  1. Hello folks. Match day for Valenciennes as they welcome Dijon to the Stade du Hainaut. Kick-off 7.30pm French time. The link match on YouTube: There's no question about it, we need to get back to winning ways if we are not to lose too much distance from the top of the table. At home, in front of the fans, we hope with all our hearts for victory. Allez VA !
  2. Incredible scenario today... Courage, my friends...
  3. The day after the match, and a second league defeat this season. We have regrets, because we have the potential to do much better. It's been a bit of a complicated period and I'd say there are 2 reasons for that: We don't have defensive stability because we've lost our experienced defender Bakaye Dibassy to injury until January 2025. In attack, we're relying too much on our top scorer Mathias Oyewusi and the other strikers aren't scoring either... The situation is still far from critical, as we are still well placed in the table, but we will have to react very quickly if we are not to be left behind in the league. As for the fans, they are gradually becoming annoyed and impatient, and they hope that answers will soon be found.
  4. Kick-off 7.30pm French time, 6.30pm London time
  5. Hello folks. Some news from my team. After the heavy 4-1 defeat at Orléans, VAFC played last Sunday in the French Cup against Compiègne (6ᵉ division), a quiet 3-0 victory. We also lost our number 1 goalkeeper, Jean Louchet, to injury following a shock against Versailles. Unfortunately, our goalkeeper tore his anterior cruciate ligaments (he will be out of action for around 6 months). The club has recruited a new, experienced goalkeeper in Mathieu Michel, who will play his first official match this evening against Sochaux. https://www.transfermarkt.fr/mathieu-michel/profil/spieler/193142 So tonight, Valenciennes travel to Sochaux as part of the 9ᵉ journey . We hope to get back to winning ways, but it won't be easy. Here is the YouTube link for the match: Have a good day. Allez VA !
  6. End of match: 4-1 defeat. Logical score. Good night to all.
  7. There's nothing to say, they deserved to win tonight...
  8. Penalty and penalty and penalty and penalty.... WTF !
  9. As expected, our opponents started the game with a high pressing game that put us in trouble on a waterlogged pitch. We were put in a difficult position and were unable to get into our opponents' half. We'll have to do better in the second half!
  10. Hello, friends, It's match day for Valenciennes, who are replaying their late game against Orléans after the initial match was interrupted by a fire in the refreshment room. The match will be replayed in its entirety with a score of 0-0, as the match was interrupted for more than 45 minutes. The aim is to continue their unbeaten run and, if they win, VA will move to the top of the National league table. Here is the YouTube link for tonight's match: (kick-off 19:30 French time). Allez VA !
  11. I'm sad for you guys... The Premier League isn't the toughest league in the world for nothing... Arsenal aren't easy to play against this year (unlike some other years haha). Don't give up, I hope that solutions will soon be found to get back on track as soon as possible. I'm thinking of you, my friends.
  12. Goallllllllll 😍
  13. That's right! 4 consecutive games where the score ended in a draw, with a penalty conceded each time too. Not a good run of games at the moment, but we're still unbeaten in the league and we're 4th today. If we win the replay at Orléans on Wednesday following the refreshment stall fire, you'll go top of the table. (Let's hope we don't concede another penalty!). We're still a little frustrated, though, because these are points we've lost foolishly and we'll have to do better if we hope to climb back into Ligue 2 at the end of the season.
  14. Hello friends! Match day for Valenciennes, who welcome FC Villefranche Beaujolais to the Stade du Hainaut this evening. The aim: to continue their unbeaten run in the league and get back to winning ways after three consecutive draws. Kick-off 7.30pm French time. Youtube link for the match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHjTqbXVE5I Happy Friday to all our friends. Allez Valenciennes !
  15. 3-1 come on !!!
  16. Good evening, folks, I'm watching the match and my heart aches for you... We need to get out of this downward spiral of results as quickly as possible. Don't give up! Go, Saints!
  17. I admit I don't have much of an opinion on Daouda, he's not playing much at the moment, probably because of the competition and the fact that there aren't many injured players in his position. Personally, I like him and find him very interesting.
  18. We're a little disappointed because we're not winning at the moment, with 3 draws in 3 games, even though we feel that we're physically better than our opponents. The idea is above all that we want to get as many points as possible as quickly as possible, and fortunately our rivals aren't winning this weekend either. We hope for a better result in the next game!
  19. Extra time proved to be another bad day for our friends as they conceded a goal in the dying moments of yesterday's match... Let's wish our brothers a better game next time!
  20. End game. Final score: 1-1. Goal Versailles: https://x.com/NationalFFF/status/1839365856775811448 Goal VAFC: https://x.com/NationalFFF/status/1839378077417197664 2 points lost tonight...
  21. At the last game against Orléans, there were around 1,300 people out of a capacity of 20,000, and quite a few empty seats.
  22. National : le FC Versailles continuera de jouer au stade Jean-Bouin à Paris - Le Parisien National: FC Versailles will continue to play at the Jean-Bouin stadium in Paris INFO LE PARISIEN. Due to the non-accreditation of its stadium, the Yvelines club has finally decided, as it did last year, to play its home games this season at the Stade Français rugby ground rather than at the Entente Sannois-Saint-Gratien football ground. History repeats itself. Almost to the day a year ago, FC Versailles, promoted to the French National (3rd division), surprisingly chose to play their home games at the Jean-Bouin stadium in Paris (16th arrondissement), home of rugby players Stade Français, rather than footballers Entente Sannois-Saint-Gratien. As the Montbauron stadium in Versailles has still not been approved, the Yvelines club has been wavering between the two venues for the 2023-2024 financial year. Particularly as the Michel-Hidalgo stadium in Saint-Gratien (Val-d'Oise) hosted FC Versailles' last two home matches (against Red Star and Avranches) at the end of last season due to the unavailability of the Jean-Bouin stadium. According to our information, the management of Versailles have decided to stay at the Jean-Bouin stadium. This is a sign that the club's ambitions and resources have not diminished, despite the change of president during the off-season. The club paid around €80,000 per match (all inclusive) to rent the Jean-Bouin stadium last season. Thanks to the arrival of its new chairman and majority shareholder, Alexandre Mulliez, grandson of the founder of the Auchan group and former vice-chairman of Auchan Retail France, FC Versailles has been able to successfully pass the scrutiny of the Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG), even though the risk of filing for bankruptcy could not have been ruled out a month and a half ago.
  23. Hello everyone! Match day for Valenciennes, who play Versailles tonight at the Stade Jean Bouin in Paris. Here's the link to tonight's match: (kick-off 7.30pm French time): The match was originally due to be played tomorrow, but the stadium where the match is being played is next to the Parc des Princes where PSG play Rennes on Saturday. The aim was to win the match and recover the points lost last weekend against Concarneau. Allez VA §
  24. Additional time is definitely not working for us this weekend 😭
  25. The day after the match, and after a few hours' sleep, here are my thoughts on yesterday's game: The first half was incredible, we were 2-0 up after 10 minutes and at half-time we went into the dressing room with a 3-0 lead. In the stands, we were feeling confident and, like the players, I thought we were going to win the game, but we didn't count on a number of things that happened in the 2nd half: - Our players slackened off and didn't play with the same intensity as in the 1st half. - Refereeing - let's face it - not in our favour (on 2 of Concarneau's 3 goals, we had a player on the ground). - 7 minutes of extra time, but the referee blew his whistle for the equaliser at 90+9... Most of us felt that it was a draw that tasted like defeat. I think that yesterday's game will be a good lesson for the club and our players, so that they can tell themselves that nothing is decided or won in advance in this championship. We're still unbeaten in the league and in 3rd place with 1 game in hand. There will be better games and we hope we can do better very soon. Allez VA!
