  1. ''Tell me why i dont like Mondays'' A few tips all terrible today....i'm bored so for this evenings rubbish i'm going small wagers and attempting to go right through the card :-) Should be fun. 6.40 Had a bit of a headache as I fancied C'mon You Irons...now he's a non runner so the extremely consistent Piazza San Pietro is my selection for the in form Haynes stable. 7.10 Wide open maiden stakes, mad to have a bet in this so i'm going for Aldwick Bay, who finished in the mid field on his debut but wasnt bashed about too much and will hopefully improve. 7.40 Desert Poppy may be better in future runs, but at the price I have to chance that he will be fit and ready to reproduce his form of last year. 8.10 I expected Abergavenny to be favourite on his handicap debut, he is not so is my selection, plus I went there on holiday when I was younger. 8.40 A couple of big priced outsiders catch the eye and may well sneak a win if the main protaganists do not run as expected....Bernie's Moon is improving with every run and his experience could be invaluable (plus Bernie is my brothers name) and Spirit of Darley for the in-form Clive Brittain yard was just 7/2 on its last run so must be well thought of, hopefully she can show a bit more ability here. 9.10 The lucky last selection goes with Cereal Killer, his form is in and out but if in form he could feature at the business end. Ripon 6.50 An awful race and difficult to work out which horse is less rubbish than the others....using powers of deduction and a special pointy pen i've gone for Market Puzzle, because it's a puzzle trying to fathom out this race. 7.20 Mother Jones has the form figures 66 and ran 66 days ago...surely a sign of the devil at work and a definite back for me, in fact I might lump my bank on it..... 7.50 Mr Angry has the necessary form, trainer and jockey to take this race, one of the better races in that all four runners have a chance, but Mr Angry looks on a nice mark. 8.20 I often follow horses that have the 3 day rule, this is a horse that ran 3 days ago and then comes out again, Nubar Boy fits this profile, he hasnt really shown too much form since joining Evans but was keen last time out and hopefully the visor can bring about some improvement in an open race. 8.50 Polish world keeps defying the handicapper and his opponents, he looks to be up against it here but must be backed until the handicapper has him in his grip, hopefully that won't be yet. 9.20 Godolphin should win this but Bursary for Mark Johnston could take advantage of any weaknesses in the fav. Right there we go, through the cards on a pretty dire evenings racing :-) Frankie
  2. Nice to see **** Turpin get a well deserved win in France...other than that a couple of seconds made it another frustrating day... Some cracking racing at the end of the week to look forward to, as for Monday usual fare..here are a few selections and hopes that the seconds become firsts Bath 2.30 Frankish Dynasty 5.00 Compton Way Newton Abbot 2.45 Openditch 3.45 Winchester Red 4.15 Zafar 5.15 Watergate Frankie
  3. A couple of winners at 8/1-Sir Frank Wappat and 11/2 Virginia Hall so not too bad.. Fancy a few today Brighton 2.30 Cinq Heavens 3.30 Red Yarn 4.30 Super Frank (NAP) Ayr 2.40 Barnstorm 3.10 Wrongwayround 3.40 Loveinthesand 5.10 Misterisland Market Rasen 2.50 Moscow Oznic 3.20 Benmadigan 3.50 Thelobstercatcher 5.40 The Randy Bishop Limerick 4.15 Warcraft Chantilly 1.35 Dream Catcher 2.42 **** Turpin Have a great day all. Frankie
  4. Great selection this Chris well done mate Frankie
  5. Really frustrating day yesterday with a lot of second place horses at nice prices..Milton of Campsie beaten a head at 16/1 possibly the most frustrating...not been a great week compared to recent standards so hoping for a turn around of fortunes today with some quality racing. Bungle is on fire at the moment and should be followed whatever he tips today :-) Crossing the water for a few beers with friends today...looking forward to meeting up and talking about the new season...although the lack of anything happening transfer wise limits things a bit. Sandown 2.00 Bould Mover 2.35 Charlie Cool 3.10 Zacinto 3.40 Virginia Hall 4.50 Mass Rally 5.25 Lovers Causeway Haydock 2.15 Berling should whoop the opposition but not a price to back for me i'm afraid 2.50 Grace O' Malley 3.25 Submariner....Spirit is Needed (E/W) 4.00 Livin it Large 4.35 Captain Dunne 5.10 Haajes 5.45 Sir Frank Wappat Leicester 1.55 Posy Fossil 3.35 Redden Carlisle 6.55 Frognal 8.25 Mr Rainbow Take care all, have fun whatever you may be doing today Frankie
  6. Just one winner, Bachelor Knight, but happy with that as finding winners is blimmin at hard at the moment. As for Friday, have our school summer fayre tonight, I will be drinking beer and supplying the music and running commentary, then down town for beers so I will endeavour to pick my selections for day and night. Doncaster 2.00 Plush doesnt have much form on grass, but in a weak contest and at a nice price he is worth a punt 2.30 Tim Easterby won this race last year and can take it again here, with a small field and not a massive amount of ability on show, Bollin Judith can make this a true test of stamina having won over 1mile 6 and stretch his opponents. 3.00 Indochina must have a chance on his handicap debut, both Ghufa and Sparkling smile are in great form, but have to concede alot of weight to this horse on his seasonal debut, fitness should not be a problem as Mark Johnston is a master at getting his horses ready. 5.15 Milton of Campsie has run well this year without managing to get his head in front, he was hampered twice on his last run, if he can regain the form of his second from two runs ago, he would have a great chance here. Sandown 4.00 Confront hasnt reached the heights of last year just yet, but he deserves another chance, his last run behind Paco Boy doesnt look too bad and after a short break and a trip he should relish a return to winning form is not impossible. 5.05 Swinging Hawk.....no more details i'm afraid, off to bed in a minute. Warwick 4.55 Oh Two Haydock 6.40 Yourlikemefrank 8.15 high Ransom Beverley 7.25 Mighty Clarets 7.55 Saint Thomas 9.00 Soto Take care all Frankie
  7. Kuanyo did the job for me and Notnowcato (Sorry Bungle...so I take this back), so dispells Chris O's myth that he is the kiss of death.... On to this evenings selections Epsom 7.25 Abraham Lincoln (Billy Red E/W) 7.55 My Learned Friend 8.30 Ginger Grey Newbury 9.10 Fine Sight And I will have a double on 7.35 Dafeef and 8.10 Sarasota Sunshine. Redcar 7.45 Bachelor Knight 8.20 Durham Express 9.20 Kathlatino. Thats my lot, have a good evening Frankie
  8. shame you're not then mate :-), I had a few quid on it for you mate, hate to see a good tip go to waste. Frankie
  9. As you said Chris, an awful days racing with some awful results for us....onwards and upwards though..my hamstrings are still intact after 2 hours training and my mind is clear to select some good hosses. Need a bath though so just selections... Haydock 3.30 Rumool 5.00 Just Rob Yarmouth 3.10 Kuanyao 4.40 Saviour Sand Perth 2.50 Birnies Boy 4.20 Quito De Tresor Not too many fancies and I am not wholly convinced in these either, evening looks better.. Take care all, keep enjoying the sun...i'm off to soak my aching body Frankie
  10. Why's that mate, if you don't mind me asking. Frankie
  11. Well I can't believe it but pulling on me old football boots and going football training tomorrow night with a local team....think i'm going through a bit of a crisis, weems a bit extreme at 38 but still, might be able to get rid of some of my cider belly....that also means I will be posting both daytime and evening selections now...not the best thing to do, especially as the liquidity on Betfair is so rubbish this early, plus market moves cannot be monitored...but still, i'm gonna be a devil. Perth 2.20 so tempted to do Lambertstown Lad but feel fav will win this and money will be wasted. 3.30 The extremely busy and consistent Flying Doctor trounced his rivals over the big obstacles last time out and will take all the beating here. That's it for Perth, alot of Irish trainers with runners so I am sure the market will be a good guide, so almost impossible to fathom races at this time...the only other runner I really fancy is the massively improving Beidh Tine Anseo, he has won his last 3 nicely, including over this course and distance, he is still lightly raced and if kept standing will have a great chance. Catterick 3.30 Ryedane has completed a hat-trick in recent weeks and goes for a four timer here, he looks ahead of the handicapper and Easterby remains in superb form. 4.30 Frognal has been well punted in each of his runs this year without managing to get his head in front, punters will be looking to get a return and today looks a good a day as any, he has slipped to a very low mark and this extra furlong should help as he was staying on over 6 last time out. Worcester 2.40 Marblehead is a horse I like to follow in hunter chases, he is a useful horse over the point to point fences and will surely improve now moved to Nigel Twiston Davis' yeard. 3.10 Uffa Fox was once very well regarded, unfortunately he has struggled lately, but is still lightly raced, has slipped to a very favourable handicap mark and has the blinkers applied, if they can rekindle his love for the game he can hopefully win for his small stable. 5.10 Alot of inconsistent types in this race so I go for a bit of a wildcard selection, Sula's Legend was in good form last year, and even won over this course, he struggled after a long break last time out and should hopefully strip fitter, the cheekpieces will also hopefully help. Here are the evening selections. Kempton 6.20 Boogie Waltzer 8.20 Bea Menace 8.50 Highland Legacy Chepstow 7.10 The Name is Frank 8.10 Cheam Forever 8.40 Recalcitrant So there we have it, not gone too mad with the selections, hopefully I can come home to a few winners, and dont strain too many muscles / tendons. Frankie
  12. Hmm not a bad night, Lizzie was backed and won nicely, I managed to have a fiver at 13.5 on Betfair, the others ran ok without winning, I was bored with footy so decided to do a couple of bets... 17. Not a bad days racing today, but of course we have the big England game, so i'm off down the pub in a minute for a few ciders and hopefully an England win...placed a few bets on the game... England V Germany bets Defoe first goalscorer 13/2 £5.00 England 1-0 11/2 £5.00 Defoe first Goal England to win 1-0 28/1 £5.00 Man of the match - England goalkeeper 20/1 £5.00 As for the horses I have a feeling I might get a few winners today, the Curragh looks the best card today with the Irish Derby taking place...just selections. Salisbury 2.30 Auld Burns 3.35 Satwa Gold 4.10 Avonmore Star 4.45 Sir Walter Raleigh Windsor 2.20 Al joza 2.50 Picnic Party 4.35 Play it Sam Uttoxeter 2.10 Benedict Spirit 2.30 Minella Four Star 3.45 Quaddick Lake 4.55 Yellow Flag (Nap) 5.30 Cool Bob Curragh 2.15 Arctic 3.15 Samuel Morse 3.50 Flipando 5.10 Co-Ordinated Cut 5.50 Vivacious Vivienne Good luck all, come on England and come on Frankies selections Frankie
  18. My first losing day in ages happens when Chris O comes back on the forum..surely a coincidence? :-) To be honest I picked a few winners today but changed my mind...a cardinal sin...I also will not be backing any more Mick Channon horses in the future, too hard to catch right. Night all Frankie
  19. Dr Green and Jonny Mudball win nicely for Chris, as for my selections the less said the better, lets hope my evening selections continue to do the business. Posting my selections early as Djing for a charity event tonight, Caribbean Beach Party theme so Hawaiian shirt ready. Doncaster. 6.40 Cuban Quality 7.10 Manic 7.45 Tubby Isaacs 8.15 Flaneur 8.50 Strictly Lambada.....just for you Chris 9.20 Stevie Gee Lingfield 6.20 Avrilo 6.50 Progress 7.25 Becks Bolero 7.55 Baralaka 8.25 Red Amy Have a good evening all (Chris) Frankie
  20. Just had a look at that race, agree with you on Stoutes horse, but his often need the run...the biggest danger could be Gosdens second string Strictly Lambada. Frankie
  21. Great to have you back Chris O, those trends are interesting but my selection will probably try to buck the trend..as for Doncaster, of all the races why choose the 8.50 !!!! looks almost impossible to find an angle...still good luck today and here are my selections, lets hope I actually pick some daytime winners and not just leave it till the evening :-) Newcastle. 2.00 I really like the look of last years winner Knot in Wood, but at just a shade under 3/1 on betfair he doesnt represent much value so I am going to side with Mick Channon (Probably need my head tested) and Mister Hughie, he would almost certainly have won last time if not hampered and falling, Channon seems to be in good form with for him a decent strike rate at present, so for small stakes its Mister Hughie. 2.30 Poets Place will be the likely favourite after running well on only his third start, but his inexperience may be a negative in a race such as this, Medici Time seems to be a horse that either runs well or shockingly and rarely runs two good races in a row, I am hoping he will buck that trend today, he was really impressive last time out in a 6furlong race at Leicester winning easily, Easterby remains in good form and hopefully he can win here, another at a big price to consider is Excusez Moi, Ruth Carr is in good form and this horse has slipped to a very tempting handicap mark this seems to be his time of the year too so may be a worth a few quid. 3.05 With the favourite at a skinny price it could pay to go for a couple in this race to hopefully prevail, Bernie the Bolt looked extremely progressive last year, and looked brilliant especially on his last run of the season where he thrashed the field, he had excuses at Chester, he should love this track and ground and if returning to form will take alot of beating, I also like Aaim to Prosper, he has been really consistent in three runs this year and deserves to take a big prize, this is his best trip and the blinkers are reapplied which should help him. 3.40 Hajoum was 50/1 when running at Royal Ascot and finishing fourth, he wont be anywhere near that price here but if reproducing that form will take al the beating. Newmarket 2.15 How often do you find an unbeaten Richard Hannon horse not favourite, its for that reason I side with Jollywood she has only scraped home in her last two runs but has shown a good attitude, Richard Hannon must have a host of horses he could have run in this, so at a nice price Jollywood will hopefully complete her hattrick. 2.45 Godolphin aren't the most dependable stable but I really like the look of Whispering Gallery in this, 2 miles stretched his stamina last time and he clearly didnt stay, now back in trip he looks to have a serious chance, Man of Iron if fit for his debut could be a danger. 3.20 Doncaster Rover ran a cracking race last time, when 2nd to Main aim, his stable are going well this year and with question marks about some of his opponents I hope Doncaster Rovers can get a well earned victory. 4.30 Come on Baylini you can do it. As for the non televised meetings Windsor. 2.25 Frankish Dynasty 2.55 Ordnance Row 3.30 Shifting Star 4.00 Record Breaker Chester 3.45 Rule Breaker 4.20 Dancing Red Devil 5.25 Destiny's Dream. Good luck all, come on you horses. Frankie
  22. My good evening form continued with Captain Dunne gaining a deserved win at 5/1, Calypso Star (4/1) and Sircozy (11/2) winning at Newmarket and Desert Kiss (5/2) at Chester..As for Banana Republic he went off like a scalded cat and had no chance, he may need blinkers, visor, cheekpieces or all three in future !!!! Looks a great day tomorrow, Chris O can't log on to the forum for some reason. Frankie
  23. Here are some more Newcastle-Cracking card again 6.50 George Adamson 7.25 Captain Dunne 9.00 Frognal and Slikback Jack 9.30 Lees Anthem Chester 6.40 Smart Red 7.15 Barnstorm 7.45 Desert Kiss 8.20 Aldermoor 9.20 Elusive Fame Definitely due a bad evening so not expecting too much tonight Frankie
  24. I'm with you on this one Stevo he is better than he has shown so far I think. Newmarket 6.30 Aviso 7.00 Calypso Star 7.35 Banana Republic 8.05 rio Mist 8.40 sircozy 9.10 Fleeting Star More to follow Frankie
  25. The usual rubbish in the afternoon :-) Frankie
