You make a good point. He's obsessed with there being too many fixtures and therefore having to rotate. Hadn't seen the comment about tempo but makes sense. But other teams manage it without six changes a game, suggesting that we lack fitness and stamina generally. Look at the number of late goals conceded, even with the emphasis on fresh players. I'm feeling less and less happy with Puel: the excuses are starting to come instead of motivating and driving the team and accepting that the PL has greater demands than he's previously faced. This really is b*looks, mainly. Yes, it would be good to have a class striker, but they're few on the ground and expensive, and not guaranteed to deliver. The problem is that our talented team not clicking. Whose fault? Maybe the manager, maybe mismatches of characters on the pitch. But the main issue is confidence. This isn't a bad team. We played well for 70+ minutes. But there's no spirit or drive when things go wrong. A striker or strong/creative midfielder would be good in the window, but idoubt anyone better than we've got will be available at a sensible price. The young prospects - McQueen, Sims, Stephens, Reed to name a few, will be better than buying. But I'd love a manager with an ounce of charisma. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Agree with this. The wider issue, once we're out of the Cups, is whether Puel will switch to a consistent strongest team, if he knows what it is. I've understood rotation with 2 games a week, but that doesn't hold water with longer breaks and players need to build understanding. I'd also like to see us go back to 4231. With two holding midfielders there's more freedom for the 3 to get forward. As things are now, we often have 3 holding and effectively 7 at the back and no link to the forwards.
