Great play Bertrand
-
what? We hit the post and then just had it in the back of the net.
-
for all the moaning about Redmond, that was a lovely ball inside for Ings, who is no longer burying everything.
-
pitch ain't helping either side.
-
he doesn't get himself or the side out of jail like he used to when he was lightening quick. We've mis KWP doing them same. That extra pace to cover slow CBs is a must. No way would I be giving him a £100k a week deal or whatever it is he is after. He's still a decent player, no doubt about it, but we've seen the best of him already.
-
not for me. This game isn't over yet.
-
Newcastle have been woeful in recent months. 3-1 down at half time. Thats how poor we are right now. Someone in that dressing room needs to get hold of this team and shake them out of this funk.
-
lots and lots of small mistakes throughout the half that eventually cost us. Poor weight of pass, poor first touches, poor decisions...where has that one touch high quality stuff we played at Leicester gone? I'm all for keeping the ball, and every now and then it will cost you like it has today, you have to accept that, but far too often we just go backwards and then the keeper hoofs it. Better to swing a cross in from deep than hoof a ball a long from your keeper.
-
their biggest threat is Maxine and we have a CB playing out of position marking him.
-
What a shit pass by Ings. Killed the attack. Basic weight of pass has been poor at times.
-
we look wide open when they break and when your lucks out. Ings has to take one of those two chances. Strikers can be just as culpable for defeats.
-
Sounds a lot. In how any games? To be fair, they attack a lot and have pacey tricky players that get in the box...plus one or two that know how to make the most of opportunities. The more you are in the box the more chance you have of getting pens. 19 sounds a lot though.
-
if they deny that request, which I guess they will, there will be a lot more attention on their decisions when they net officiate our games. I actually thought the nightmare against Villa might help, as subconsciously they might even up the score, but I couldn't be more wrong. The idea that Mike Dean will even up the score next time also is doubtful.
-
I wonder what a second 9-0 result has done to Ralphs reputation. Do you think that might put owners off a fraction? I guess if he wins another hatful of games from here then its just a blip.
-
you see games when teams go a man down and lose five nil, but you say to yourself that it could easily have been 10. Missed chances, great saves, slight errors from attacking teams etc. I guess this was one of those days when chances were taken. I'm trying to make myself feel a bit better. Not sure why. Better to wallow in the misery for a bit. It's not healthy, but when we win next, that win will feel great rather than just good.
-
I missed that. Tell me more. If I was on the pitch I think I'd of easily talked myself into a red after that red card decision. Dean is useless.
-
Agreed. I know Stephens is an easy target for some, but he wilted.
-
we didn't press, we parked the bus, but we don't have a clue how to do it, and have defenders that didnt do the basics right, like prevent crosses and head crosses away.
-
In between the VAR/Mike Dean shit show there was a hell of a lot of woeful defending and very limited composure when we got the ball off them. Not nearly enough effort to get tight, some pathetic positioning and heading. Jesus. We've lot a few to injury and United are going well, but you have to do better. So many mistakes. When the pressure is on, you really get to see the quality of players we have...
-
massive fucking dive, never a red, Mike Dean is a cunt, but did they even give him that camera angle that showed Bednarek tried his best to get out the way?
-
this. Zero attention on when ball is actually kicked. VAR is fucking shite. It will benefit us sometimes and go against us at other times, but it will always be shite.
-
I missed the first few minutes. Someone full me in on the red please.
-
I didn't know that. The simplest reasons are always the best. Seems like our choices were pretty limited. Not sure any `young' player would be confident of getting game time with KWP and Bertrand the first choices. Moving to sit on the bench is not what players have in mind.
-
Interesting that we didn't loan johnjoe Kenny from Everton. Perhaps we didn't rate him or Celtic offered more chance of games...
-
Depends on the wages of that player and demand for his services. I've read its less than £500k, but who outside the clubs player and agent knows for sure.
