Would have been lovely to see Jose back at St Marys. However we then wouldn’t have seen THB come here as he would have expected to be 4th choice CB. If we get promoted we have an obligation to buy him. The lad is quality, we should be building the team around him and doing all we can to keep him. Personally I think three of our starting back four will do fine in the PL should we make it. Could Jose do a job in the PL next year? - might have been a stretch, and there would be no prospect of selling him for big money. Still would have liked to see him back in the shirt though.

KUMB Forum seems quite happy to let Flynn Downes go as they now have an embarrassment of riches in midfield. £20m was the fee suggested on the basis it was the same price we requested for Nathan Tella last summer - a loanee that played a crucial part in promotion from the Championship.

Watching this training video Stu doesn't seem to be giving off "I'm leaving" vibes, I'm pleased to say. Can't really see Flynn or Will heading off. Charlie isn't featured much. Hopefully we don't loose any of them. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/video/inside-staplewood-setting-up-for-swansea

Tall Paul came on in the 88th minute in Nigeria's win over home side Ivory Coast in AFCON. Final whistle was 90+9 I think. Big Joe Aribo was on the subs bench.

Thanks for that - a good read.

This one - this is my favourite Charlie Wayman! Can we have more of this one please 😇

That was only two games though, and corresponds with the period when RM admits he tried to teach the guys too much, too quickly. (2 of our 4 losses) You could call that a tweak, but I don't think it's a big re-think. As the guys have got better at the style they've added the occasional lofted pass from THB or Smallbone, and the midfield have got better and braver at 'thread the needle' style through balls to the attackers. These skills might work well if we did get promoted and ended up with 45-55% possession: That would fit our pacy attacker's play too (Sully, Sam, SAA, Fraser, Arma) If Che stayed he could play the Pelle role; knocking down airborne through balls to runners. Incidentally Leicester are now on 4 losses too. The difference is they have drawn only 2 while we have drawn 7 (as have Ipswich).

Or maybe it just took a while for the players to get good at the new style? You know, that it takes time to learn; as was explained in every press conference in excruciating detail for months…

Sunderland have very little quality - how did we loose to these?! Little to fear at home surely...

Lets hope the Danes can fix it for Ipswich to get pumped at home 🤞 -

Beders has had an illness recently. Saving him the last few minutes with the game assured seems a reasonable call -

KWP has been an absolute rockstar playing out of defence under severe pressure today. So brave, usually beats two, then pass to Smallbone and then a lovely wafted pass forwards. Loving our play today -

I'm in France and couldn't get my stream to work, until I turned on a VPN for the UK; then it worked fine. 😉 -
Great result for us 😄

Clearly there was a concern at the departure of so many double-barrelled players in the summer. Is signing JOBW a statement of intent?!

Does Charly have any handy mates back home who might fancy a loan? 🧐

This description I can completely believe. But that isn't how you first described it: "I saw Don Roper after he had come back from Arsenal hit a flat volley from the halfway line that went in under the diving goalkeeper and was hit so hard it hit the iron stanchion at the back of the net and came back out under the still airborn goalkeeper." If you had written the accurate description instead of a load of bollocks, then perhaps you wouldn't have felt the need to be such a condescending twat. I passed the aptitude tests to be a commercial pilot - just not the medical.
