we could come back stronger.

I know you were just joshing, but just for clarity, he's 36, scored 3 goals in 37 Prem games this season and is on about £140k a week. Our total income will be about £50m next year. We ain't spending a seventh of it on him. He has another year left at Leicester. He ain't leaving them for us.
-
we can't be paying Mccarthy £50k a week or whatever in the Championship. The club will want to move him on and the fact they didn't play him to ensure he got a wage cut next season won't have impressed him. He will want to depart, so long as he gets a decent contract elsewhere. Someone in the Prem will hopefully fancy him as a second or third choice keeper.

so? You said "They (away performances) are a complete irrelevance for the home supporters." but that's simply not true for several reasons. Many of those home supporters go to away games for starters. Away fans are home fans too. Many fans stream all the games. It doesn't matter if the game is home or away, how we play and the result matters to Saints fans. Away performances, wins and points are very relevant to home fans. Just for clarify, I fully understood why the board sacked Puel. We were absolutely terrible to watch at home. Not as bad as we've been this season though.

Smallbone was the most passive central midfielder I've seen at Saints, so it worries me that we are going to rely on him. He seems to have had a good season at Stoke, so that is encouraging, but we re going to need some more pace, power, aggression and dynamism to complement whatever it is he offers now.
-
Hmmmm. I don't think I have said a nice word about Onuachu since he got here, Chelsea game apart. Or maybe you think me calling him a poor man's Kev Francis is some sort of compliment? I slate every Saints player if I feel they are not good enough or they have been playing poorly, and have done so for 20 years on Saints forums, but perhaps you only notice the Perraud remarks because the rest get lost in the the thousands of other Eli moans etc. Criticism stands out because many seem to fawn over him and I don't share their opinion at all. Signing and being happy with Championship standard players is a sure fire way of getting yourself into the championship. We've found his level now, so he will be an asset next season.

unless someone buys him, yes.
-
spot on. heaven knows what are CM is going to look like next season. I keep thinking about the shit show against Grimsby without him.
-
glad its finally over. Not confident we can turn the ship around quickly, but by the time the summer is over I hope there will be a feel good factor and we get some momentum from pre season.
-
He is gone. The long hugs as as he was subbed was a clear indication of that.
-
my version of MOTD would be better
-
JWP getting subbed so he gets the applause. Another player certain to depart.
-
Normally I'd side with Henderson, but Firmino also took an age to come off, getting hugs etc. so he can fuck off 4-4. Normal service resumes.
-
Eli getting hugs as he comes off. He is out of here.
-
decore screamer
-
likewise. I dont reelly like any other side, but seeing them go down would be fine by me.
-
if we are going to play it out from the back, and not have Lavia handle that task, you need CBs that can play. That's his strength. We just need to cover his weaknesses if that is going to work next season.
-
you are being a little kind. it was absolutely fucking shit.
-
my god how shit is that Eli
-
Eli completely bottles a tackle. Not impressed by that.
-
Nice stuff from Alcaraz
-
