  1. Not much use to you guys, but in High Wycombe on Friday it was 114.9 for regular unleaded! How on earth then can a garage only 20 miles to the west justifying a price of 122.9p? Daylight bloody robbery IMO.
  2. That obviously don't stretch as far as according Christians some respect by spelling the name of their sect properly?
  3. Oh good. I can't imagine this place without you for weeks on end
  4. I'm surprised you never applied, Stu. I think you'd be really, really good in there.
  5. Le Mans qualifying is far more interesting. Really, it is
  6. Exactly. Until we have a 'This is trash' forum, may I humbly suggest this thread is moved to TMS?
  7. I'd rather he had to endure 40 years worth of whatever treatment is meted out to him than for him to have a quick way out.
  8. I don't doubt it. I could never ever do your job (even if I was technically able to do so).
  9. But you couldn't even if you wanted to, surely?
  10. I think, from what I've read, that most airlines offer this to their staff in one form or another. I think you said you get free travel sometimes?
  11. He's never ever going to come out, is he. And rightly so. I think it was done because the sentencing protocols had changed and a precedent needed to be set. It only means that his case for parole will be reviewed after 40 years instead of 50, not that he will be automatically released. I can't imagine any review board would grant him parole so yes, you're right, it doesn't make any difference.
  12. tutu [not the Desmond variety]
  13. No, I'm suggesting that it's bad practice to put BA staff before paying customers. And that's something management should address. From what I've read (and that's all I can do - my friends no longer work in the industry), staff often have to wait until the very last minute to find out if they've got a seat. But I guess, very occasionally, they get allocated a seat and then a paying fare turns up even later. I wonder how other airlines that operate concessionary travel for staff manage THAT situation?
  14. But they're not non-paying. They apparently (according to all press reports I've read) pay a percentage plus taxes.
  15. That's bad - very bad management IMO.
  16. And it does deny the opportunity to say that there was no real choice. She might not get many votes from the PLP but I bet she picks up quite a few union and constituency votes.
  17. No I'm not being obtuse at all. If a BA plane flies to a destination, then I'm saying it's understandable that a crew member might choose to live in that destination (and hop on the return flight to Gatwick / Heathrow to go to work). Sorry if I didn't make my point clear.
