  1. Fernandes? Ramsdale?
  2. To be fair, he is only the assistant. If Rusk chooses to ignore Lallana's ideas that isn't on Lallana.
  3. Kinda is, to be fair! 😁
  4. Try reading what I said! I did not say they would be a success! Nor did I say they wouldn't!
  5. Try reading what I said! I did not say they would be a success! Nor did I say they wouldn't!
  6. The new recruitment set-up hasn't had a chance to have an impact yet. I'm not saying they will turn it around, but lets see what they can do before dismissing them on the actions of others.
  7. Income impacts wage and transfer budget. So you should care as it impacts our ability to have a strong squad. The longer you stay down the harder it becomes!
  8. What specifically did I say that was 'barking'? We are completely out of depth in the PL, Leicester are better than us. But none of that means other Championship clubs (bar Ipswich) next season will be better than us.
  9. Finishing 7th is disastrous for the club. The longer we stay in the Championship, the harder it is to get out of it. Income drops off significantly each season you don't go up, especially if we aren't promoted after the 2nd season.
  10. They are currently better than us this season and last season. But that doesn't mean other Championship teams that are not Leicester are better than us.
  11. What exactly about those sentences is 'barking mad' and why?
  12. How does finishing 7th achieve that?
  13. This match doesn't show otherwise. Leicester were comfortably the best side last season in the Championship. Both teams are shit in the Premier League and very good in the Championship. Leicester being slightly less shit in the PL and us being less good in the Championship.
  14. AS Roma don't sign experienced international 1st team players that aren't good enough to be playing at the very top of the Championship regardless of any difference in pace between Serie A and the PL. They are one of the best teams in one of the strongest leagues in world football. Currently 6th and in a European place.
  15. Alternatively... Johannes Spors has worked with some of the new people before and has first hand experience of what they can bring to the recruitment department. Less of a risk for him if he already trusts them to do a good job. Managers often bring their own assistants and coaches with them from club to club, so to do sporting directors sometimes.
  16. Why have you jumped to that conclusion? It makes sense to have staff in both 1st team and academy recruitment roles.
  17. Delayed until 2026 πŸ˜”
  18. Why do you think AS Roma made a bid for him?
  19. Would you prefer them to stick with the old recruitment setup? The one that failed badly.
  20. Promoting Andy Goldie from Southampton's academy director to 'director of group talent strategy' goes against the idea the group of three Sport Republic clubs is going to be broken up.
  21. Recruitment overhaul...
  22. You are being generous to call the journalists! πŸ˜‰
  23. Bullshit. If a club wants a specific style (e.g., possession-based, high pressing, counter-attacking), it often looks to hire a manager who has a proven record of delivering that style. Hiring a manager without considering their tactical identity creates a disconnect, you can’t expect a defensive-minded manager to produce attacking, free-flowing football just because the board says so. Therefore, choosing a manager is a recruitment decision and a strategic football decision rolled into one. They are intertwined and it is not unreasonable to use a shorthand of recruitment as an overarching description.
  24. They are intertwined and can't have one without impacting the other. It is a recruitment strategy that led us to MartinBall.
  25. It is a strategic recruitment decision. They are intertwined.
