That was not the FL stance, they refused to differentiate, between the two entities, where as the premier league are saying they will or at least look at it. I would assume that a good percentage of clubs in the prem have the structure of a holding company and the club itself and therefore wouldn't get punished in the same way as we did, simply as they are in the prem. My expectation was that rules governing this sort of thing would be universal across all leagues, when it obviously isnt the case.

LOL at the admin man who doesn't understand why it was a Saints thread. Might be polite to post why it was moved and by whom (Not to mention the three posts on it from another admin)
-
Thats exactly what they are saying, but re read the bit about the only time they would not give a deduction and think of how many points we started the season on.

CS, If they do go to court, they are likely to lose. Story has been on tv tonight saying unless they get a new owner, then they can't pay . The only thing that would buy them time is administration.....so whay havent they done it I can't beleieve that even story would blunder on regardless, if this was an option and the only conclusion i can think of, is that administrators won't take them on as their chances of success or being paid are so low. I know naff all about these things, but that's the only thing that makes any sense to me at the moment.

Ive actually posted a thread on the main board, based on scudamores response to that...... it ****sed me off a little

Sorry to soil the board with this, but last week a group of pimpley fans met up with Richard Scudamore & co from the Premier League. They published the minutes from the meeting and without pasting it all, there was one bit that caught my eye and really ****ed me off. I know this is the premier league and our points deduction was from the FA, but I would have thought the rules for something like this would be universal. Then moved on to a specific part of question 3 - Due to the unique circumstances that have beset Portsmouth FC, SOS Pompey believes the Premier League should accept that there SHOULD NOT be any points deduction if the club enters Administration or is taken over by the Premier League. RS - The PL see no reason why this would be deemed as special circumstance as the only time in which the PL Board would exercise discretion on a points deduction is if a holding company suffers an event of insolvency but the club to which it is linked does not. It is virtually impossible to investigate which exact mismanagement or specific incident would take PFC into administration. It would be as a result of a number of incidents and, as such, there is no reason why a precedent would be set with regard to not deducting 9 points. The PL said that they would obviously look at any event of insolvency but, as things stand, it was highly likely that were PFC to go into administration then a points deduction would be the sanction

I wouldn't be surprised if administrators have been in talks and refused to take them on. People have mentioned that we were turned dwon, prior to being taken on by BT. No one really knows the real level of debt, but the operating costs are fairly significant, that they would need to realise any of the 3 bits below They have 3 main streams of revenue. 1) Sky money - Looks like they will lose that but they will get 30 million over two years of parachute payments 2) Ticket revenue 3) Player sales (window not open yet) Additionally they are likely to suffer points deductions, which could be as high as minus 30, so if they do find an administrator who will take them own and assuming it takes 3 months, they will need to find 6 million + just to kept trading, then someone who will pay around 5 million for the club, which may or may not come with a ground (IF Chainrai holds onto it), will still continue to lose money each month and a very real chance they could get relagated again next season. That's a big ask from any administrator

Now now Geneva, they are being bought by a prince..... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Saudi-Prince-in-talks-over.6050292.jp

I don't think so, but not 100% sure. I would hazard a guess though, that admin is the very last thing story wants. Not only would he be out on his ear, but the accounts will be laid bare to everybody and if as many suspect that they have been trading insolvently, he could not only face charges, but be persobally liable for some or all of the debt.
-
1) They go into Admin today or tomorrow, but time is ticking on and it doesn't seem like that is the path they want to go down. 2) They roll the dice and gamble. They have requested a stay of execution, stating that they will pay but need more time. I'm guessing that this is what will happen and they will be granted 28 days as per Notts County, to come up with the money. My money would be on the 2nd scenario, but if Chairai, does get to keep the land as a creditor, then he will at least come out of it with something. The 28 days will buy him time to see if he can flog the club for anymore or not
-
Chainrai owns the ground and the land right? If the club goes into liquidation, can he still keep these? I am assumming yes, as that was the terms of his loan. So may be HMRC winding up the club, gives him hassle free ownership of the land and he's not the bad guy who folded the club. It's not going to get near the 17 million he is owed, but the other option is to throw good money after bad with no guarantees, he will get anything back at all. If he is in bed with gadamak, it's damage limitation, if they are the enemies they want us to believe then Chainrai has the ultimate hummiliation over him...... The man that bust his toy.

Less than 1200 pounds. Payable to Keith Granger - Goal keeping coach

Quality is awful , but you get the gist. Whatever the best players in the World did, Le Tiss did better. We've all seen his goals, but I have never seen this clip or comparisson. What the fook would he be worth now in todays market. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwZI5MlxKVQ&feature=fvw

Always enjoy your posts Docker P, but think you are worng on this one. Happy to see us go back to day 1 kit
-
Quick question (Actually it took us over 5 pints in the club this afternoon to come up with any sort of concensus) assuming they stay in business and the FA launch some sort of investigation , what do you think will be their points deduction for everything that has gone on, including the tax cases.
-
Whether Charani puts any more money in remains to be seen, but I'm certain he will beable to buy more time come Wednesday on the basis he is a new owner etc etc.

Loyal....******* loyal pes??????????????????????????????????????? I have never seen such dis loyal fans in my life. The empty seats in your stadium , when your club needs you most suggest not. Oh and one week it is "Theres only one peter story" the next match you want his blood. Loyal is not a word that the general football fan associates with pompey.
-
Except when we won some strange award for the loudest song in the Premiership
-
merovingian, I don't want pompey to fold, but the maths just don;'t add up. The level of debt, the infrastructure, the bad press and your current league position, removes all the gloss of "Premiership team" etc. To all intents and purposes you are a championship club, without any facillities (I'm not trying to take the **** by the way) and the investment it would take to make you comparible to some of those clubs who you could go and buy tomorrow for 20 -30, 40 million, just doesnt stack up. For what its worth, I think yesterday was a good day for you, even it was nothing more than buying you time (Which it almost certainly will) but I don't think anybody really knows the end game in all of this

You've got to love their optimisim MattG_PFC Posted on 05/02/2010 10:26 HMRC delay? Email Message To A Friend | Reply To Message I'm sure there won't even be a need for HMRC to pursue the winding up order if Balram Chainrai pays the outstanding amount. I expect this will happen and the case will not even go ahead.

Have to confess to being completely confused by it all, but the reality was that be admin or a new owner or whatever, something had to give before the 10th. Ultimately this will buy them more time and now it's whether they can or can't stay up. The whole mess will be too complex and embarrassing for the PL to investigate and my best guess is that this whole things has been a well orchastrated plot, that may have taken a couple of unexpected twists and turns along the way, from Gadamak Snr and that him and Chainori (Or whatever his name is) are far from the enemys that they portray themselves as. But we shall see, nothing that happens with the blue few could surprise me anymore.

Second hand.... No local adminsitrators have been approached and he thinks others would have heard if they had. Thinks they are going for broke with HMRC and Grosvenor.
