Having taken onboard peoples views on the new kit, some like some don’t, each to their own, from a personal point of view I am just annoyed that my club has one of the most iconic songs in “oh when the saints “ that is chanted at football, it should be played very loud over the loudspeakers at st Mary’s as the last song before kick off yet it doesn’t get played (even the fish down the road play portsmuff before kick off) and we have one of the most recognisable kit in our stripes with black shorts white socks and we manage to cock that up every year! It’s like those in charge want to get rid of our tradition. Could you imagine Newcastle playing in anything other than black and white stripes or Liverpool wearing other than all red nowadays. All clubs changed early days but once settled on a kit then that’s what makes you you!

1972 kit is the best!!! Just looks like saints!
-
Really looking forward to the new saints 21-22 kits .... after all it’s our 136th year so must commemorate that!! These are nice kits but we are not Peru....sorry am not a fan... will dig out the red sash kit of 10 years ago, that DID commemorate something and was nice and simple.

I have had a worse couple of days 😂

There’s one on eBay now for away trips £7.50..WILL GET THAT ., I SAW IT FIRST SO HANDS OFF

Blimey we are copying Eastleigh Fc of a few years ago!! They had blue home and red away!! Wot is it with this sash!!! Is it just me???
-
If a team wore a red top ie Man U or a blue top Ie Everton then you can see how difficult it is to keep it fresh every year, we are stripes we don’t need to be FANCY stripes ZIGZAG stripes BROKEN stripes or anything other than STRIPES. They can be tweaked here and there but how else are stripes meant to look???? We can go thinner or thicker Or a combo of both, we can go pinstripe here and there ,mainly white sleeve or red sleeve we can go loads of ways and changes every year but the fundamental thing is STRIPES!!
-
How difficult would it be to have something like these??? It does make you wonder , just shows you it really isn’t hard to have some imagination with stripes. I have said previously that we should keep to stripes or a take on the “keegan” top, not averse to sash on the away though. White away looks yummy but two reasons why I wouldn’t want it is firstly many will dig out their anniversary tops and secondly we would need a third kit, yellow and blue version ticks the box!!!
-
Reverse version in yellow and blue wd be a great away kit. Not for me as a home kit too, stripes for me!
-
A yellow third.... there’s my theory , no need for black as a second, have yellow as a second!!
-
Yep, the classic saints top. Am sure a modern version based on that wd be a winner with everyone, be nice to have it without a plain back aswell as that’s not a requirement, also be good to keep for a couple of years and tweak just a bit more after that .

Bit too busy for me, Take out the middle stripe on chest, make sleeves white and have a red stripe running down top of the sleeve! sorry it sounds like I am an expert I don’t mean to sound like a know all just again my opinion. Lovely though that us fans can come up with stuff that trumps what we inevitably get!! More concepts if any of you can come up with some.
-
Yeah that’s the kinda thing, pretty simple!!! If I am going to be fussy I wouldn’t have anything around the badge, doesn’t need it and no need for any black on the shirt in my opinion, whatever us fans come up with our new shirt will be something completely left field as has been allegedly leaked. Surely if a simple striped shirt at around £40 was being lined up then it would sell like hot cakes! The stadium would be filled of red and white!! Am just worried the new thing we get is chosen not long after the kit we have Now!! . On the same theme I think it should be a ruling that only two kits ie a home and away kit is needed per club. We play in red and white, away kit yellow, touch of blue as in shorts, we wouldn’t need another kit! I am old skool I guess, I hate Liverpool but when they turned up at The Dell in yellow it just looked like Liverpool, nowadays teams like them have a white second kit then need a black one to play us, same with other teams another example Man City have that classic red and black striped away kit, it looks like Man City, they look like a packet of refresher sweets these days!!
-
Absolutely agree with that. Keep it simple, shorts should be the only thing with black on, white socks or red and white hoop socks. SIMPLES
-
🤦🏻♂️ I really hope that is not our new shirt, it’s awful!! In no way does that look like SOUTHAMPTON FC . A few seasons ago we had plain red tops , this is just as bad!! Am sure many will like but my opinion is we are red and white, that top is red with a white bit.
-
Since when did Saints play in a red kit with white sash? It’s a nice shirt but definitely not a Saints kit!!! Yes we have had the anniversary kit as a nod to our first kit but we really need to keep our identity a bit more, STRIPES!!! I know we have mucked around with the stripes a few times and the early 80’s Keegan kit I loved and grew up on but we really need to keep stripes. How difficult can this be? Every season we speculate and end up with an abomination!!A take on the 1976-1980 shirt would be my personal preference, more white than red, it really should be simple!! Talking of which and I know this would be controversial what about an updated badge, again something simple, a football with the halo above it, 1885 in the football and SOUTHAMPTON FC in red and white lettering under it, maybe in the scarf style? Am sure that would look clean, crisp, simple and obvious to anyone it’s SAINTS!!
