I assume this is just a statement countering the release of the report, mainly to appease sponsors. I would expect (although this is SR who are fucking awful at PR) a statement with more direction, directed towards the supporters, to come after we've had our initial briefings with these lawyers, and we know more about the future of some players/ our coaches.

I do think there's a plausible route where we internally rectify the situation through our own investigation, and hand out appropriate punishments to individuals involved to show that systemic cheating is not what we accept at our club, whilst also making sure the EFL don't get away with their kangaroo court proceedings.

I get what you mean, he’s a top coach. But are we going to stick with him, and then he gets banned by the FA in a month or two and then we’re stuck without a manager or a plan when the season is starting? We’re still one of the wealthiest teams in the league. We can attract a good manager.

To follow up, I truly believe none of this would've happened if we weren't a parachute payment club. No one would care if it was another team.
