Got excited when I read "Rupert Lowe is searching for someone to succeed him as he looks to step down at Southampton".
A few weeks later and Andrew Cowen is now sat in the driving seat. Great.
It was reported by plenty of sources that Wrights wages were paid by Crouch himself. And I doubt Lucketti, Perry and Pericard amounted to more than £20,000 a week.
You do know that Crouch was only in charge for the second half of the season don't you? During which he sent Rasiak and Skacel out on loan to reduce the wage bill?
I wouldn't be so sure about that, he said himself that on the last few days of the summer transfer window he turned his phone off because he knew there were offers for him, but didn't want to leave.
I hope so. Whilst the experiment at the start of the season was an utter disaster, i'm sure all of us would love to see a team full of home grown players.
It would have made more sense closing the whole Kingsland really, save on stewards and concessions, and it would look slightly better on TV as we would have more people in the three stands visible.
