Even in this sanatised version you can see the frusration and the pressure of being a manager under Rupert Lowe. quote.. A lot of ons in there! Now whatever we think about Redknapp and/or Basset, they are very experienced with dealing with chairman. You can feel their frustration, it is tangible in that quote. The pressure from both Rupert and Clive was obviously intended to influence selections. A lesser experienced manager could well buckle under that sort of pressure. We now have a 'lesser experienced manager'.

Just to put the record straight, as I was one of those that heard the original broadcast... I was asked my opinion of the Echo article on another site,and whether anything was missing? I replied thus.. At first glance it seems as if somethings are missing, and/or are in a different chronological order. One or two things that are attributed to Kelly, were actually said by Basset. I see no reference to the week in, week out phrase that WAS USED! In the transcipt the reference to Woodward and Clifford is missing (Rupert got two of his buddies in from non league and another sport bit) Yet he feels the need to defend that in the prelude, which is strange. But hey, it looks like Basset and Talksport have come under some pressure, so maybe it got to someone. Not exactly a retraction though! LATER I ADDED.. I have just noticed the bit about previous managers advising him not apply for the job is missing as well. At no time was it suggested that Lowe did pick the team, but the question of him interfering, or trying to interfere in the make up of the team is still very much there, even with 48 hours to edit it.

Despite what we perceive of Redknapp and Basset, they are very experienced street wise managers, quite able to resist Lowe's pressure. But can we say the same for the present coach? How much pressure does he get, and is he in a position to resist it? Was going 'totally youth' forced on this club by financial reasons this season? Basset's words need to be answered by Lowe. Makes you wonder why all those non disclosure clauses were thought a necessity by Lowe :rolleyes:to every departing manager. Would also explain why Nigel Pearson had no chance of getting the job.

Time we all thought of completly boycotting the club under its present guise. Give them the support they earned, and under no circumstances recognise them as Southampton FC. This is the worse bunch of no hopers I've ever seen masquerading as Southampton. That is not only the players, but directors, staff, and managership, as well as their bossman Rupert Lowe. Masquerading? yes maquer-*******-rading. This not the club I support, not the club that fought its way through to the top table progressively under the guidance of Ted Bates,and Laurie Mac, not the team that gave us all those players like Paine, Sydenham, Chivers, Channon, Ron Davies, Le Tiss , Shearer, and others too numerous to mention. Not the club the whole city got behind, not the club that pushed Liverpool so close to championship, and beat United at Wembley in 76. THIS IS LOWE FC..and I don't give a ****e about that club..it stole our club league status just as much as Milton Keynes stole the Dons. Lets hope that LOWE FC get relegated go into admin, anything, as long as it fooks off along with that cherry faced thief that leads them. The sooner they do, the sooner we may get our club back, and try repair the damage done to it. Support LOWE FC..NEVER I'm a Saints fan. And no true Saints fan would give this bunch anymore support until they get out. BOYCOTT ALL THAT REPRESENTS LOWE FC
