Personally I thought Wood and Burn were poor signings for a club with such financial clout. Seemed desperate at the time because no one else would sign for them. Although I’m not a big fan of Howe, he has to take credit for turning a totally demoralised, unorganised team and turning them around with a few ok-ish signings.
