Ben Brereton Diaz is…. Quality out wide now is he ?
In the Championship, he is. Not in the Premier League.

Yes, you said, "We also clearly need someone with quality out wide". I then listed multiple players we currently have who are quality at Championship level out wide.

Although out of depth in the Premier League, Brereton Diaz, Armstrong, Edozie, Fraser, Robinson & Dibling is an extremely strong line-up of wide players for the Championship.

Anyone know when it's announced? This is the most exciting bit of pre season so far.
In past seasons, the club have announced the names in training camp squads on the day of departure.

Not sure if true
Translates as
🔴 Armand #Laurentie to #Southampton. From the transfer of the Frenchman to #SaintsFC, #Sassuolo pockets 20M + 10% on future resale. The signing in the coming hours.
Random X accounts with 459 followers are more likely to be bullshitting than not.

- CB: Stephens, Wood, Edwards, THB, Kayi Sanda, Quarshie, Bednarek, Bella-Kotchap, Lawrence
Kayi Sanda, Quarshie and Sesay may return to the U21s or U18s, while Nico Lawrence and Ollie Wright will probably either be sold or loaned out.
I'd be amazed if Quarshie in particluar didn't go on tour and was in the u21 team. That would be a step back in his development. He was regularly playing in 2.Bundesliga last season. Kayi Sanda also needs more than u21 level football now to develop.
Ollie Wright has already left on loan. He left on 9th July to join League 2 Accrington...

Fragment: This is a sentence fragment—it lacks a subject and a verb. Grammatically complete sentences usually need both.
-
Tone: It’s informal and could come off as sarcastic or mocking, which may or may not be your intention.
"Usually", not always!
It was my intention to be informal and to use that tone.

Easy to see who skipped English at school on this forum.

either as opposed to both
In negative sentences, "either" distributes over both items, so "don't lose either" means "lose neither" — i.e., both players stay. This follows from De Morgan's Laws and how negative polarity items work in the English language.

Bednarek and Stephens both very much in the Che Adams mould of players I just want to never have to watch again.
If we don't lose either this summer, I will be very cross indeed.
He signed a new 3 year contract this month. He isn't leaving this summer. So you can start being very cross now.

As usual he miscalculates how quickly he'll be closed down - predictably sloppy.
I wonder if he struggles at roundabouts

I liked the cheat about a year who that let any club sign any player for £1.6m if I remember rightly.
then it was removed in an update
Software can have bugs, that are then corrected. They aren't intentional. The correction is to realign it with simulating reality.

Given the uncertainty over many players who may leave, there is mountains to do within the club. Continue identifying targets, analysis and research into them, find out which players might be interested in joining, speak with agents to see if it financially fits, enquire to clubs to see if they may sell, convince players to wait for us. Internally they will be doing shit loads right now. We probably have the highest risk in the league for number of departures, so I’d suggest our recruitment folk are under a ton of pressure (remember they also do 3x the work to bring in players for the other SR teams). Replacing players isn’t like in FM, its a big process and overhead. And we all know most transfers hit in the last week/days of the window. We’re going to struggle to replace 5, 6, 7 players in the last few days and get anyone decent.
Or we could just panic like Ras did with Onuachu, Sulemana, the Croatian lad and someone else if I remember right. None of them were scouted and Ras pissed off a lot of people within the club by going off by himself and its had a long impact on the club.FM is a simulation of the football world. It has input from numerous professionals within high levels of the sport so it reflects how the sport works. To be dismissive of it, is naive.

Firstly you don't know we haven't had bids and secondly that's an irrelevance surely. There could be bids for them all tomorrow. Correct me if wrong but most of our best players went in August last time.
Read it in context of the post I was originally replying to, where he said... "there's absolute mountains still to be done" as "our current best team you'd imagine about half of them would still be off".
Until the club know for certain they are leaving, they do not need to replace them.

I'd be surprised if most of
Ramsdale
Fernandes
THB
Bednarek
Weren't off. Possibly Dibling as well who seemed like the most likely to leave at one point. Most of them would be likely starters for me.
1 minute ago, Saint86 said:Good point MLG, its far more than 5-6 of our best 11 that could be on the way out... Ramsdale, THB, Bednarek, Fernandes, Edozie, Aribo, Dibling, Armstrong have all been linked with exits.
No bids for them = don't need to replace.

Three weeks to go and feels like there's absolute mountains still to be done.
Of our current "best team" you'd imagine about half of them would still be off.
Which 5 or 6 of our best XI would that be? No signs so far of anything imminent. No bids for them = don't need to replace.
