Superb does that then make me the leader by default :-) Frankie
-
Right i'm gonna get it going then .... provisionally of course Sunday 11th July Southwell 4.50 Treasury Counsel - 10 points win Frankie
-
Sounds reasonable mate, although to make it easier to work out we could limit this challenge to one bet / selection a day and you can have 5 points e/w or 10 points win, with a new thread started monthly......other tips can of course go on the usual thread, this is just for the challenge... Frankie
-
The thread is ready and waiting for your input Chris Frankie
-
Welcome to the Saintsweb Forum Tipping Challenge Thread.. More details to appear later (when Chris can be bothered to think of some rule :-) )
-
This seriously looks like a challenge you are laying down here Chris. If its a challenge you want, what do you say about having a tipping competition, start a new thread, we choose one horse (a nap) each day on that thread and see how we get on......the only rule being that the horse has to have an sp of over 2/1... Let the challenge and banter begin (and the possible ridicule from others) Frankie

He He sorry Chris what I meant was that it was such a poor race, and despite Stellite being 10 years old and never having won at the distance he was still a good price considering the poor opposition and the form of the goldie yard ] I have even laid to rest the voodoo of tipxchange, posted them yesterday for the first time in ages and showing a nice little profit, so onwards and upwards I say. As I stated yesterday its 3 summer jumping cards today, seems strange on a Sunday but still racing for change and all that Starting at Perth, it seems crazy to oppose Gordon Elliott, his string are firing at the moment, he is the top trainer here and although his horses wont be great prices he runs 5 here with great chances and you could do much worse than stick them in multiples, one of the races that does not feature an Elliot horse is: 4.10 I like the look of Island Flyer, Trainer Tom George has brought him on a 784 mile round trip for this race and it is his only runner, there are a couple of negatives, his recent rules form hasnt been great (been running well in points) and he hasnt run on ground this fast before so may not run, if he does I think he could be good value. Stratford 2.00 whenwehadmoney (Now a non runner, the weight of my money must have scared the trainer) and Quidam Blue look good value against the likely market leaders, both trainers are in good form, Whenwehadmoney looked to be going the right way on his last run and has a nice low weight, Quidam Blue hasnt been making great shakes in NH flat races but now stuck over jumps there could be imrovement, and at the price it is worth a few quid to see. 3.00 With the favourite dropping back in trip and being a little inconsistent it may pay to side with Wheelavit, he is in great form, loves this ground and has won over course and distance, he is on a career high mark but can defy that today. 4.00 Wont be having a massive bet here, but two to keep an eye on are Argyll for Jeff Pearce and Ariel Bender for Donald McCain, both are making there jumping debuts, but the most interesting thing is despite running for shrewd jumping yards they have both been running over sprint distances on the flat, so at huge odds on Betfair I will chance a couple of pound on each and watch how they run with interest (probably awful) 4.30 Cloonavery remains a maiden, but has some good placed form including finishing second in this race last year, he has a nice low weight and his trainer is in good form, lets hope he can register his first jumps win today. Southwell 2.20 A tricky little opener, but I am going to chance my arm with Tropical Bachelor, he has shown much improved form on the flat of late, and if he can transfer that to jumping he would have a great chance. 2.50 Basically a two runner race and it is with Flying Doctor that I have to side, he has had a great season and owes connections nothing, he has a similar profile to The Ferbane Man but hopefully can come out on top in an intriguing battle. 4.20 A cracking little race with a case to be made for most runners, the one I side with is Restart, he has been rejuvenated in his last two runs winning twice over this course and distance, while horse are in such good form they pay to be followed, hopefully he can complete his hattrick of course wins here today. So thats it a good days racing, all on At the Races too, so if your fed up with the sun, get a few quid on the horses, curl up on the settee and hopefully win a few quid. Frankie

Not a bad night, Kuanyo won at 4/1 Haajes was well backed and obliged at 3/1 and even Chris O managed to open his account for the day with Stellite winning at 13/2 (A great prcie considering Goldie is in such good form) my evening would have been even better but for 2 seconds in Higgy's Ragazza and Frances Stuart. 3 meetings tomorrow all summer jumping meets, a few of interest though and will post those tomorrow Frankie

An ok day in all, great tip from Bungle, his single selection Premio Loco won nicely at Ascot at 4/1, I managed to tip Waveband at 12/1, apart from that everything else I tipped at Ascot ran poorly, elsewhere I had Capponi who was well backed and won at 3/1, Frank Street at Nottingham was my only selection and obliged at 100/30 (went to 100/1 in running on BF) but the most gutting results came at Chester where I tipped Captain Dunne and Simonside but both were beaten by a short head and a head. On to this evening Salisbury looks a nice card and I fancy a few there. Salisbury 6.15 Goodwood Treasure 6.45 Kuanyao 7.20 Sir Rocky 8.25 Higgy's Ragazzo 8.55 Frances Stuart. Hamilton 7.00 Haajes Take care all, have a good Saturday night whatever you may be doing. Frankie

York looks a really tricky card and as with always on a Saturday stakes will be at a minimum unless otherwise noted. York. 2.00 Cornus is in brilliant form he beat Red Cape easily last time out, he has been raised 6 pounds for that win, but with Declan Cannon back on board claiming five pounds that rise is significantly less and I take him to continue his good winning form. 2.30 Day of the Eagle was badly hampered last time out before finishing down the field, he will want to bounce back to form but Luca Cumani is in a bit of a bleak run at the moment, Webbow I am sure will run his usual consistent / game race and finished runner up in this last year, but I think he may be vulnerable to an improver, Mark Johnston has been mopping up this one mile races recently and he has an interesting runner in Capponi, despite a lack of experience he beat some useful types recently, he is well bred and open to further improvement. 3.05 I hate to go for favourites in these big handicaps but Imposing screams off the page at me, he is a typical Stoute type, he was unlucky last time out and should have won, he won over course and distance previously on his seasonal debut, Stoutes horses normally need a couple of runs before they are fully wound up, if that is the case he should win this before going on to better things. 3.40 I fancy Deauville Flyer to take this but will probably wait and see what prices are available. Thats the TV races sorted as for the others 4.15 Nicolas Dream 5.25 Bachelor Knight...but again will wait and see the price nearer the race. Nottingham 4.20 Frank Street Chester. 3.20 Captain Dunne 3.55 Simonside Good luck Frankie

I see Chris has given his selections here are my thoughts for what they are worth mate....enjoy your day. 1.45 Man of Action looks to be an improving sort and has done nothing wrong, but will be a short price, you could do a lot worse than back Mark Johnstons pair, he has a brilliant record at Ascot, Greyfriarschorista has been tried in the best races this year and despite flopping on his last run there were excuses (he missed the break being one) he also saddles Rule Breaker who dotted up in his maiden win then flopped at Chester, many horses struggle at that track, and at a big price could be worth a punt too. Selections: Greyfriarschorista and Rule Breaker 2.20 A tricky little race, but a few of these are exposed or may have run their best races already, of those that havent I feel Capaill Liath could continue on the upgrade, he won his last start readily and could win this with Rojo Boy remaining a maiden and chasing him home. Selection: Capaill Liath 2.50 A couple of fancied non runners make this a little easier to work out, but apart from the pace maker a case can be made for every runner, Jeremy Nosedas horses are in good form, Forgotten Voice has run below the level he showed last year, but his last run looks fair form and hints at a return to form, he finished behing Invisible Man and that form is stacking up well now with a fair few winners coming from that, so it's a tentative tip for Forgotten Voice. Selection: Forgotten Voice 3.30 Favorites have a good record in this race and the likely favourite Dubai bounty looks to have a great chance, he chased home Berling on his latest start, and that horse has franked the form since then, he is also lighlty raced and improvement should be expected. Selection:Dubai Bounty 4.05 As Chris said Sarasota Sunshine will be an odds on favourite here, so it may be best to look each way for something else, and to be fair Perfect Friend who finished close to Sarasota Sunshine hasn't exactly franked the form so a surprise may be in store, Faithful One is consistent and should again run well, but Waveband showed some good form as a two year old, she looked as if returning to form last time out and if pinging out in front here she may make the favourite work and possibly keep her head in front. Selection:Waveband 4.40 Archers Road looked better than ever having his first run for Barron, winning on less than perfect ground (his previous best runs / wins had been on firm / good ground) he has only been raised a pound for that win and you would think he would have come on for that...come on you Archers. Selection:Archers Road 5.15 The lucky last, if you have any money left by this time, it may be worth putting it on Rapid Water, he looked unlucky last time out and having won at this course and at this distance he should run well for Andrew Balding Selection:Rapid Water Good luck and have fun Frankie

My only decent selection away from Newmarket today was Red Somerset, which was a non runner :-) This evening looks fun so here are some selections. Chester 6.40 Feeling Fresh 7.10 Hoof It 7.45 Layla's Lexi 8.15 Malpas Missile 9.20 Kind Heart Chepstow 6.30 Robbmaa 7.35 Abraham Lincoln 8.05 Sailorman Newbury 6.50 Spiritual Art 7.25 Compton Blue 7.55 Bendigedig 8.30 Red Twist 9.00 Falling Angel... Not sure but think the sun might be getting to me with some of those selections. Frankie

Top tipping by Chris O who had Sea Lord at 13/2 also mentioned by Bungle, and Times Up (Chris even had the forecast here) at 9/1, I waded in with a token winner King Torus at 7/2, so all in all on a tricky day, some good tipping. Frankie

Fridays selections on a good days racing. York 2.45 Swiss Diva 3.20 Fishforcompliments 5.05 Highland Warrior Ascot 3.00 Desert Recluse 4.45 Red Somerset Lets hope for a Friday full of winners Frankie

Paaahh!!! bloody wins as well. Frankie

Looking at some of the prices that have been coming in, you can see it is not easy to pick winners at Newmarket this week, but a couple were found yesterday, both Chris O and I agreed on Corsica and it obliged after being well backed so that foils Chris' idea that I am a jinx, Notnowcato managed to find Astrophysical Jet which was a great find. Fridays card looks probably the hardest yet, so good luck all 1.30 Andrew Balding has been in decent form at this meeting and he has a great chance with the handicap debutante Highland Knight, he has improved with every run and looked good beating subsequent winner Zakey by 4 1/2 lengths. 2.00 Formosina looks useful and should improve even more with this step up in trip, this also applies to Klammer though...but it is hard to ignore Richard Hannon and his horse King Torus won well on debut then finished a good fourth over this trip despite hanging, so I think King Torus can be king here. 2.35 almost impossible to fathom out so I am going for course and distance winner Captain Brilliance and a little each way on Spirit of Sharjah 3.10 This race is likely to be dominated by Starspangledbanner and Fleeting Spirit betting wise, but that means we can get some value on the other runners, I am going for two that I have tipped before and have run very well, only having to run to a similar level to figure here and they are Kinsale King and Society rock 4.55 Speed Dating to take the lucky last for me. Good luck all Frankie
-
Two winners today at 13/8 and 11/4 so not brilliant but a winners a winner, here are tonights to look at. Epsom 7.55 My Gacho 8.30 Kaleo Doncaster 7.10 Top Care 9.20 Frognal Take care all Frankie
-
Suited and Booted 9/1 and Lutine Bell 7/2 for my only Lingfield bet meant not a bad day.....sticking mainly to Newmarket today (selections an write up on other forum) but a few selections away from there Warwick 2.55 Battlemaiden 4.40 Arteus 5.15 Jigajig Folkestone 3.20 Avrilo 3.55 Brad's Luck Good luck Frankie

Cracking work Chris with Memory (nice little horse that) and Music Show, I quietly fancied that, but keeping up my not backing any Channon horses run at the moment...I came away with one winner Suited and Booted at 9/1, so all in all not a bad first day. Thursdays Selections 1.30 Harris Tweed looks an improving sort but he will have to be in top form to beat Corsica, he ran a cracker two runs back with a massive weight, then was tried over a trip too far, now back at a better distance he has a massive chance. 2.00 A tricky little race and one not to get heavily involved in, but it may be worth having a few quid on Marston Moor first time out, he is nicely bred, the trip should be fine and they must think a bit of him to sling him into this company first time. 2.35 A cracking race with a case able to be made for almost all of the runners, the favourite has a poor record in this race, so for I like the look of Point Out, he has only run three times and looked very useful when winning his maiden last time out, this longer trip should bring about even more improvement. 3.10 Holberg looks to have all the answers here, he was impressive for Mark Johnston last year and looked to have improved again on his first start for Godolphin, Spanish Moon can be temperamental so I think Man of Iron will follow him home. 3.45 Major Dude in a small field should improve on his debut win and follow up here for the all conquering Hannon yard. 4.20 Back over a mile and down in grade Fair Trade can take this tricky contest, he looked useful when winning on his seasonal bow, then ran ok in the Guineas before finding trouble in running and being lightly ridden last time out. 4.55 Crimea has steadily improved with each run this season, despite being upped in class here, the nature of his last win in a claimer means he looks in good heart and could figure at the finish here. Good luck all Frankie

Newmarket 1.30 Chica Whopa 2.00 Kellys Eye 2.35 Hooray 3.10 Special Duty 5.30 Suited and Booted Frankie

Newmarket 1.30 Chica Whopa 2.00 Kellys Eye 2.35 Hooray 3.10 Special Duty 5.30 Suited and Booted Lingfield 3.30 Lutine Bell Nothing of note at Catterick so that is it for the day, bound to be a few in the evening, if I can squeeze them in between work and training. Tuesday doesnt look to be any great shakes, but a couple of horses with reasonable chances are: Pontefract: 4.00 Flora Trevelyan will be a skinny price, but was extremely impressive last time out, she walked all over Ithinkbest, Dunn'o and Invisible Man, who have come out and franked the form since. Flora is still lightly raced and could still improve. Thats it for Ponte i'm afraid Wolverhampton / Dunstall Park. 2.15 In a race full of exposed types I go for handicap debutante Lucas Pitt, he comes here on a low mark and his form behind Sir Frank Wappat looks decent. 3.15 Bivouac rattled up a hattrick before disappointing when trying for a fourth win, that race may have come too soon, after a break he should show better form and take a hand here. 5.15 It is hard to assess the form of Home Sweet Home, who is having his first run here after being bought over from Hungary, H Dunlop has good form at this track and looking at the early market he is at least expected to give a good run. Thats it for daytime selections, the evening looks even less encouraging, but you never know I might try and go through the card again :-) Frankie
-
Well I should be bored on a Monday evening and try to go through the card more often, not just because I had a fair few winners, but barring Aldwick Bay which was well backed then tenderly ridden again, every horse gave me a run for my money...so briefly Windsor 6.40 Piazza San Pietro - won 7/2 7.10 Aldwick Bay - nowhere but one to watch 7.40 Desert Poppy - Won 6/1 8.10 Abergevanny - Won 8/1 !!!! 8.40 Bernies Moon - Rubbish sorry got this mixed up with another horse when watching the race. 9.10 Cereal Killer - Ran well to finish fourth at 12/1 Ripon 6.50 Market Puzzle - Won 11/2 7.20 Mother Jones - 3rd 6/1 7.50 Mister Angry - hacked up (won) at 5/4 8.20 Nubar Boy - 2nd 10/1 a much improved effort today, visor made a difference. 8.50 Polish World - 3rd 2/1 Blasted out of the stalls and maybe went too hard early on, or handicapper may have in grip now. 9.20 Bursary - 2nd 11/4 Ran a nice race, looks one to keep an eye on. So a return to form for Frankie on a dire Monday evening :-) Frankie
