I think a CB partnership of Cork and Perry would be too short and would not win anything in the air against 6'3'' Burgess.
I would go with the same 11 that started against Derby, with a bench comprising: Bart, Cork, Wotton, and 2 of Thompson/John/Pekhart (depending on how the latter has looked in training).
Perry wins a lot of headers against taller players. It's incredible really how good he is in the air.

I just find it generally faster. Looks nicer too.

As oliver twist said " please sir can i have some more"
Before getting his ass handed to him for the next 500 pages. Poor analogy

Pompey at home - we're all up for it, we would sell out to make a lot of money and with their form we have a chance of winning.
-
Most people weren't boycotting today, they just couldn't be bothered.
I happened to be working. I'd rather make some money which I could spend on an away league game later in the season than just blow it on a league cup game.
-
Ridiculous, didn't even show all the games.
Spent most of the time watching adverts for Champions League/England/FA cup games.

You suggested the SuperAntiSpyware one to me, why didn't you use that?

The Lord Lowe bandwagon rolls on.
Shows how little you actually care about the football side of things that you had to bring Lowe into it.

Personally. I think they should abandon the current format, dissolve the Affiliate Member's Cup too (The Johnstone Paint's trophy) and simply have a 'Coca Cola Football League Cup.' A competition for all clubs outside of the premiership. The bonus being entry into a playoff for Premiership admittence.
The playoff consisting of 3rd through 6th in the league, 17th in the Prem and the 'Football League' Cup winners.
Wouldn't work. You could have a team finishing in the lowest position in the Football League going into the Prem through the play-offs.

I have a ST but i'm not going tonight. I find it hard to get excited about this competition unless we're in the quarters.
Plus i'm working.

Didn't we get over 20k for a game at a similar stage of the competition last year? Anything around 10K would be terrible.
Nope, two years ago the tickets were £5 each V Yeovil and we sold 22,000. Kids were also £1.

14 points. W00T!

To be fair it just shows the amount of 'paper fans' this club once had. When we were in the premiership you could guarantee 30k + for a prem game and about 22k+ for a cup game. If (when) we do get back to the premiership they’ll all come crawling back.

We'll I dont surpose Fletcher did himself any harm, though why he'd join Celtic?
He's Scottish. That's about it.
I actually think he's quite sh*t, but he's proving me wrong so far.
Oh yeah forgot to say - Campbell looks like a serious weak link for you this season. He seems to have lost about half his pace from last season, and he was never a very pacy player to start with.
-
I've copied and pasted the entire article text so that I can look back on it in maybe two or three seasons time and think how far we've come from this starting point. I wonder where we'll be..?
I'm going to guess at 11th in the Prem.

Avram Grant was sat next to Sasha Gaydamak tonight, so you never know!
Also Strachan and his Missus was sat just in front of me tonight, wonder who he was looking at? Does he still keep a house in Warsash?
Darren Fletcher is the one he was looking at, I think.

2007 remains my favourite FM game tbh.

Seriously, how has this thread not been locked? Full of pointless sh*te and over the top insults.

Thank you!
I thought it was a good one.
Also, what about Glasgow?!!
Scotland = different place to England.
-
Nice to hear a couple of anti-saints songs today as well - "ello, ello, we are the pompey boys" etc.
Obviously, despite what Corp would have us believe, they do still care.
-
Bit early to call that after 3 league games I think!
That's why I was saying if he stays fit. Just him playing is the biggest achievement we'll see this season, IMO.
-
Got a link through to these?
Can't be bothered to look, I read them in the actual paper.

How Gillett has gone unnoticed for all this time is amazing - although it could be a blessing he has, otherwise he would have been on of the "saleable assets".
Player of the Season has the potential to be very tight this year, although I know that (if he stays fit) my vote will be going to Michael Svensson.

Excellent, is this going to be a regular thread? I hope so.
