  1. Yes. That'll be 6040x1080p, b!tch
  2. Fair play. The whole "he has a flight simulator so he must be a deranged fantasist" is what I take issue with. As I said before, it's more likely to be a professional tool and an investment in one's career. I've always had gear over and above consumer-level for my work.
  3. This man gets it. [video=youtube;mlv7Bp-L2MM] Not so much....
  4. A real life version of Colin Hunt? Don't buy it. Let's look at the flight sim angle first. How many pilots do you reckon HAVEN'T ever used a flight simulator, even a commercial one, in this day and age? I appreciate that building a flight simulator is a different level of effort, but really, apart from the specialist controls, his setup looks no different from mine. If one of my friends was training to be a pilot, seeing that kind of setup in his or her house wouldn't set alarm bells ringing. I'd see it as a professional tool.
  5. Completely agree and made a similar point earlier on. We've got assets that are rare. Most cities don't have two rivers, a coastline and whatnot. As someone who loves Riverside Park and Woodmill, always thought it was a shame that you couldn't walk the whole river down to Weston Shore. It was understandable when Vospers was there, but today, could have a real embankment thing going on.
  6. History over in Ireland can be a bit conflicting. Also, a lot of people don't bother to look it up. William of Orange is bigged up as the saviour of the Protestant population, yet he had the backing of the Pope. James II, the Protestant king who converted to Catholicism, did not - largely because he had chosen to ally himself with Louis XIV. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/jul/12/northernireland.comment Also, not as important, but still quite amusing. I know NI'er's who support Liverpool FC because Everton play in blue, Rangers play in blue and so presumably, Everton is the obvious Protestant side. Anyone that knows the history of the two clubs will know that when Liverpool could actually be arsed with sectarianism, Everton was the side for the Catholics.
  7. Please:- 1) refrain from using me in your "arguments" 2) stop nicking my put-downs, ta. The use of "demons" has been trademarked on this site for another, highly specific use.

  9. Yes, Nolan. All these software houses providing games for new consoles find out about the machine at EXACTLY the same time as the public. Titanfall has been in development since 2011. Wasn't originally a One game, but EA ( and all big partners ) would have known what was coming down the pipeline well ahead of the public.
  10. I don't know. An alternate theory is that it was a tiresome c**t doing a third-rate impression of one of SaintsWeb's intelligent posters. Ain't entertaining that forever, though.
  11. The analyst is directly quoting EA's former CEO. He's either lying (and will presumably will face a lawsuit) or we can assume it happened.

The only place I can remember the name of is Jesters. We were also down on the Barbican. Yeah, would agree with that. Most other places don't have Military Police waiting (with some justification) for it all to kick off.

Will never forget my first few months here. Used to hang around with a mush called Macca, a local who'd taken us all under his wing. On one of our first nights out, we're rinsed and walking through Church Street. Walking past a big gang of girls, Macca starts pointing at them and with a big scouse accent, says:- "You're making an effort. She's making an effort. But you CLEARLY aren't making an effort!" Immediately back from the girl; "'Ey! I'm making an effort!" Macca's not especially good looking, and neither were too many others in our Software Engineering crowd. Just doesn't seem to be as important up here. People are more interested in the laugh. I think it's the Irish in 'em.

Of course they're not. That is one of the reasons the city is so much fun.

Completely disagree. Went down to Plym to hang with my best mate for a few days after a break-up with a girl. The Navy lads were a top laugh and I can confirm that there were plenty of women. It was a fine drinking town.
  16. Yeah, of course. http://www.craveonline.com/gaming/articles/653445-analyst-titanfall-2-wont-be-xbox-exclusive-former-ea-ceo-thought-ms-would-kick-sonys-butt-next-gen http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2014/03/pachter_titanfall_exclusivity_due_to_industry_thinking_xbox_one_would_eat_ps4s_lunch Sort your Tapatalk signature out, Muggle
  17. Sweeping it under the carpet was impossible the moment everybody was told how offended they needed to be.
  18. Well, MS's decision to buy exclusivity has worked on at least one level. It's a good game though; just a bit of a p!sser that such a coarse strategy (spend enough money to limit the market on a big third-party game) from a consumer's point of view. The only thing that is stopping this from running on the PS4 is a big pile of cash. EA are apparently p!ssed off that they misjudged the sales situation so much. Their former CEO thought that Microsoft was going to "eat Sony's lunch".
  19. Nope, but they make chips that go into vehicles, some for remote control. Probably a coincidence, but at the same time, a mistake to say there is no potential overlap between what Freescale does and what happened to the plane.
  20. You might be being slightly cynical, but I can see how you'd take that view. For many people, moving abroad etc is going to have been a massive choice and something of a personal achievement. Bit of self-justification is to be expected. Definitely have a measure of sympathy with the last point. I live in a town which has good nightlife, but rarely use it.
  21. Haven't heard of them; what web-sites have you been visiting, exactly?
  22. I haven't looked into any of this, tbh. Bigger things going on with Ukraine and the like. Sky News are reporting that the plane sent pings to satellites for five hours after ground control lost it, which suggests hijack and someone missing one of the reporting systems. http://news.sky.com/story/1226217/plane-sent-signals-hours-after-contact-lost
  23. If you're going to call Barry a babe, can you PM him please?
  24. They need to sort their proof-reading out. Don't leave it to the spell checker, kids. Press release makes it sound like SeaCity Museum is ordering visitors by the crate, presumably from some subterranean complex in Austria.
  25. It's either trolling or self-delusion.
