  1. Mind you, they creamed themselves over the mighty Bondz N'Gala too.
  2. But RB says he's a top L1 player and the few are already saying he is a Yaya Toure...
  3. I think they are safe from relegation by virtue of Wycombe who are in free fall. Which is a shame as I don't believe they could service the CVA from the Conference. But I think they will continue to struggle in L2 with no training facilities and journeyman players so plenty to gawp at yet.
  4. I think Blakey was referring to whether he will buy a ticket for the Denmark game!
  5. Says the Guardian. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/12/roy-hodgson-ashley-cole-england-future
  6. I really think Steve Bruce is the nicest of fellers. Very complimentary of Saints tonight in the BBC interview at http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26027957 I have seen him be equally generous of other sides this season rather than bemoaning bad luck like some other managers or even scoring cheap points like certain winning managers. Hats off to Mr Bruce. A thoroughly decent man in an era when most premiership managers can't do the same. I hope Hull do well under his stewardship.
  7. The way to kibosh this is through Challenging the lifting of the restrictive covenant IMO.
  8. "Am I pleased to see you, or did I just put a canoe in my pocket?"
  9. Yes, there is. There is a reduction of £720,000 in money from the Football League although this is offset in the first Conference season by a parachute of about £200,000 for one season only. Pompey's figures showed they made £2,500,000 from season ticket sales this season from about 10,000 supporters so each paid an average of £250. How many will renew that to go and see Skrill teams? Maybe half? So they lose another £1,250,000 there. Lower attendances means less pies and programmes bought so more there. Plus other merchandising. That adds up to an annual reduction of over £2m (minus ones season of PPs). How would they contemplate servicing the CVA with that shortfall?
  10. Panic on the board at Fratton. I estimate relegation would cause annual revenue loss of over £2m.
  11. So I wonder whether councillors have voted against the core plan by removing the covenant. It will certainly make an interesting case for those opposing the proposal such as small shop owners if they get their acts together and persuade the planning officer that it is wrong.
  12. She hasn't really got the idea of Twitter a a PR tool has she? But then if Micah Hall is guiding her what do you expect?
  13. An informative article at http://www.footballeconomy.com/content/keeping-conference-club-going The chairman of Skrill club Hereford discusses the financial difficulties caused by relegation from L2 in detail. Immediate drop in revenue from FL sources of £720,000 annually. One season of PPs worth £215,000. Falls in gate revenue greater than expected.
  14. fridayfeelin 11:30 AM on 03/02/2014 Iam pleased that most of he supporters at the game haven't tarnished all the players with the same brush eg Taylor who didn't stop running and held the ball up well. Its is the lack of passion that has got to me, these teams come to play at fratton Park and its their cup final day, these teams only used to 3 and 4 thousand supporters at the most and they get a buzz out of the whole occasion, our players are used to it but cant seem to raise their game. RB should change things around if players are lacking bring the youngsters in pup And they wonder why they have little sympathy?
  15. Ha! Pompey hotel roof collapses in the night and Torquay players have to evacuate. Says it all really.
  16. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-v-torquay-live-1-5848990 chrispfcds 5:20 PM on 01/02/2014 OMFG U SAD DIRTY INBRED MORONS. GO AWAY AND ENJOY UR OWN TEAMS VICTORY. U INBRED LOT ARE STRANGE BREAD. Mega lols. Wheatgerm, wholemeal or maybe sour dough!
  17. So much for the much vaunted Fratton factor! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/blues-need-to-use-fratton-factor-1-5846329 Looking forward to reading tonight's meltdown comments!
  18. Love the vitriol being spewed at DC by a good number of the usual suspects. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/connolly-joins-oxford-on-loan-1-5847269 Hero to villain in less than half a day.
  19. Sorry about my language, I'm from Pompey. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/sorry-about-my-language-i-m-from-portsmouth-1-5847480 Says it all.
  20. But if you have paid less than £250 for a season ticket at FP there is a bit of cash to spare for away games.
  21. Well, it seems they got lucky last night. Hopefully it will go to their heads and fill them with overconfidence.
  22. Urghhh....
  23. There is nothing about China in this article and it looks like HSBC are merely covering their backs with regards to dirty money laundering and illegal activity with regards to large sum withdrawals, maybe OTT though. China is running a huge surplus and still has 7% growth. Expected to be largest world exonomy by 2020.
  24. Having emptied the pockets of the phew the PDT are now targeting the business community as they desperately strive to get more pledges to keep them above that 50% mark. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/businesses-should-invest-in-pompey-union-branch-says-1-5835109
  25. The quality over quantity article is a bit bizarre also. Barker says he wants players who can play over 40 games a season as his core team. But he has signed Ryan Taylor and Ben Chorley who have spent a good proportion of the last year injured for their previous sides.
