Football data scientists... use data, computers and maths. He has a masters in physics. A past as a software engineer is very relevant.

He isn’t fresh out of school. He is a 27 year old with a masters degree in physics at a good Uni. He has 3 years experience in top level football in an analyst role and another 3 years experience as a software engineer for a major football software company. Given his role at Saints, all very relevant.

Video scouts are often very young, it is a foot in the door role at clubs. He is in his early 20s and already has experience at a very progressive club in non league.
