I have to say I feared the worst, but not because we are bottlers, because they were out on their feet.
-
we spent pretty much the whole 90 minutes hanging on for grim life. The only difference was we added a CB, which to fair made us a bit tighter and harder to break down.
-
I am wondering, was he not also out on his feet? I'd be surprised if he was in a worse state than Ely, but he had to be struggling, surely?
-
AA came off before Lavia?
-
he's pretty crap in the air from the hoofed long balls. Much worse than Crouch used to be. He did hold the ball up pretty well on one occasion, down the right wing. Other than that it was chasing shadows...as it was for AA before him.
-
need to watch again, but wasn't it a good save?
-
he'd already gone down with cramp ten minutes before that...yet we kept on to the death. The second goal could have been prevented if he had been off and fresh legs were on. Piss poor management.

completely fucks Arsenal's title challenge up. I'm happy with that....and the massive effort from the players...not much else though. Gutted.
-
I honestly don't understand why Ely was not subbed. Not because I don't rate him.bit because he was absolutely fucked from about the 80th minute. He could hardly move. We took an age to get Diallo ready to come on, only for it to be Lavia that came off. Was Lavia also fucked?
-
Ely has been out on his feet for ten minutes. Why on earth has he not been subbed?

fucking cross it KWP you twat. What a great chance.

not for me. We actually look dangerous on the break. If we make a change, it should be to bring more pace on in the form of Sulemana not Onuachu.

I'd of thought Potter was still worth a place on the `Prem manager merry go round'. We'd need to go for someone that has finally fallen off it, or perhaps has spent time on the bumper cars and now wants to run the waltzer. We'll probably end up with the guy that works on the coconut shy...sorry, I'm talking drivel.

You don't fancy Gattuso? I wonder what would be considered a hipster managerial selection for us in the summer and what wouldn't? When Swansea got Potter, wasn't he a bit left field and perhaps a `hipster' appointment? How about when we appointed Poch? How about Ralph or Jones? Does the appointment have to be Colin Wanker to avoid that moniker?

I wonder what the difference is. Does the `coach' job title simply mean that he doesn't get a say or final vote on transfers/contract renewals...and maybe an excuse to pay a smaller wage? I'd be interested to know what responsibilities the manager has now and what will be taken away.

got Derby to the play off final in his one season there, albeit they finished 6th and miles behind Leeds in 3rd. He brought in young talent on loan from top Prem clubs, with Mount, Wilson and Tomori particularly successful. Sounds like that (bringing in young talent) will be are continued transfer philosophy next season.

you are missing out. Seeing the contents of the trophy cabinet is worth the fee alone. Highlights for me were the lump of crystal and carriage clock...I kid you not.

Not surprising, as fans don't tend to ask financial questions at the forums. Despite being a customer, not a shareholder, I'd still be keen to know how much debt we have and how much funds is being spent paying interest on the debt rather than going towards cheaper tickets/better players etc. But I didn't attend the forum and attention was on Jones' performance not the financial performance.

McCarthy, Stephens, Walcott and Djenepo getting new contracts would have been all down to Ralph. He is the manager and will get to say who he wants to retain and Semmens would then do the negotiations and sort out the details. Not sure you can blame Semmens for them being retained.

our very own Paul Warhurst. Would keep him out of harm's way.

It was a lovely warm evening in north London, completely ruined by Saints. However, with a really good season behind us and cup final ahead, I am not sure most Saints fans were that downhearted.

If you are struggling, like we have been for a few years, you need a managerial appointment to really excite the fanbase and players to reinvigorate the club and city. KK would do that. He might be able to find some positive momentum pretty quickly. Although Newcastle was/is without doubt his first, second and third love, there is still a connection there, and I think he'd still be a good summer appointment for us and one that might see us bounce straight back. I don't think we'll see him in management again though.

I can't believe I including McCarthy, Perraud, Djenepo and Onuachu in my best eleven, but that's where we are at right now. McCarthy KWP ABK Salisu Perraud Lavia Alcaraz JWP Sulemana Onuachu Djenepo

I missed that, but almost certainly. Our principles are obviously to play short passing football, maintain possession and work it until the player with the ball has some space to move into. Palace actually made it very difficult for us to do that, getting very tight and not allowing anyone with the ball with any time or space. They pushed up, with a very high line, so that meant there was little room to work in - hence we really struggled, especially to get anyone between the lines. Palace clearly worked us out...as so many have over the last few years. IMO we needed more balls over the top towards the corners. Turn them around, and bypass their high press and high line. Onuachu coming on gave us an opportunity to change things, but despite that, we stuck to our guns and just kept trying to find the space with short passes. I think we went long about twice and both long balls from Bednarek simply weren't good enough. Right idea, wrong execution. Like Theo, I don't know why we stuck to our principles right until the very end. More to the point, I don't know why the manager didn't identify that they had a very high line and have a method of countering that - and instructing the players to use it. Maybe he/they are just not tactically astute?
