We do not not belong in this league with the set up we have ... FULLSTOP. We ended up here through years of incompetence at the top and paid the price of trying to keep the wolf from the door by selling/giving away players (and manager) we couldn't afford to keep, and playing teenagers and hiring a cheap alternative coaching set up. Meanwhile a certain team not to far away still have players on huge contracts and over a 100 million quid of defecit wiped out .... who says cheats never prosper. But the moral high ground is ours. Hats off to teams below us who are somehow managing on crowds of 3 -5000 a week yet still gve us a good run for our money. We are everybodies Cup Final - I bet the majority of fans in this league look forward to a home or away match V us than any other team including BHA in this division. If the knowledge that we have by far and away the best stadium/training facilities/ squad/ fan base etc etc in this league makes us arrogant - then so be it. Hopefully in a few weeks time we will be dragged down to being just an average set up in a bigger pond.

....but not the be all and end all of next season .. just a little local distraction from our 5 year plan - The Prem. TBH I'd rather they got a massive point deduction and end up relegated rather than have a big pay day from our visit to their p!ss poor excuse of a stadium, plus the hype etc that could distract us from our main aim. Please slap the 1st person and anybody who joins in any Pompey here we come chants.

I think unless there was a major shift in GD (did they use that back then or goals scored?) even a loss would have still seen us go up. I could be wrong though - so to say we'd have preffered Spurts to go up is a bit of a fallacy as brighton would more than likely have been a candidate for relegation the next year and leave only 2 spots for us to worry about!!

Cripes .... what a bunch of glory hunters we are .... twas mine as well !!! I think a lot of of us owe a big thanks to our parents/ uncles/aunties/grandads etc who dragged us along back then when we were snotty nosed kids into a world that has been a lifetime roller coaster ride ever since!!! They had to be there at the Milton Road turnstiles at 1 o clock to ensure us a good view of the game - what a sacrifice - 1hr 50 mins of boozing time wasted on us!!! From what I can tell they got promoted a couple of years before us and presumably relegated the year we went up as we didn't play them in Div 2.

Even more warm fuzzy feelings going on - whats it going to be like when we are statistically sure of promotion!!!

OK lets factor in the old 2 points per win back in the day - and as far as I can see and can be arsed to do, is the last time we were promoted from the 3rd tier back in 59/60 with 26 wins and 9 draws would equal 87 nowadays - so we will hopefully better that in the next 2 games and set up a un pressurised promotion day party v Walsall ... and NO mention of skates please.
