  1. Would be very happy with that, but I suspect that it may be a little more unusual.

True, watching it full screen on my 32" television is a little easier when drunk.

If you don't have access to local radio and news it's invaluable. The highlights are not that high a quality (but they are working at that so it seems) and for £4.29 a month it's pretty good for us exiles. Having radio solent commentary out of area is superb for away games/home cup ties. It can only however be a stop-gap until actual live game video streaming is available.

Up to £4.29. Hmmmm, not too bad. And now: 'Near HD video quality.' 'Coveritlive' Live chat - Not required, frankly. Just give me the ability to actually WATCH Saints games live anywhere, that's all I ask.
  5. Ok, i'll bite. Spill the details then.
  6. That's putting it very, very mildly.
  7. Ah, but how many were in the home end?
  8. Indeed, wasn't that company SPECIFICALLY set up in the UK to ensure that the takeover could be facilitated in as clear, upfront and legitimate a way as possible?
  9. Only after he formally took control of affairs. He didn't actually own the club until someone needed to be made public. Incidentally, I hope that Cortese is baying for blood after that. The implication that our ownership by the estate of Markus Liebherr could be anything other then above board is nothing short of libelous.
  10. So, the kit is going to be late.... which is why the shirt printing section of the shop has been shielded off. I smell something.......
  11. Oh come on we all know it'll be the cheapest cotton and some sweatshop somewhere terribly deprived. Southsea or similar.
  12. Unveiled on wednesday I believe. Then we can finally put the topic to rest.
  13. They are goal threats, but it's strange, I wouldn't think of them as out and out strikers or poachers. They are forwards (or in Adam's case an attacking midfielder who has traits you would normally associate with a forward) who do score but who also contribute far more then just a goal threat. We don't have anyone in the squad who just scores goals. All players we have seem to do more, there is no Clinton Morrison or Peter Crouch type. A target man, an out and out goalscorer. Maybe it's just indicative of how we play under Nigel Adkins, we want players who don't just fit into a pigeon hole. Certainly, under Pardew Rickie was an out and out forward but last year that changed. He started drifting wide, chasing down play more. Considering that one of the big problems with Pard's team was it's 'predictability' for poorer opposition then maybe it's a good thing. We had a fair few frustrating home draws in his tenure, something that Nigel banished. We are now a far more versatile unit.
  14. Agree, if we were to do that I would be more tempted to play Rickie in the hole. Use his latent footballing ability to hold up possession and bring others into play while also being a tangible threat himself. -------------- Cork ----------- Morgan ------------- Chamberlain ---------- Rickie ---------------- Lallana ------------------Barnard/Connolly------------------
  15. I was born in Ashford, Kent and stayed there until I was 10 years old. My Dad moved jobs and that mean the family moved on to Colden Common, as a result of spending my teenage years in Hampshire I started following Saints but I wouldn't say I was a fan yet. While I was in Hampshire I mainly supported non-league Margate as I saw them play quite a lot through my Dad's friendship with their club secretary. As time went on though I gained more independance as I grew up, through my friends I started following Saints more and more, even going to the occasional game when I could afford it. When I went to Uni in Coventry back in 2002 it became impossible to follow Margate in any serious way and my support for Saints completely took over. Match of the Day and the internet forums of the time became a lifeline. Also that we made the FA Cup final in my first year away from home and the interest that drew meant that a lot of people would talk to me about Saints as an ice breaker, by this point my support for the club had been absolutely cemented. I continue to live in Coventry with work but I remain a Saints fan, the pain of being ineligible for a ticket to the 2003 Cup Final has driven me to hold a season ticket whenever I can now afford to, I don't want to miss out on anything like that ever again.
  16. Absolutely. That we have competition for every single place, and we are still looking to strengthen, is fantastic. It's been years since we've had such a deep squad.
  17. Can't quite see it myself Turkish.
  18. This. With Chaplow and Hamster as more then capable backup.
  19. Anything short of automatic promotion will be seen as failure by some. A season of mid-table safety would however be a great foundation to have going forward, ours is after all a five year plan, not five month. Norwich set a stunning precedent last season but they are the exception, not the norm. It would be great to match their achievement but a more humble target would not be a failure, it would be a sign of progress.
  20. There are a few Evertonians I know who will be livid at that.
  21. Watford have just lost one of their key strikers to Swansea. To lose Sordell would be a hammer blow to them, no doubt they would need some serious compensation.
  22. The prices I have are as follows: Adults S/Sleeve, £42 Adults L/Sleeve, £47 So a price rise of £2. Not that much actually. As a previous poster said as well the shirts have been £40 for a very long time now so that's not actually too bad. As for the £3.50.... That's the postage cost. Hardly a tax.
  23. This is one of the reasons why I do love our manager, every now and then his media facade slips and he comes out with something quite revealing.
  24. Even Coventry City managed a full house against Chelsea. I wonder how many were supporting the home team.
